Hi friends! You can say ‘YES’ to your farm dream! You’re neither alone (nor crazy) for starting your dream NOW. Have you enjoyed the full series? If not, watch this next: tinyurl.com/44n5n4w7
Hi Sharen! Thank you so much! I wish I had found this sooner. I rely on my canned foods for convenience even more than freezing items. And yes, while I still have lots to learn with gardening, being able to cook with fresh herbs and have cut and come again greens has been truly satisfying. Thank you for the encouragement and kind words. We are in agreement that the art of canning is a timeless skill. I appreciate you saying hello!
You can also take a TBSP of the dried banana peels, steep, drain and make a tea to drink. It helps you sleep and tastes amazing. It’s a go to for me when insomnia rears its ugly head.
I’m so happy to have found your channel today. Your voice and music is so soothing, and, the info is priceless and exciting to learn! Thank you so much!
Hello Shiny Bubbles! It’s equally nice to meet you as well! I’m happy to share what I’ve learned (and am learning) with other homestead enthusiasts! I’m currently editing my tomato preserves recipe you may enjoy (if your curious or interested in canning). Pursuing homestead hobbies while in a small space is not crazy and is totally worth it!
Haha! Yes! The majority of commercial fertilizers come from food sources, so why not cut out the middle? I’ll be sharing some more ideas soon. Bone and blood meal are expensive to buy but also easy to make! Enjoy your weekend!
I love your channel! I'm so glad I came across this lovely space of yours, being that I'm an urban apt homesteader too! You are poised to teach many urban dwellers how to maximize their space, enjoyment, health and culinary skills!
Hello Anna Renee! Thank you for saying hello and your words have truly touched me ❤️❤️You succinctly captured all that I’ll share here...because, it’s true! It’s been so healing, empowering and restorative to fold aspects of farm life into my urban reality. They are complimentary, not in competition! Blessings to you and yours new friend!
I just want to say how inspired I am with this video. How I want to double my efforts in my backyard this year. I am going to be canning my tomatoes definitely. 😎
Hi Jules! It’s so nice to meet you and thank you for saying hello! My heart is so happy that you feel inspired ❤️🌱There are so many ways to maximize a small space. I want others to feel encouraged to compound their learning while, like me, your in a waiting room. The journey can be enriching and joyful now! Take care friend! I hope to “see” you soon. I rotate between notching gardening and canning videos weekly!
I havent seen anyone else make powdered banana peels or fish emulsion!! I love coming across new ways to diy and better my garden. Love your channel and so glad I came across it❤
Hi Lisa! I’m so happy to pass along tid bits I’m learning from books and others! Making your own fertilizers is a cost effective way to use byproducts most of us have easy access to. Thank you for saying “hello” so nice to meet you! Do you can food as well?
@@BecomingaFarmGirl yes! Only water bath canning so far (jams, jellies, pie filling, fruits etc). I took last year off because we had moved but im anxious to get back to it😊
Yay! Another great video. So much valuable info in this one I will have to watch again. I think the book recommendations are great, I will look into them. Thank you! 💕
Hi Elizabeth! You are so kind, truly. Thank you for the encouragement, because I’m truly just learning as I go as I graft myself into this. It’s so great to connect with others, like you, who are becoming farm girls too. 😀
I so look forward to your videos. This week I will be making the carrot cake jam, I swear I could almost smell it cooking. Also, I never thought about dehydrating the banana peels for powder. I am going to give that a try, thanks!
Hello lemoncrinckles! Why, thank you! Surprisingly, there’s a lot you can do, grow, learn even in a small space. I rote between kitchen gardening and canning videos each week. I here to share and learn. Thanks for taking time to say hello and share!
My dad was just asking if I was going to get a greenhouse - Im gonna give the plastic jug idea a try when the weather cools down again! Thank you for sharing all these little tidbits! My kids want to start a worm “hotel” lol so we will definitely add that to our summer to-do list.
It works and, when I transplant in my green stalk I’ll share updates. Exactly-you won’t need a traditional greenhouse with this method! Good to see you!
Lovely video! You're an elegant farm girl! Well done & informative... thank you! Looking forward to seeing more from you! Happy to be a new subscriber! Greetings from the Canadian Rockies!
Hi Cat! Your kind words have started my morning off on a good note! While I hadn’t thought much of it before, your comment made me realize I do try to find the “elegance” in the everyday. It’s so nice to meet other farm girls (especially from Canada!) Blessings on your week and thanks for saying hello!
Hey Auntie’s Garden! Yes, I don’t know where I’d be without the text resources I’ve used. Videos are extremely helpful and I love them but sometimes you just need an instant, always there resource! So good to “see” you! Thanks for stopping by!
I truly appreciate this from someone further along in the journey! While I’m excited about the future, I see that it’s a lot of work (in the best way and truly rewarding) so I want to build skills, patience and enjoy the ride. You have encouraged me immensely❤️
