You are so right about conventional diet recommendation by the diabetes foundation. They say 25% of daily caloric intake should be carbs! That is outrageous! We don't need any at all and that's for everyone, not just diabetics.
One would think given the amount of diabetics in the world that this video would have way more views. Always good advice that works from Dr Davis. If a person has to rely on the advice from the diabetic associations we'll good luck with that. Never heard of a person getting off their medications from the advice of the diabetic associations
Thanks Dr Davis for sharing this information which I think we might not even get from the general practitioners or even endocrinologist. I look forward to receive more videos from you on the UA-cam channel - they are so enlightening!
I told my mother for years, that the ADA diet was designed to raise her blood sugar and keep her on Rx insulin. She wouldn't listen and suffered needlessly her whole life which put her in an early grave.
Dr berg said it’s okay to cut calories while on “ healthy keto” because your body just burns it’s own body fat for ketones once the physical food runs out. What do you think about that? Says you’re still feeding yourself with your own bodies calories.
@@WilliamDavisMD I pray that you will be invited to speak for our Philippine Heart Association and our Nutrition Council. I have suggested to our Senators to invite you in one of their Senate inquiry.
Dr Davis I am a 75 year old male just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes- I am 6’1” 165 lbs- I am using intermittent fasting to treat my diabetes . My problem is weight loss. I have always been thin but am losing weight very rapidly! I have no other health issues and searching for a resolution to this dilemma. Please any information will be deeply appreciated.
Thank you Dr. Davis for this video. I have purchased your books. What I am curious about is I am a type 2 diabetic but I also have stage 3 kidney failure. Is this the diet I should follow?
Yes, you can, Kathy, but will still need to follow such restrictions as reduced potassium intake, as advised by your nephrologist, and you should not take magnesium or vitamin D without their supervision, as these are metabolized via the kidneys.
@@WilliamDavisMD Thank you Dr. Davis for getting back to me. Can your kidneys recover? When our self isolation lifts [n Oregon hopefully I will be able to get back to the doctor.
Try to do sports or if you have an active lifestyle on 5g of carb... it is not possible. Each person has to control their carb base on who they are and their lifestyle. To eat too low of carb a day will make you weaker and if you do not have much fats on you to use and burn, you can feel weak especially if you do burst of energy work. Fat is good fort burning on slow workout and activities as the burning is slow and your body tend to seek carb to burn FIRST before they will look to FATS and then lastly is there is no enough of both, they will look to PROTEIN to burn which is the most inefficient to convert without using up 30% in thermal Genesis to convert it...

Low carb diets are the key for diabetics - VIP to start and stay on this way of life!

Sorry, Phase, but not true. The gallbladder does not discriminate and will form stones if and when calories are cut, regardless of the diet.
William Davis how can I prevent them? I’m eating about 3000-4000 calories of keto a day and I’m not that active currently so the scale isn’t budging
Thanks for your time and knowledge Love the reminders
I pray that you can influence Nutrition in the Philippines.
Help spread the word, Bobby!

strength training helps build muscle
Which is the best for diabetes, adequate protein intake.
Is there a way to reduce and eliminate gallstones if you have some? Without having your gallbladder removed.
Yes, you can take bile acid preparations, but you really want to do this with the guidance of someone in functional or integrative health, Daniel.
Great info!! Truly needed this! Thank you 😊
Great advice 👍🤜🤛😎
5 to 6000 iu of vitamin D every day : did I get it correct ? It looks to be a high target ?!
Yup, you got it. You can verify, of course, with a blood level down the road.
