I used to have a sharp memory and concentration before clinical depression got triggered. I really miss that quality of my memory.
Depression has effected my memory and concentration a lot.
Thanks for the free memory test.
    I'm not that bad 😄

Regarding the user interface of the free memory test, I gave it to my family and all had problems entering the sequence of numbers into the number boxes. This must be a common problem. When you focus on correctly entering the numbers, taking extra seconds, the attempt to fix the entry causes interference with memory task. A solution is to 1) improve entry into the boxes or 2) simply present the user with a text box which is parsed and display into another row consisting of the correct number of boxes.

    Some NOTES here
    1. Short term memory holds information between sensory memory & long term memory, for eg when we see a phone number it stored in the sensory memory then it get transferred into short term memory, if we have emotional attachment with the phone number then it gets into long term.
    2. Short term memory refers to the ability to hold a small amount of information in your mind for a short period of time. We can’t really manipulate this. But on average short term memory logic number to store is 7. Duration is to store that information is 18 seconds depending on how much efforts you give to remember it.
    3. DECAY THEORY: It says memory decay’s over time, memory initially created it leaves a trace of chemical changes in our brain & as time passes that trace fades away. The more we use the memory more it tries to remember it.
    4. DISPLACEMENT THEORY: This theory says we displace older memories with newer ones. If you get distracted to any other things and try to remember things after certain time then it’s more likely you forget it.
    5. ANTEROGRADE AMNESIA: People develop a partial or complete inability to recall their recent tasks.
    6. HOW THIS AMNESIA DEVELOPS: Benzodiazepine drugs, alcohol, emotional disorders, brain injuries, neurological deterioration illnesses.
    7. HOW TO INCREASE SHORT TERM MEMORY: Try chunking exercise to remember things, it requires you chunk multiple pieces of information until single form of items to remember. So the brain can remember only 5 to 9 pieces of information research shows that you can store unto 4 chunks of information which could be 16 items.
My passion is to share summaries like started doing it on my channel with PDF summaries ✌
Lets increase our short term memory & make miracles 😀

Success Wheels great comment but just two small points, your explanation of anterograde amnesia is good but it misses the part where the inability to make new memories is caused by the brain’s inability to hold short term memories and turn them into long term memories. Because of this, short term memories are ‘lost.’ Also, anterograde amnesia can be caused by side effects of benzodiazepines but also by removing some parts of the brain, especially the hippocampus, famously seen by Henry Gustav Molaison (HM)

Short and long term memory is not mutually exclusive that means they are not proven discreet entities they overlap with each other, like your graph of amnesia there are shades of memory loss depending on the context, the same goes for mental health classifications many of them overlap yet DSM continues to spit out 100s of pages of disease now we have shyness as a disease

I suffer from a strange memory condition (Name Unknown) where at any time of the day I could lose my memory ranging from 5 minutes of memory lost or in the absolute Worst case 6 Months of my memory completely gone and the shorter amounts are more common than the larger amounts. Top doctors and surgeons in my city are amazed by it and sadly can't even give me a name to the condition. If anyone here could give me some recommendations or advice that would be very appreciated.

I hate the fact that my short term memory is garbage. I failed your task so hard, but my IQ score was tested to be very high. I even recieved a 2-year scholarship from the most expensive school of my country not for academic results, but for IQ score (which they secretly told me was higher by a significant margin than that of other contestants). However, I just can't pass a certain barrier at your test no matter how I try. I forget the number after a millisecond. And the second part is just impossible for me. Can't get a single answer right. I feel bad for myself

    • @turel528
      @turel528 2 роки тому

I also heard that there is a strong correlation of IQ and short term memory. Now I doubt everything

"Your Memory Score was 117, That means you scored in the 90-100th percentile"
My belief in myself restored. Anyway, I'll have to train my short term memory more and in particular n back

@@kylesapphire1820 According to research and surveys, there are only 61 people worldwide who have been identified as having hyperthymesia, and scientists say it is caused by genes or molecular difference mostly in those rare identities. This video is for telling about the working of our memory, which is also based on the researches done by the scientists, and if you say that the info in this video is wrong because of those rare 61 people's existence, then i think that most of the videos on UA-cam or anywhere giving us infos about ourselves, should not exist.
