  • Here is a video showing you all the battery saving tips and tricks I have learned to help squeeze every precious ounce of power from your GoPro Hero 5 battery.
    Battery Grip: amzn.to/2gcFrhb
    Short USB-C Cable: amzn.to/2gtZurZ
    Official Hero 5 Black Batteries: amzn.to/2jzgMrl
    I found with the GoPro Hero 5 Black that it had a significant battery drain while the camera was turned off, losing between 5 to 10% battery charge every 24 hours. These tips and tricks help reduce the Hero 5 battery drain as well as maximize your shooting time while using the camera.

    I was using my Hero 5 remotely through my phone and the GOPRO app. I turned the LCD display off. After recording, I forgot to turn the LCD screen back on and stored it for a month or so. Now, I can sync my phone with the Hero 5 and have no way of turning the LCD back on. How do I get the LCD back on?

    I did not get your name, but I thank you so much for this instruction film. My nephew really thanks you as he figures I will probably leave him alone now. He got his daughter a Go Pro 5 Black for her birthday and I have not let him rest wanting advice and how to do this or that. Really I have not done anything before now. You have made a lot of it so simple for a low information tech guy. I am 76 and took 4 yellow pgs. of notes. I plan to take some Jeep road/trail videos this Fall and was beginning to think I woldn't be able too until I saw your website. There are just a couple of questions for you. How long can I let battery remain in cam before I need to take it out. Do I need to reset time and date every time I take battery out of cam? How much does it affect battery life if I don't power down for an hour or so. One more, is the Tek dash mount usb charger all right to use to charge battery in charger and can I use the wall charger that I use on my cell phone to charge batteries?

    Quick capture I found depleted the camera in hours 8 hours to be exact. in the OFF. Brightness , take note when its on standby, when on. The Clutch sits better to the side the Tyoe C cable, I like the type C cable you got is there a link?

    How can you or can you use an external mike while using the hand held battery grip? How do you plug the external mike in since the battery grip and external mike use the same port to plug into?

    • @AirPhotography
      @AirPhotography  6 років тому +1

      When you purchase the GoPro microphone adapter. It has an extra USB seaport on it so you can still power the go Pro while using the microphone

    I understand that GoPro has firmware that will not let you use third party batteries. Does this apply to this battery? I have a hero 5 and would love to get this grip. Good video

    • @AirPhotography
      @AirPhotography  7 років тому +2

      +Bob Virgo you are correct about third-party batteries. However that only applies to internal batteries and not power banks/external batteries. So yes a battery like this will not be affected by the firmware update :)

    When you have the GoPro off for long periods of time, take out the battery because once I left it in for 2 hours all the battery was gone.

    Hello sir Question after filming each scene do you leave your gopro in standby mode or you turn it off after filming each scene? To save battery. Thanks in advance

    • @AirPhotography
      @AirPhotography  6 років тому

      If I am filming scenes frequently within say a Few minute window I will leave it on. Anything longer than that I power it off to conserve battery power 🙂

    btw don't leave the batteries at 100% for more then 3 day's.. and that's for all liion/lipo batteries because they will ruin themselves and puff up.. so best percentage to store A battery at is 45/50%... and also pull the battery out and keep it in A separate compartment... (: I work with Drones And High end hobby grade rc cars so This is very important for me to do because Rc lipo batteries can get very expensive... so yah just A tip

    • @fjellfiskeren7354
      @fjellfiskeren7354 5 років тому

      Rc_ KiNg which is bollocks
      For lithium-ion battery this is not important but for the older lithium battery that is true

    • @fbiagent3399
      @fbiagent3399 5 років тому

      @@fjellfiskeren7354 Well For Lithium polymer Batteries It's Very Important... But The Gopro aftermarket Batteries aren't that expensive and with my creativity lvl I can probably make my own power source/battery for my gopro
