I have been trying to make a tree skirt for weeks! I started with another method that took my first two tries and ultimately failed. I then followed another video of a star pattern like this but just could not follow how the 4, 5, and 6 rows would repeat. THIS video is exactly what I needed. I have been crocheting for a quite some time but I’ve never made a chevron. Your instructions are so clear and all of your “little notes” were so helpful and the distinction of the three different rows and WHY was exactly what my brain needed to make sense of this. Thank you so much!!!
You are the reason I have such a love for crocheting. Your tutorials are so easy to follow. You don't speed through things. And you zoom in perfectly so it's easy to follow along. Thank you for your love of crocheting. And all your hard work and beautiful projects.
I know this tutorial has been up for years, but I'm currently making a tree skirt from your EXCELLENT instructions, and I love it! Super-easy sequence to memorize, easy color changes... exactly what I was looking for.
Excellent tutorial easy to follow along. I can't read a pattern to save my life. These tutorials got me back into crochet again! I have a skinny six foot tree that I keep up all year round. I decorate it for the seasons and holidays. I plan on making a skirt to go along with each decoration change.
I’m almost done making this for our tree for this year... I made mine all red with 4 rows of white at the end. It came out beautiful and this pattern is so easy. Thanks Jada for taking the time to make this video. Still super relevant exec though it is a few years ago.
Jayda, I have to update you. I made three of these beautiful tree skirts this year for my sisters. Thank you so much for the opportunity to give them back part of what my mom had made for them. I couldn't be happier and they came out just beautiful. Thank you teacher. Happy New Year to you and your family. Angie
love this! I created a Christmas tree skirt many, many, years ago. I crocheted it with fabric end cuts-- for a shop I had worked for, they took my work and used it for display and never returned it to me! It was gorgeous as you might imagine. I was young and naive-- not so assertive then. :/ Am so glad to find your pattern. These would make lovely gifts for my grown kids! I am happy to see your and look forward to making a few next year! The large hook makes it work faster than some people might imagine. Happy Christmas!
Hey Jayda! I hope all is well. I've miss your tutorial on Fridays. I so enjoy your tutorial. I love watching you and getting ideas from you. You have taught me a lot. I do hope you are coming back. Love watching you. Take care

Hi Coleen, for a smaller middle, we recommend going in at the end and double crocheting around, working a 3dec at the underside of each "valley" to make the middle smaller.
Jayda, omg, I have been looking desperately for a pattern like this. My Mom made me and my two sisters Christmas Tree skirts before she passed away and we all have lost or misplaced them. Her skirt looked exactly like this one. Oh, I can't thank you enough. You are the reason I have started to love crocheting again. Happy Holiday to you and your family. Thanks again.
Fantastic tutorial the instructions you have given are so easy to follow I can remember the pattern without replaying back and forth, thank you for sharing this with us you're a gem, stay well and take care.

Thank you so much for doing a tutorial on my suggestion! I am so excited to get started. You are a wonderful teacher and when I saw this in my feed I got so very excited. My husband thought I won the lottery 😁
Thanks so much Jayda your explanations are so clear and motivating! My tree skirt is coming along really pretty. Greetings from El Salvador Central America.
Do you have a video on how to crochet sants sleigh and his 8 reindeer. I want to make one to put on top of a vehicle fir the parade of lights this year. I need to start as soon as possible.

I've made a couple of items, but I don't know how to upload pictures so you what they look like. This project really got me hooked on crochet! Last year I picked up the hook after taking a bit of a break from crochet and I was lacking in inspiration and was still very new to it all when I came across this video. I never thought I would be able to make anything so beautiful, but with your help, I did! I made two of these tree skirts last year, one for my parents' Christmas tree and one for mine (I used sparkly yarn for mine and it looked so pretty under the lights). I haven't stopped crocheting since and am glad to report that with the help from your videos I have greatly improved in a relatively short amount of time! Thank you so much! Where can we share pictures of our projects with you?

