      Hi Sharen! Thank you so much! I wish I had found this sooner. I rely on my canned foods for convenience even more than freezing items. And yes, while I still have lots to learn with gardening, being able to cook with fresh herbs and have cut and come again greens has been truly satisfying. Thank you for the encouragement and kind words. We are in agreement that the art of canning is a timeless skill. I appreciate you saying hello!

    You can also take a TBSP of the dried banana peels, steep, drain and make a tea to drink. It helps you sleep and tastes amazing. It’s a go to for me when insomnia rears its ugly head.

I’m currently editing my tomato preserves recipe you may enjoy (if your curious or interested in canning). Pursuing homestead hobbies while in a small space is not crazy and is totally worth it!

      Haha! Yes! The majority of commercial fertilizers come from food sources, so why not cut out the middle? I’ll be sharing some more ideas soon. Bone and blood meal are expensive to buy but also easy to make! Enjoy your weekend!

    I havent seen anyone else make powdered banana peels or fish emulsion!! I love coming across new ways to diy and better my garden. Love your channel and so glad I came across it❤

      @@BecomingaFarmGirl yes! Only water bath canning so far (jams, jellies, pie filling, fruits etc). I took last year off because we had moved but im anxious to get back to it😊

    My dad was just asking if I was going to get a greenhouse - Im gonna give the plastic jug idea a try when the weather cools down again!
    Thank you for sharing all these little tidbits! My kids want to start a worm “hotel” lol so we will definitely add that to our summer to-do list.

      @@BecomingaFarmGirl I never been able to produce so much to can and never thought about buy more on the season for canning (wich now sounds like a great idea! Hahaha). I've been gardening in my terrace and cooking some things from it and your tips are so helpful! ;)
