I appreciate your honest review, good job! I too have an LS2 Valient 2 and I agree with the chin pads, they do take a while to compress but the chin pads also make me feel safe and protected too! The chin bar certainly can make the chin area more snug but I did find that by stretching the helmet and pads out with my hands without the chin bar down made an enormous difference on both the bad tightness and how snug the chin bar is. I do find the helmet quite even with the chin bar back and visor open. I normally wear polarized sun glasses which in all other helmets I get teary eyes but not with this helmet. Also, I have found with the chin bar up and the visor up the air flow feels great especially in this 100 degree heat we are having. The helmet does not move around when you look left and right and feels balanced enough that I don't get neck pain. I use a Cardin Edge communication system which fits very well and is clear as a conversation without the helmet. Once the the chin bar and and pads are adjusted physically the helmet has turned it to my favorite. Of which my wife and I both have the identical helmet. Thanks for the review and be safe on your travels.
Thanks for your very complete impressions of this Helmet and I am happy you enjoyed the video. I still have mine but I took all the padding out recently for a washing and it is definitely showing its 4 years of use so it might be time for a replacement. I will most likely go for a open faced with full face shield as I have a Shoei full face for the cooler weather. cheers and safe riding. 👍🇨🇦

Great review, was looking at the LS2 , currently have a Airoh Rides modular helmet for over a year comes with a pinlok and found it to be a great helmet except the noise at highway speeds and the internal visor does not drop down far enough. Not a huge problem just wear ear plugs when needing to use the highway and sunglasses. Live in Australia so the sun is a factor when riding especially when riding into it.
Hey Canuk, I just ordered one from Chromeburner in the Netherlands yesterday. Good to know these weak spots. I've used the LS2 3/4 this year and liked it. Cheek pads are stiff, but provides good support. When i saw this version, I liked only needing one helmet for full and open. I'll add some synthetic silicone lub to all the gear and sliding parts up front. Maybe I can mitigate the issues. I'm in Ontario south of london
That is a good idea to lube those parts. Our dealer never was able to replace or repair my wife's helmet so they just refunded us the purchase price. Thanks for your interest in my channel.
Glad to know about the break in period. I tried on the XL size and I could barely get it on my head. Ended up with a XXL and wearing it for 20 minutes was giving me a headache from pressure points in the forehead area. But I have a little more room in the cheeks. Can't return it now either. I tried on a Sedici XL helmet and it fit like a glove. Not sure whether to post it up for sale or just wear it and hope it breaks in.
I still have mine but I wear it with the chin bar back. I still find it to be a bit snug on my face with the bar forward. It does relax after wearing for a while. So, I have ended up just using it as my "open face" helmet and I bought a Shoe RF SR full face for the cooler weather. That baby fits me like a glove and is very light. Thank you for your comment and for your interest in my channel.
@@1960Murf that is very interesting. I suppose that there was feedback that caused LS2 to offer that. Even after having this helmet for quite some some time I still find the cheek pads tight.
Just got the same helmet LS Valiant II and wore it for a 2 hour ride. The cheek pads felt fine (snug but fine) but my forehead was sore. My fear is that if I get the next size up, it will be too loose in the cheek area. I understand that helmet's have a break-in period - but there just doesn't seem that there is enough padding in the forehead area.
Your are correct about the break in. I though the LS2 was never going to relax. I still like the helmet's variability of the ways it can be worn. The dealer never did replace my wife's helmet and just refunded the purchase to us. BTW she really likes the Shoei. Thanks for your interest in the channel.
I have used this helmet on and off since I bought it but your point about your forehead is the reason it’s not my go to helmet. After a little while wearing it I feel extreme pressure in the middle of my forehead. I have to keep adjusting it to relieve the pain. I thought it was just me so “good’ to hear someone else has the issue. This tells me there is a flaw in the padding. Has yours gotten better?
@@aldrusso2817 I pulled the lining out and shaved some of the material down which did provide alot of relief as well as playing with some additional padding in the forehead area. I bought one yesterday, wore it for 15 minutes in the house, and could notice my forehead getting sore. Took pf the lining and started chipping the material. Feels ok now
I just recently purchased my LS2 Valiant...Like the versatility of converting to an open face helmet and having the chin bar move all the way back...but...my chin bar gearing broke and now ti will only move to the top of the helmet...will not close to the full face position. Dealer is ordering a replacement. I just started to look to see if others have/had the same issue I have with the chin bar.
