That cable you mentioned is the attachment for the hose inlet plug. If you remove the hose for cleaning or transportation, you just unscrew the cap attached to the cable and place it over the hose inlet.
awesome thanks for that!
This works great when cutting fibre cement sheets, doesn't need to be emptied very often surprisingly, it actually makes sense to use the tstak system great for indoor work and most the tools come with tstak boxes plunge saw etc, i made a dust seperator out of another tstak box get very little dust in th actual vac.
How did you do that?
Thanks for the review. A few questions - What's the run time on a 9 ah battery? Does it have variable suction? Is that 125 cfm at the end of the hose or the inlet?
This is the best dewalt vacuum no matter what this person says.
I'm a dewalt man myself and have quite the collection going as well
Hi you want to know what that plug was on the side of the Hoover when you take the hosepipe out on the side with that button follow the metal ring and you will find a piece that you pull out and pushes in where you’ve taken the hose out
So right now I use a 20v Dewalt shop vac with a hepa filter bag for dust collection on sanders and smaller tools. It’s only 33cfm though, so the 125 on this sounds great! What’s the run time on a 9ah 60v battery?
8:30 that cable is to keep you from losing the clean out port
Nice honest review; cost is reasonable when household dry only vacs are going for several hundred dollars! Be well!
Thanks, you too!
would this be good for my tile cutter grinder for dust ?
Do you have the larger 20v vacuum that has a cord? If so can you tell me if there's a big power difference?
Where does one buy the radio control wrist band from? Can’t find it anywhere, or does it come with the extractor?
Hey does the newer 15 ah flexvolt battery fit in this? Thanks !
Hello Sir, what is the difference between this and the vacuum?
I like where dewalt is going with this but if they made a vacuum backpack with the Bluetooth button that connects to the tools would be next gen
that would be awesome, something like the milwaukee vac would be great!
Thanks
Brad, I love t stak ( versa stack) but I’m noticing wat less selection at Lowe’s for versa and no t stak in my home depot. I’m getting nervous they r getting out of the tstak line? Any news or rumors u know. Or is this just one of those scarce products with covid and China over last ten months. Just bought some family dewalt for Christmas. Wondering if I should encourage them to get out and return before I bought a product that will be discontinued. . Thx in advance
DeWalt actually just reinvested in both the t-stak this year, launching a line of new IP rated boxes (new versions of previous boxes effectively) but still a sign it’s not going anywhere. Tstak is overwhelmingly popular in the European markets so id be very very surprised if it went away
@@coreycantrell1627 thank u
Hey nice video what is it like with saw dust and planer chips ? I would mostly use it with wood tools
its great with sawdust when hooked up to a tool. I haven't tried it with the power planer yet. but i think it would be great
The hose, filters and holding tank are way too small for sawdust and planer chips. This is for fine dust. Not wood chips.
Does this have the blower option?
Anyone having issues with the quality of the suction power?
Can this be used as a normal vac’ hoovering up the work area or will the alarm be constantly going off? Cheers
not really, its more for Dust
There are adapters to add tstak to toughsystem
I dont have one but I want one. I wish that dewalt would come out with a vacuum thats small and it connects to the dewalt cordless track saw, and you could be completely cordless and hose less, like it wouldbe just for the track saw and be a stand alone unit. I have an idea in my head of how it would work and attach to the tool.
I have one of these and it works like a champ.

they have one, check this out.DEWALT DWH161D1 20V MAX Brushless Universal Dust Extractor Kit
@@hammerandhome awesome, thanks for the info.
It's so close to what I want, but just not quite. Dewalt really needs to make one that either acts as a base cart, or clips into the toughsystem. Give us 120v capacity like the Miter saw and you've got something.
You can buy adapter to use tstak with toughsystem
You could just get the Tstak cart and put this on the bottom.
the 120v adapter in the mitre saw is garbage, and apperantly is known to damage the motor on the saw
Its been a while do you still recommend? I mainly want for drywall dust when i fix patches
I don’t have it anymore, but I some times wish I did. However now I have the Milwaukee backpack vac and I absolutely love it for drywall jobs. Especially if I’m high up on a ladder cutting out pot lights.
I have 2 of them. One stays hooked up to my table saw and the other travels about with me. There great on the rail saw.
Very portable needs the big batteries for run time but great kit. The tank in the bottom could be bigger and I don’t use the bags. They should be reusable with a zip.
that would be a good improvement. I would also like to see a plug in option
Hammer and Home yes a main plug would be a great idea.
I didn't get it because it didn't have a plug in option
They should make a bigger bucket as an option. 2g is small
Also check out Carpenter One3 on UA-cam and look up a video titled tstak/versastak dust extraction build. He made his vacuum a 2 stage vacuum.
cool, will do
I built one myself out of the t stak 2.0. Works a treat
Would it work well with the DeWalt 20v drywall sander?
yes, it would be great with that
I have a milwaukee backpack vacuum hooked up with a dust deputy going into a paint can. Removes just about all the dust into the paint can and extra fine dust enters the vacuum (mostly sheet rock plaster is whats being sucked up)
Nice! when im doing big dusty work i use a small cyclone as well. saves time and money not having to replace the filters and dust bags.
