This week I will be living with the most powerful Mazda MX-5 Miata ever made and see what it's like! Though this has its fair share of draw backs, this 2019 revised version takes the Miata right where it's always needed to be! Remember to like this video if you enjoyed it! I got a little disappointed as well, I didn’t see any difference between 2 hours with Miata versus a week with Miata. I was curious as well if it would fit 1 or 2 carry on on the trunk. But anyway, not 100% of someone’s channel is going to meet our expectations:m :/

    13:03 wind noise is really bad in the rf with top down AND windows up. Try it with the top down and windows down, its still noisy but not as bad at speed. The fastback creates a parachute effect that catches all the wind and creates the noise just behind your ear. The soft top does not have this issue with the top down and windows up.

      modern cars sold in the us that run on gas are engineered by US law to run perfectly fine on 87 octane gas. the premium is only for getting that full horse power. it doesn't hurt the engine. if your engine has a super high compression ratio, then premium is absolutely needed, or if you have a turbo. all you have to avoid is pumping from unknown brand gas

    Dude, you never put 87 in 91! 91 in 87 ok from time to time. Your engine's timing is based on the octane. Putting different octane, albeit over time, will cause the engine to misfire. The only reason to put higher octane, on rare occasion, is to clean the lines.

    RF is quieter with the top up, and temperature control is better in extreme temps - this seems to be the consistently discussed advantage over the rag top. But RF drivers complain about the "top down" experience vs the rag top. Can anyone comment on this? I think I still prefer the rag top for the top down real convertible experience.

    • @BoopSnoot
      @BoopSnoot 5 років тому +1

      You're always going to have more buffeting with just a removable top (what the RF does) compared to a real convertible. I drove both and found that in an extremely hot climate, 99% of the time its better to have the top up and a Mustang Ecoboost Premium is a better buy, as it has far more comfortable seats, more luggage space, the seats themselves are even airconditioned, and it can easily outrun a Miata in a drag race while still having great handling thanks to having wider tires that provide more grip than the Miata's.

    • @gatorcellman
      @gatorcellman 5 років тому +1

      Use the lowest octane you can without having any detonation (pinging). Using higher octane than that is just wasting money. 93 might make sense in hot climate in summer, but in cooler climates, 87 or 89 usually does the trick.

      @@leesonneville1817 Exactly right, we use RON+MON ratings /2. In Europe, they only use RON, which is the higher number. The US way is actually more accurate averaging out the two anti-knock measurement systems.

    @10:00 when you were saying your elbow hits the drink when operating the multimedia control button - I suggest move the drink to the other holder. It worked for me and it's also easier to access. It's not the most comfortable angle but I got used to it. This or, put the holder on the passenger side if you don't have a passenger. I agree it's not the best setup and it will take some time go get used to it but I think the cupholders' location in Mazda 6 is actually worse. It takes up a big chunk of the armrest and instead of your elbow resting on it, you end up resting it on the drinks or the cupholder's lid- which obviously is not solid or comfortable enough . I found this much worse in day to day usage. If you have a large/tall cup 400-500ml or bottle you end up hitting it every time you switch the gears too...With that being said, as always, great video. I always enjoy your car reviews

    Hello. It’s very strange this habit of drinking and eating in his car in the United States. I never do that in my car and in any case it is prohibited while driving in France. So for me the cupholders will end up in the trunk at best. Otherwise this car is still just as great and even more so with this new version. Thanks for this review dear Miata lover. JB