As you saw in the video that gearing mechanism broke in my wife's helmet also. The dealer did send it back to LS2 and they were unable to replace it in a timely fashion, so the dealer gave us a full refund. I am still using my LS2 but I rarely wear it in the close configuration. It has become my "open faced" helmet. Thanks for your comment and for your interest in the channel.
Thanks for the video. A couple of questions, Does the visor open incrementally for more air flow. Did you have any issues installing the intercom. I would be using a Cardo Spirit..
Thanks for your comment. The visor can be opened partially and it will stay there. It does not have defined detents for partially open positions. I have a Cardo Freecom 2 on this helmet and installed it using the “clamp” option. While the mounting is secure I found that the mount clamp disrupted the reinstallation on the padding. I would recommend using the 3M stick on cradle for the communicator, then you only have to deal with the wire. I used that method on my wife’s Shoei J cruise open face and it was a much cleaner install and is very secure. Good luck with your purchase, ride safe. 👍🇨🇦
@@BikeBoatandTravelOn my current modular helmet I found the boom mike to be the biggest problem. Really disturbed the jaw pads and few places for the velcro.
I know what you mean about the boom. I always have on of those Velcro picture hanging kits around when I am working on the helmets. You can custom cut what you need and they have a very solid attachment.
I checked out the HJC and it looks nice. I believe that all of these these integrated systems on modulars have to stand the test of time. My wife LS2 failed in just over a year, mine is still OK. We are moving away from modulars and using open face with a shield in the warmer weather and full face for the cooler days. The main driver for us is weight. Modulars are heavy including that HJC at 4 lbs (1800+ grams). When I go from my LS2 to my Shoei full face.... it is major difference. Thanks for your comment and for your interest in the channel.
I'm going to disagree with a number of points. I find the helmet rather noisy. I'm on my second Valiant now and I've found them both to last pretty well. It's a pity your wife's helmet didn't last very well. I haven't experienced any issues with the weight, and nor has my wife when she's worn it. But I have heard other reviewers say it's heavy, so maybe I'm in a minority there. I don't know about Canada, but these helmets are well priced in the UK. Good to get some different opinions on it 🍻
The short answer to your question is no. The mechanism of the visor will keep in position if you have to crack it open slightly (I wear glasses also). Also, the ventilation port on the chin bar does provide pretty good air flow. Thanks for your comment and for your interest in the channel.
Very good review. I also own a LS2 Valiant II and have had the same problem with the the left side chin bar hinge. It was repaired under warranty pretty quickly, I think it took about 2 weeks. I do disagree with you as far as noise level, I find the helmet to be very noisy but I can only compare it against my old HJC non-modular 3/4 helmet. The LS2 is a very "warm" helmet which makes it great for winter riding. I'm planning on replacing the LS2 next year and I'm leaning toward the HJC I90 modular helmet.
Thank you for your comment and interest in our channel. I also have only my 1st helmet to compare the LS2 to as far as noise goes. So we will see how the helmets of the future compare. LS2 decided not to repair the helmet we sent back but the helmet was on back order. So, the store gave my wife a full refund for the helmet. She continues to be very happy with her Shoei SF SR.
Important to see information like yours in this good video and not just praise. I'm about to buy an FF900 Sena with a complete communication kit here in Brazil and now I'm in doubt. Very disappointed.
@@BikeBoatandTravel I ended up wanting my helmet set for daily wear in a vacuum. I don't know a substitute for this complete and practical SENA line because it hides the communicator inside the straps. 😒
I just ordered a valiant II in the blue color scheme to replace my old HJC RPHA Modular helmet. With so many choices out there, it took me a while to finally decide on it, but I am hoping for good things!
Thanks for your comment. I hope you enjoy the new helmet. I really like the versatility of being able to fold the chin bar back and let the wind flow. I appreciate your interest in my channel.