You are going to ruin that back pack using it as a dust collector.
@@DoubleD72 have you seen how much dust and debris goes into the vacuum part? Practically nothing enters into it. Plus its hepa filter for fine particles.
@@Zombieboxx1 That is also not the point. a Dust collector has more seals between the motor and collector to prevent damage caused by dust... Hello? anyone in there? this is common sense knowledge.
@@Zombieboxx1 I suggest you do some research on the differences between a Dust Collector and a Shop Vac. lol maybe do that FIRST. then come back. did it ever accrue to you WHY a Dust collector is far more expensive compared to a Shop Vac? lol or Why a Shop Vac has WAYYYY more suction then a Dust Collector? simple knowledge. pay attention. Damn Milwaukee/China fans boys with their Chinese Brand Tools. lol Idiots I tell ya.
That wire looks to me like it was holding the little black plug, possibly so it won't get lost when you empty the vac
when it has water. Just a guess.
I do think you are correct
It would be great if you could also plug it in to the wall
thats for sure!
What is the flexibility of the hose in the cold ?
its fine i think, probably depends on how cold your thinking. I haven't put it through minus 20deg yet
Where’s the end attachments for general clean up?
This unit is more for dust collection and not general vacuum clean up.
Most probably grounding wire. We had one cheaper makita model which gave static shocks constantly. When vacuuming you always felt your hair is up.
I have a ridgid vac that I think is trying to kill me with static, lol
Nah the metal cable is there to connect up the tracking security system. It just doubles up as a bung to stop dust escaping when the hose is detached.
That’s a pretty heavy duty cordless vac! Quite clunky looking:) classic dewalt!
That’s my biggest issue with this thing. But it is definitely handy.
@FoxRcng708 of course, but I'm showing all the possibilities, you never know when you're going to get into a jam at work and need to suck some water. thanks for watching
how long do you do with 1 battery.? greeting pat
I have a 6amp hr and it was only about 30 min I think. that's the main thing that bugs me about this tool. not enough time
Craftsman i believe makes a reducer that will put your t-stack on your tough system 1 or 2.0.
You think that would accept the 12 amp flexvolt battery
Good question, I’ll try it out
Why would it need to? it's a damn dust collector NOT A SHOP VAC. In dust collection applications a dust collector isn't ran as much as a Shop Vac. because this isn't a shop vac. everyone needs to research the differences between Dust Collector and Shop Vac, they are drastically different.
@@DoubleD72 I don't know dumbass maybe it would be longer between charging when you compare a 9Amp to 12Amp
@@paulgrice6766 My comment went right over your head. maybe read the comment again. lol It's cool I'll wait.
Where can I get one my Home Depot or Lowe’s don’t have them
Have you tried online? They sell on Amazon and Home Depot, check out these links: Amazon USA: amzn.to/3cl3rvW , Home Depot USA: homedepot.sjv.io/WbLEA , Amazon Canada amzn.to/2RK0Li9
HD does have it. They have a sale right now if you buy multiple tools. I got mine for 350
Thank you means a lot. I do so much work and then have to run to the truck and get the vacuum it sucks
Could that cable be attached to a drain plug
im told its for the hose inlet plug
is the DCV585 same as DWH050?
nope totally different vacs
They have a adapter that sits on 2.0 to t-stack
I almost built one myself, I was hoping for years that they would make one.
@@hammerandhome yeah I didn't realize it was three years ago
Safety cable so you dont lose the cap
Does it have a blower function????
Not that I’m aware of. I don’t have this unit anymore.
mans wearing saftey glasses do hammer drill that brick haha. Other than that the vacc seems nice. might have to add to my collection of dewalt.
If I bought the i wouldremove thatFilter cleaning mechanism it’s so annoying I would just use it bagged all the time
Cheeky festool under the bench there
😬😁it’s a great vac. I never thought I would have so many vacuums
마크건축해주세요
I'm sorry for about this I don't understand this vacuum. It is very small tank, and not finished design of vacuum
I bought 1 of these and fair to say I think it crap .bust bag does not fit properly in area ment to be .Time off battery life is sort
Wait a minute. Isn’t it a dust extractor?
it's definitely a dust extractor and that is all i would use it for, but you can suck up water as well.
Desalt sander
Rigid propack any day of the week.
That's an anti theft cable
Where is your hammer me old china
Im a dewalt guy but their vacuum technology is seriously lacking and this unit is way over priced.
I agree. It’s nuts how expensive it is
hose is prone to damage .not suitable for van ,
I'll pass. Women vacuum. Men wet vac lol
