  • Showcasing the new car I bought. I uploaded this video for the people that are looking to buy a 1st gen Sequoia. Also I want to document the build process from beginning to end. I want to look back at this video once I feel like I am done building it.

    I picked up a 2004 Sequoia over the summer, paid $4000. Like yours mine has the 4WD and had 154,000 miles, one owner. Carried out some maintenance, replacing brake calipers/rotors/pads, oil change, fixing the tailgate problem, one big outstanding job is the timing belt, local garage has quoted me $300 for the labor, bought Aisin kit from Amazon for $170. Found that parts for it are pretty cheap and it is so easy to work on. This is a great vehicle with a very reliable engine and transmission, intend to keep mine for as long as possible.

      I’m in the same boat. I asked a shop and they said like $300-$400 and I bought the kit off Amazon. But still haven’t got around to getting it done. I also intend on keeping mine until the wheels fall off. Also can’t believe how good of a deal u got on yours, great job man!

      @@jayar-outdoors4187 Yeah, took a chance, drove 3 hours to see it, guy lives in a nice house has a brand new $65,000 Sequoia parked inside his garage so genuine reason for sale, but it was not inspected, he let it lapse and had run out a month or two before. Didn't want to miss out so took a chance and bought it, thankfully only needed a couple of minor things to pass inspection. Main thing with these is the rusted out frames, but the one on mine is pretty solid.

    I have had an '02 limited 4x4 for 3 years now, 308k on the clock, and continue to love it. There will be minor issues, but all of the major components are solid. Keep it maintained and give it quality oils and it'll treat you right! Just...kinda overlook it's octane addiction. I've been going to Unleaded Anonymous meetings since I bought it! Flaws give us character, though, right?

    I recently got an 01 SR5 and I had the same problem with the power ports. I checked all the fuses and they looked good. Out of frustration, I changed the fuses for the ports anyway and now they work. On closer inspection and actually testing them, a couple were indeed blown. Being that this video is 8 months old, I hope you've figured it out by now.

    • @jayar-outdoors4187
      @jayar-outdoors4187  3 роки тому

      Funny because I haven’t figured it out yet. But I’ll definitely switch out the fuses and see if it works. Thanks for sharing!
