    Super helpful, I got a thinkware battery pack which had 3 wires out and a Blackvue 750S 2-CH which only had two wires. Thought maybe I needed another adapter, but your video helped. Thanks!

    One thing to note, when using the three wire harness from the b124x, the ground wire is the ground. Meaning it gets its ground from the input ground of the B124X. Unlike the three wire harness from the camera that needs to go to a ground without using the B124X.
    So no need to splice three wire harness to ground from camera then to B124X three wire harness ground.
    Just harness to harness.

      If you obtain the dash camera power using fuse taps in a fuse box in the vehicle, then the ground wire from the dash camera's 3-wire harness would connect to a grounding location on the vehicle.
      If you obtain the dash camera power from a dash camera battery pack, then the ground is obtained from the ground pin/wire from the output connector of the dash camera battery pack. No need to obtain a separate ground when using a dash camera battery pack.

    Hi there. If I were to choose between the Powercell8 and Thinkware ivolt Xtra battery, which one would you recommend for the Thinkware U3000 front and rear camera?
    Furthermore, what guage should the wires be for the hardwire and battery kit and is this already factored in by these battery companies so that the wires and fuse box connections do not heat up during charging and running 24 hours in parking / motion mode etc?

      As far as battery capacity, the PowerCell 8 and the iVolt Xtra BAB-95 are the same. The BAB-95 does give you the feature of having the U3000 announce the remaining battery capacity when entering/exiting parking mode by using the extra battery communications cable.
      My personal experience with the Thinkware iVolt Xtra BAB-95 battery pack has not been all that great. I'm now on my fourth unit. The first two simply stopped providing power to the dash camera. The third unit started to strangely go through a self-discharge event causing it to go from fully charged to no power in just a few hours. On the last self-discharge event, it also failed to stop trying to charge the battery pack even though the "ACC IN" power was turned off. My fourth unit is working correctly (for now). I've installed the fourth BAB-95 just a week ago, so I don't have a long history with that unit (yet).
      A friend of mine that installs the BAB-95 for his customers has stated my experience seems to be unusual. He's not observed any failures of the BAB-95 in the 30 or so cars he's installed a BAB-95.

    Very informative video. So the acc wire will draw power from the car through the battery pack without using the batteries in the pack whilst the car is running? Or would it be better to wire the acc cable to one of the fuses in the car as not to put excess wear on the battery pack?

      The dash camera is not powered by the power on the ACC wire, it's only used as an indicator to the dash camera or the dash camera hardwire kit. The presence of 12-volt power on the dash camera ACC wire is how the dash camera or the dash camera's 12-volt to 5-volt hardwire kit (depending on how the dash camera is powered) knows to run in normal recording mode. When the ACC power is turned off, the dash camera uses that as an indication to enter parking mode (if enabled) or power down (if parking mode is disabled).
      These three dash camera battery packs are charged using switched/accessory power. When the battery pack is being charged (vehicle accessory power is on), the battery pack will provide 12-volts on the ACC wire that goes to the dash camera or the dash camera's hardwire kit. There is no load on the battery pack.

    Thanks so much for the help! The seller for my Wolfbox g900 was insisting that the only way to access parking mode is to hardwire it directly to the car and not an external battery. When I had the camera connected to my battery via a 2 wire connection parking mode was not accessible, but now I am able to access parking mode on the camera. The only issue is that when I turn off the car everything shuts off and the camera goes into parking mode for about a second before turning off. Any idea why that would be happening? I have a Blackvue B-124x hardwired to a constant power fuse.

      Two possibilities. It sounds like the G900 has already been configured to enter parking mode in the firmware settings. If that is not enabled, then the G900 may simply turn off when the accessory power (ignition switch power) has been turned off.
      The other possibility is the hardwire kit's red (accessory power) and/or yellow (constant power) are not connected to the correct wire on the dash camera battery pack side of the connection. If the hardwire kit wires are incorrectly connected to the wires on the dash camera battery pack, the yellow wire of the hardwire kit will lose power as the ignition switch is turned off which would cause the behavior you've described.
      Looking at the B-124X dash cam connection port (left to right), it has BATT+ (constant) power, ACC+ (switched accessory power) and then a ground. The G900 Type-C hardwire kit wiring picture I found online suggests that the hardwire kit's yellow wire (BATT) should be connected to the left most wire/connector of the battery pack connector, the hardwire kit's red wire (ACC) should be connected to the second connector (from the left) and the ground of the hardwire kit (earth cord - black) should be connected to the third (from the left) connector on the dash camera battery pack.
      The other thing you mentioned is the B-124X is hardwired to a constant power fuse. Please do not connect the charging cable of the B-124X to a constant power fuse. That will deplete your car's battery since the B-124X will always be drawing power from the car (running or not). The B-124X's charging cable power source should be a switched/accessory power source only.

