2000 F150 - How to Change Head Gaskets in Under 5 Minutes

  • A picture guide showing every step I took to change my head gaskets. The truck is a 2000 Ford F150. Engine is 4.6L V8. At the end, you'll get to see my reaction when I started it up the first time! I claim no copyright to the song. The song's copyrights remain to whomever they belong to.
Update: The song was removed, which screwed up the syncing for the video at the end.

I decided to just pull the engine and put a new rear main seal in it while it was out. Once the engine was out, the heads and timing chain was so much easier to deal with. Great Video!!!

nice video, id suggest for future projects (assuming you didnt do this) kill the fuel pump and crank the engine to get all the bearings nice and lubed before firing it up. if you put some effort into production you could probably have a successful channel. but who has the time for that when fixing shyt is life

@@Mirrorism If you don't have the money for a newer truck, gotta be willing to work on it yourself. Five years ago I knew nothing about anything under the hood (or anywhere else on a vehicle for that matter), then I bought a '94 F-150. Now I've changed timing belts (on the Focus, the F-150 has a chain), throttle position sensors, ball joints, tie rods, etc... getting ready to replace a head gasket on the truck. Do it yourself and you save thousands of dollars.
