    Good afternoon, just need to know when you do the increases on the even rows is it always 2 SC in the spaces after the 1 SC?

    • @PlayHookywithMe
      @PlayHookywithMe  3 роки тому

      Yes and no. Yes an "increase" is always 2 sc in one stitch but each even row, you'll be working increases in a growing sequence. Please rewatch as I explain the sequence. You'll be working incrementally. The pattern is also written under video in the description box to show what I mean.

    Can I use a 9mm hook??

  • @elainaveasey5831
    @elainaveasey5831 2 роки тому

    I’m looking to make this with bulky yarn instead of chunky, do you have any idea approximately how many yards I might need to make up the difference? Or maybe a better way to ask that is what the gauge for this project is?

    • @PlayHookywithMe
      @PlayHookywithMe  2 роки тому +1

      What weight is your bulky yarn?
      For gauge, I have done a 32” diameter tree skirt with Bernat big blanket yarn (weight 7) and it took 2 skeins (300 grams each )
      To help know if we are discussing the same yarn weight , this yarn required a 25mm hook.

  • @kylablount1986
    @kylablount1986 2 місяці тому

    I used the same yarns as you did and followed the sequence of above and mine didn’t form any thing close to a circle. It’s like half a circle. I don’t know what went wrong. I followed the instructions to a tee. What do I do now?

    • @PlayHookywithMe
      @PlayHookywithMe  2 місяці тому

      Hm , I’m not sure. I’d recommend placing it under your tree and seeing how it looks. It doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. Maybe have it overlap a little in the back ?

      @@michellemichlovsky5832 ok , that might be the issue if they aren’t the same weight of yarn. What weight is it? If it’s thinner than what I used , you can use two strands at the same time to thicken it up
      Or if you don’t want to do that
      Then only thing I can suggest is to try doing the increase in every row instead of every other row.
      But that will mean your circle grows more quickly.

    I tried to do a circle crochet with the magic circle and just can't seem to get it. I've watched other videos on how to do circles but I can't seem to do it right. My first scarf (used 5mm) turned out really well. I'm using 8mm hook for my grandmother's scarf, it's super plush, and something I noticed about the Bernat velvet as opposed to Yarn Bee velvet, Bernat seems to be less full/fluffy. It's still really nice though.