Update…… - The helmet was beautiful but unfortunately if you are a intermediate or Long oval head shape, it won’t fit. I unfortunately had to send it back. Ended up going with a Bell Predator modular & it fits great. 😉👍🏻
I am still using the helmet but I wear it mostly with the chin bar back. I still find it squeezes my head and face just a bit too much with the helmet all closed up. I guess I fall into that head shape you are referring to. I ended up getting a full face for cooler weather and the LS2 will be my "open face".
The helmet has a channel in the padding that you can slide the legs of glasses. I wear glasses and they fit in there very easily. Thanks for you interest in the channel.
l got only one prob with mine, its started to peel of the coat of the lock. on that part that goes in the lock. but overall l like the helmet specially in rain its stays clear by the small gap that can leave open ur visor.
Thanks for your comment and for your interest in the channel. I still use my LS2 but with the chin bar back like an open face. I have bought a full face helmet for the cooler weather. Ride Safe 👍🇨🇦
Hey thanks for the review I wished I had seen this two days ago - I just bought this and now I’m having second thoughts after watching your issues…😢 I can send it back not a problem. Question which helmet did you get your wife …? The Shoei Neotec 2 ?
She ended up going away from the modular style all together. We got a full refund for her LS2 as they could not repair or replace it in a timely fashion. We got her a Shoei RF SR full face as it was near the cooler end of our season and the helmet was also much lighter. The following season she got a Shoei J-Cruise open face for the warmer weather riding. I still have my LS2 but I use pretty much 100% open and I also have RF SR full face. Thanks for your comment and for your interest in the channel. 👍🇨🇦
Thanks! Good review. Looked like you have a touring bike? How was the sound behind the fairing? Could you hear the music at higher speeds? In general, how was it at higher speeds? How was the cooling system in warmer weather?
Thanks for you questions. When that was filmed we had Spyder F3, we now have a Spyder RT. Wind noise reduction is far superior on the RT. We don't tend to listen to music when riding. If I do I would be listening on the speakers in my helmet which is good. Overall the helmet performs well at higher speeds in all of its configurations. Fully close is best for noise reduction. I don't really feel the cooling is that great when fully closed. In hot weather I ride with the chin bar back and that works just fine.
Thanks for the video! I was just this close >< to get it. I was orbiting between the LS2 Valiant II and the HJC i90. I guess that while not as cool as the LS2 Valiant II, I'll go with the i90 as Revzilla praises it so much.
I am still using mine, but, I still believe it has to many moving parts. I find I use mostly with the chin bar back and visor down but in the cooler weather I like to have it all closed up.... I think the solution is to have two helmets.... LOL
NICE HELMET, CAN YOU TELL ME THE SIZE THAT I WEAR SIZE 'S' ON SHOEI GT AND HJC IS-16 HELMETS AND SHOULD I BUY A BIGGER SIZE 'M' FOR THIS HELMET INSTEAD OF 'S'. THANKS
Thanks for your comment. I compared the Shoei and the LS2 sizing charts and they are the same. I wear a large in this helmet and using the standard head measurement I am at almost 58 cm. Based on the sizing chart fro LS2 that puts me in the medium size but I would not want to be wearing this helmet at the smaller size. So I would agree that a medium would be good place to start for you. As you know there are a lot of factors that effect how helmets fit.
Great video! I have the horizon version by LS2 and have the same problem with the tightness on the cheeks. Do they break in to be more comfortable or would sizing up be the way to go? I may opt for this helmet so if I do then I'd have to get am XL
I ordered Medium, and I thought it was too tight. I sent it back and got the Large Version, and after 2 Months now, my helmet is too large. So its completely normal if the helmet ist a bit tight within the first month or two.
It came with a Pinlock for the visor. I have never used it. I am curious how you find the fit of the Helmet. As I mentioned in the video I found the break in period to be quite long but it is a good fit for me now. I also like the versatility. Thanks for your interest in the channel.
Thanks for the video! I'm currently on the fence about an LS2 Advant X (I think maybe the successor model?), one thing that I've seen mentioned in reviews was water getting in inside the visor, did you have any issues like that with yours? Thanks!
Why is Lesley wearing her helmet so far leaning backwards...? The top of the cheekpads are at the same level as her eyes and you can see a large piece of her forehead. I think that the helmet has to be moved in a more forward position. This can also be the reason why she feels the helmet's weight....