I was searching for this pattern last month; and since I couldn’t find one I loved, I modified your round ripple baby afghan and made what I needed! I made the center circle a bit smaller, but it’s perfect. So, thank you! If I need to make another in the future, I’ll check back to this tutorial and give it a try! 🎄 Have an amazing Christmas!!
Jayda thank you so much for all your lovely tutorials. This one is amazing - yet another display of your awesome talent. I wish you and your family a happy and safe Christmas, may God bless you and those you love abundantly in the years to come.
Hi! No need to change the pattern at all! You have a couple of options: 1) make it only 9 or 12 rows (4 stripes) or 2) use lighterweight yarn (size 2 or 3) and a 4.00 mm hook and it will size down - again you can make it fewer rows or stripes 😊
Jayda, is it possible to cut this pattern in half for a miniature Christmas tree - so a six-point instead of 12? If so, would it be 38 chains to start? Thanks in advance!
Hi Allison, 6 points won't curve like 12 unfortunately. For a mini skirt, we recommend either working fewer rows OR using a smaller hook and finer weight yarn 😊
Just finished mine!! This was such an easy pattern to follow..wish I could upload a picture on how mine came out bc I'm in love 😍 thank you sooo much my christmas tree is next level now..thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Hi jayda, I love horses and my baby girl is starting to show interest in horses as well which is very exciting to me, I was wondering if you would be able to do some kind of horse inspired project on the show?
Hi Kim! We've got one your little girl would LOVE, it's the Magical Baby Unicorn project! Its a 3-part project, you'll find the playlist here: ua-cam.com/play/PLU-tvdaf-FnfHyv_EJE6XTV9J0ocR5FS6.html
I did it! I made this tree skirt. I’m really a novice crocheter. What do I do to make the opening smaller? It’s too big around the base of my tree? Any suggestions?
Hi Dee, you can work a row of single, half double OR double crochet around that inside edge, working 2 stitches together at the bottom of what would be a peak (on the opposite side of the foundation chain row). That will help close it in :)
Jayda InStitches Thank you for responding. I didn’t realize my artificial tree has such a thin trunk. My kitchen chair legs are thicker around! I may have to make several rows inside the opening to make it smaller.
Hi Paulette, we have a written copy of this pattern available for sale in our Etsy shop. If you would like to check out our shop, you'll find the link for it in the description box :) Thank you for watching!
Hello, I liked your tree foot tutorial a lot ... but I would like to ask you a question, can I start it with less than 76? I want it to be more extreme in the center .. I would greatly appreciate your help. A merry Christmas and a happy new year. ⭐❄⛄💖👍
Hi Christyna, if you want your centre smaller, you can work some dc2tog stitches around the inside of the neck after you've made the skirt, we need the 76 for the 12 points :)
I’d love to make this for my daughter, but she has a mini tree in her room, so I’d want the center opening to be much smaller. I’m new to crochet and haven’t followed a ton of patterns - before I purchase this pattern, does it perhaps give a multiple of chain stitches to start with to customize the size? (For example, “chain 76, or any multiple of x”) I come from a knitting background and I know a lot of knitting patterns do that for their cast-on row. Thanks!
Hi! We need 12 points in this pattern to make it turn properly, so the number of chains you start with is fairly necessary. You CAN however make it much smaller by using a thinner weight yarn and a smaller hook OR you can make it as written and then work some sc2tog stitches around the inside of the first row and it will close in the edge :) I hope that helps! Thank you for helping support our show :)
Hi! This is designed to button up around the narrow part of a stand and drape over it so unless your tree trunk is absolutely massively thick, the beginning of this pattern should work for any sized skirt. You can add as many rows as you need to make it as large and drapy as you like 😊 Thank you for watching!
@ my stand it’s obnoxiously big! 😆 n I want to cover it. But I made it into 14 point star. Thank you for answering. I love love your tutorials. Have a wonderful holiday! 🥰
Love it! Have a great Christmas and a happy new year! Maybe it bring you health, joy a lot of yarn and sales.lol😊🎄❄ I'm always wondering which of the patterns is your favorite and your top 5 most sold patterns. 😉
Hello! I noticed you use a tapestry needle with a flimsy end for the yarn to go into, I really like it and have been looking around to find one like that but have not been able to find one. Do you have any suggestions on where I might find one that I could purchase?
Hi Julie, that's called a wool needle and recently I've seen them (usually sold in sets of 3) at Walmart (in the yarn section) and if you can't find them there, we have a link on the SHOP page of our website (link in description box) to a few sets you can purchase on line :)

Hi I’m fixing to start this skirt as a gift to my mom in law and she love the Dallas cowboys theme so I’m hoping you can tell me the best striping pattern for that the colors are navy silver and white I’m not sure which order I should do it if Possible please help me
Hi! You can follow this pattern exactly and just switch colours when you want to or you can make some stripes of colours bigger (more rows of pattern) and other stripes smaller (fewer or only 1 row of pattern). Have fun!

Jayda pls do u have video for the other pillow case?u have only the santa but i want and the christmas boy.Thank you.kisses
Hi Caramella! We have a written pattern for the Elf in our Etsy shop :)

@@JaydaInStitches ok perfect thank you so much. Happy new year's 💖🌹
I love this! Thank you for sharing this! 💖
Thank you for watching Mary!
Doing this one in just red and white sparkle yarn this year!!!
Beautiful! Nothing like a little extra sparkle to make it more festive :)
What’s the count if you wanna make it bigger to go around the huge stand? Thank you! 😊
Maybe it bring you health, joy a lot of yarn and sales.lol😊🎄❄
I'm always wondering which of the patterns is your favorite and your top 5 most sold patterns. 😉
Hi Danielle! We hope you had a marvelous holiday and Happy New Year!
My Christmas Tree Skirt came out very nice. Thank you for sharing this project. I wished; I could attached a picture so you can see it.

Have fun!
