- In this tutorial I shorten the sleeves on my denim jacket and I show you how this technique can be applied to cuffed shirts too.
These projects always seem scary to start, but together we can build confidence so that you feel able to have a go too.
Happy sititching everyone!

A guide on how to make the sleeves longer
Hi Nokwanda, thank you for your question and for watching. It's always harder to add fabric to any garment, taking it away is much easier! To make the sleeves longer, as a couple of suggestions, you could find a similar coloured denim jacket and use the sleeves from that jacket to graft onto yours. Or you could find a contrast fabric and make new sleeve inserts from the contrast and sew it in between the end of the sleeves and the cuffs. In both these cases the transition between the two could be a 'design feature' by adding piping, lace, braid, etc to highlight that it's a deliberate addition to the jacket. Good luck and I hope you find a solution that works for you! Happy stitching! 🥰