Thanks for your comments. After looking at the picture you are correct about the position of the helmet on her head. It is not how she wore it normally. The conclusion of the the whole process was that LS2 could not fix or replace her helmet in a timely fashion to our money was refunded. She is very happy with her Shoei and I am still liking the the LS2.
@@BikeBoatandTravel Ah OK, thanks for the reply. I bought a half face a few months ago, also tried on both the shark S drak 2 & the LS2 Bob. You're right, the LS2 seems to take glasses better
Well that has put me off Ls2 helmets I think the tech had overtaken the design and or reliability of some of these modular helmets, I’ve just ordered a neotec 2 in a sale £200 off list, well old list with the neotec three coming on the scene
I would agree with you and you made a good decision. The neotec is a nice helmet both my wife and I have Shoe full face helmets. Very light and comfortable. Thanks for your interest in the channel.

I don't know about Canada, but these helmets are well priced in the UK.
Good to get some different opinions on it 🍻
does the visor have a small first click open for defogging? i wear glasses and its very important.
The short answer to your question is no. The mechanism of the visor will keep in position if you have to crack it open slightly (I wear glasses also). Also, the ventilation port on the chin bar does provide pretty good air flow. Thanks for your comment and for your interest in the channel.
@@BikeBoatandTravel Thanks for the response.

great to a product review from a real user that has time in the can. I might put a couple drops of glue near the vents if glove hands catch.
Thanks for your comment. Since this video LS2 sent me a replacement for that piece of trim and I did exactly as your suggested.
This design is really good for people like me. Who wears specs 😅
Important to see information like yours in this good video and not just praise. I'm about to buy an FF900 Sena with a complete communication kit here in Brazil and now I'm in doubt. Very disappointed.
You are correct. It is not aways the best news. LS2 did not end up repairing or replacing my wife's helmet. She got a full refund.
Are there any other helmets with that feature that allows the front to flip all the way back?
The most popular one would be the Shark EVO. Thank for your interest in the channel.
Registered for 5 year warranty extension, wondering how mine will fair
I am starting my 3rd year with mine. So far so good. Thanks for your interest in the channel.
Voice is familiar. Do you repair, design and build Guitar amplifiers?
No me .... I just play them. Thanks for your interest in my channel
Thank You!👍

Cheers mate!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks…. I appreciate your interest in the channel.
L in neotec 2...whatbi should go...ahhh L or XL
I have a Shoei full face helmet and it is a Large size. So, large would be my recommendation.
Sorry i wanna ask where eyeglass fit system in ls2 ff900.... I not found
The helmet has a channel in the padding that you can slide the legs of glasses. I wear glasses and they fit in there very easily. Thanks for you interest in the channel.
l got only one prob with mine, its started to peel of the coat of the lock. on that part that goes in the lock. but overall l like the helmet specially in rain its stays clear by the small gap that can leave open ur visor.
I am also happy with mine also especially from the versatility perspective. Thanks for you comment.
My wife and me have the same problem after one day and at the store they changed them with other two different helmet.
Thanks for your comment and for your interest in the channel. I still use my LS2 but with the chin bar back like an open face. I have bought a full face helmet for the cooler weather. Ride Safe 👍🇨🇦
I also have it 1 year good helmet but little smaller than average.
So far so good with mine. I like the versatility.
How are the speaker install on this helmet. Noticed your comms on the left side. I have the Sena 30k and worried it wont mount right. Ant info?
I have Cardo communicators in our helmets. There is a recessed area in the helmet where the speakers fit right behind the chin bar.
I have the Cardo Edge in mine and they fit really well.
Appreciated the helmet review. Absolutely hated the "spa~etherial~New Age music"
I am happy you enjoyed the review. Sorry you did no like the music, you can't please everyone. I appreciate your interest in the channel.
LOL
Excellent review. very useful. Thanks a lot.
Thank you for your comment and your interest in the channel.
@@BikeBoatandTravel THANKS FOR YOUR KIND HELP, I WILL BUY THE BIGGER SIZE.