      The female terminal pins are used in the connector that plugs into the dash camera battery pack. The male terminal pins are present in the connector inside of the battery pack.

      The male terminal pins are present in the female molex connector (plastic connector - one is present on the inside of the battery pack). The female terminal pins are crimped onto the wires from the dash camera wiring harness and they are then inserted into the male molex connector. When you insert the female terminal pins into the male molex connector, they will click into place. When the male molex connector is plugged into the dash camera battery pack connector, there's an external plastic clip on the male molex connector that clips onto a small ridge on the outside of the female molex connector that is present inside of the battery pack. That clip on the outside of the molex connector is what keeps the connectors together.

    Hi there if wiring the output cable from the neo to a viofo a139 hardwire parking mode cable one with the voltage monitor on it do you keep the voltage monitor box on it or remove it. I cut my wire to remove the voltage box as I thought was not needed and that i just wanted the usb c lead thats on it with the three wire yellow black and red on it to join to the cellink neo output cable
    my camera won’t turn on for some reason with it like that,
    I thought the voltage box was not needed as the neo tell the camera its in parking mode
    Thanks hope you can shed some light on the subject

      I believe I just replied to your question about this on the DashCamTalk website.
      The "voltage monitor box" is more than a low voltage cutoff device. It converts the 12-volt input power to 5-volt power that is supplied to the dash camera via the USB connector. You cannot directly connect the battery pack's "dash camera" output power (12-volt power) to the USB power wires that go the USB connector for the camera.

    Hi...is it possible to connect both the acc and battery + together onto an ignition on fuse slot? asking as my old battery use only 2 wires without ACC but I am thinking to change to a new battery pack which uses 3 wires (Acc, Battery + and Gnd)

      You can connect the dash camera's battery+ and acc+ wires to the same fuse tap in a fuse socket with switched/accessory power. That will result in the dash camera powering down when the vehicle's ignition is turned off instead of going into parking mode.

      Then I do not understand your question. If the battery pack (charging connection) requires a switched/accessory power source, then you must only connect the charging cable wire to a switched/accessory power source and of course the ground to a vehicle ground.
      If you have a battery pack that has its battery charging cable connected to constant battery power (like the Thinkware iVolt Xtra BAB-95), you must connect the charging cable positive to a constant battery power source and the ignition sense wire to a switched/accessory power source.

      @@RetroCarGuy530 My existing battery pack comes with 2 cables only. 1 to ignition on power and the other to gnd. so for Ivolt xtra bab-95, it comes with 3 cables to connect. constant battery power, accessory and gnd. Can i run connect both the constant power and accessory cables to my existing cable which is an ignition on power.?

      You might be able to connect it that way, but it definitely is not the recommended way to power that battery pack. The BAB-95 expects to be connected to constant battery power and ground all of the time. When the switched/accessory power is turned on (green "ACC In" wire), it's only a signal to the BAB-95 battery maintenance system to begin charging and to pass along power to the dash camera on the "ACC Out" wire in addition to the constant battery power sent to the dash camera from the battery pack.

      Based on my testing of the B-130X, the B-130X draws almost 9.2 amps (max) during the high mode charge cycle. There may be a small inrush amp spike that exceeds 10 amps, so you may want to use a 15 amp fuse if a 10 amp doesn't work for you. I'm not a fan of using fuse taps to power anything that draws that much current via a fuse tap. The original circuit in the fuse box might get overloaded with the original load plus the load to charge the dash camera battery pack. About a year ago, I reviewed the BlackboxMyCar PowerCell 8 dash camera battery pack. In that video, I discussed the fuse tap vs using a 4-terminal relay which sources its high amp power directly from the vehicle's battery (with an inline fuse). That approach still uses a fuse tap, but it's for the relay control power which is in the neighborhood of 100 mA instead of 10 amps.     vehicle in just plug into crigratter light for charge? if car is off it wont change it wong drain the battery?

      If the cigarette lighter power port turns off its power when the car is off, then the battery pack won't drain the car's battery.