Great video! I have the horizon version by LS2 and have the same problem with the tightness on the cheeks. Do they break in to be more comfortable or would sizing up be the way to go? I may opt for this helmet so if I do then I'd have to get am XL
After the break in I find it to be just fine for me. I would not have wanted to go any bigger in size as the fit of the helmet overall, is good.
I ordered Medium, and I thought it was too tight. I sent it back and got the Large Version, and after 2 Months now, my helmet is too large. So its completely normal if the helmet ist a bit tight within the first month or two.
@@omidk.6470 How big is your head (in cm) my head size sits between M and L (58 cm)
Hi I just got my ls2 villant 2 modular helmet. I would like to know if you got with yours, did you get an extra visor? I did not.
It came with a Pinlock for the visor. I have never used it. I am curious how you find the fit of the Helmet. As I mentioned in the video I found the break in period to be quite long but it is a good fit for me now. I also like the versatility. Thanks for your interest in the channel.
Great review thanks☺️
Thanks very much. LS2 never did repair or replace my wife's helmet. The dealer refunded the purchase price.
Can you crack the visor a bit to get some air?
Yes, the mechanism is stiff enough to hold a slightly open position.
I repiaces cheek pads to slim size fit me !
Great suggestion.
Thanks for the video! I'm currently on the fence about an LS2 Advant X (I think maybe the successor model?), one thing that I've seen mentioned in reviews was water getting in inside the visor, did you have any issues like that with yours? Thanks!
I have not had that issue with the helmet in its open or closed positions. Thanks for your comment and for your interest in the channel. 👍🇨🇦
Why is Lesley wearing her helmet so far leaning backwards...? The top of the cheekpads are at the same level as her eyes and you can see a large piece of her forehead. I think that the helmet has to be moved in a more forward position. This can also be the reason why she feels the helmet's weight....
By moving in a forward position i mean tilting. English is not my native language...
I think Lesly could be the saboteur. Lol
Thanks for the review, mine arrives tomorrow.
Hold the line truckers. From the US, Peace Brothers in Canada.
Hope it works ok for you... Mine is just fine. Thanks for you interest in my channel
Stretch the helmet and pads out with your hands and it'll feel great!
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for you interest in our channel.
Very good
Thanks I am happy you enjoyed it. I will be releasing another helmet video in the coming weeks.... stay tuned.
Great review. Thanks.
I have heard placing your cheek pads between matress overnight helps with breakin. Stay safe
Thanks.... interesting tip on the mattress!!

Thank you!!
any particular reason you picked the LS2 over the Shark?
I tried both and in the store and the LS2 just felt better. I wear glasses and the LS2 seemed to receive them better. Thanks for your comment.
شكرا لك مراجعة جميلة 👍🏻
I am glad you liked the video. Thanks for your interest in my channel.
Great review video, I think I like this helmet a lot, the warranty sounds very good but I can't believe it will take a month to fix. They should have fixed it at the store, order a couple gears put in place in least than a hour. Stay Alert. Ryde Safe in a fun way. Thanks for sharing. Keep on Spydering. 😎🇺🇸.
I was not impressed either. Time for a follow up!!
@@BikeBoatandTravel I do not understand the length of time to repair this helmet under warranty. I am familiar with the company and about one week is the typical turn around time I have seen on repairs whether under warranty or out of warranty. I am in the US, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.
@@1960Murf At the time that we took the helmet back to the dealer LS2 decided that it could not be repaired. Unfortunately at that time the helmet was on back order so the dealer gave us full refund.
I really enjoyed this video really really informative, but I did just wanna say it sounds like your partner might’ve dropped her helmet at some point
If you had comfort issues, then you purchased your helmet to small. They tell you to size up, because they run small.
Perhaps. In the store the size up felt that after the padding relaxed it would be loose. Thanks for your comment.
Those helmets got to big and to heavy!
There have been better times.
The Schuberth C3 (small shell in ECE-version includes even size 59=L) and the AGV Sportsmodular (weight starts at 1295 gr.) will be gone soon and nothing comparable will ever follow. Better get one now...
Thanks for your comment. LS2 never did replace the broken helmet so they just refunded the money. My wife now uses a Shoie J Cruse for her open face and the RF SR when she wants full coverage. Happy wife happy life. 👍.
