If I may be so bold as to add a couple of pieces of information to your very thorough video about the LS2, which is clearly very helpful to your viewers..... I have the LS2 carbon with cardo for about 8months now. the 'brains' of the cardo unit is meant to fit inside the helmet in the back, and charges with a usb-c. Unlike the detatchable cardo units that can be removed from the hemet to be charged in a location different than where the helmet is, the custom cardo unit that fits inside the LS2 helmet has to stay in the helmet while charging. not a big deal, just cant charge it on your nightstand since the helmet is so big. Second.... for better helmet ventilation, i would suggest leaving the chin vent in the open position so that when you flip the chin bar all the way back, the air that comes out of the back of the helmet can continue to exit through the chin vent. another advantage to the LS2 is its 5 year warranty! and one disadvantage i found was that with the clear shield in the up position, the helmet does not vent very well since air doesnt flow into the front vent as well as when the clear shield is down. hoping this info is beneficial to your viewers. As usual, you continue to recommend EXCELLENT products which is why I and so many others trust your opinions. Thank you for putting out such great content!
@@CMFS101you CAN use packtalk edge on the advant x carbon. It’s just challenging to find a good spot to stick it on tue side of tue helmet. It’s a tight fit but I have seen it done. The advant carbon has a space dedicated to put the brains of the LS2 branded Cardo and a smaller controller unit to mount on the side of the helmet. This is my experience with it. However I respectfully defer to @cycle-fanatix for his thoughts on the subject.
@@stevenholmes8016 the Bluetooth isn’t a problem. But music isn’t clear over 70 for me. Likely because I don’t ride w chin bar down I usually ride with an open face. Also I use a windshield and over 70 I start to feel the wind much more significantly.
I purchased the same helmet but the carbon about 6 months ago. I love it. I was rocking a Daytona modular helmet that I bought to replacing an old LS2 helmet. It gives you the option to transition when it’s cold, starts to raining or if you want the wind in your face without the sail you get with the modular. I highly recommend LS2 Advant X.
i rock a 1/2 helmet all day every day. I've been looking for a full face for when it gets cold. I'm tired of getting to work with a frozen face. This video and your passion has sold me.

I purchased the same helmet in white and then added the Cardo system myself. I just got back from a 3400 mile trip on my 24 SG and I have to agree it is a phenomenal helmet. From 40* mornings to 90* afternoons it worked and was so versatile with all weather I encountered. My other modular helmet is a SCHUBERTH and it is not as good as this LS2 as far as functionality. Best money I have ever spent on a helmet by far. Enjoy the videos John, keep them coming.
Picked one up this year in the spring in white. I use the tinted, one of the benefits you didn’t mention (because you keep the clear visor) is how extremely simple it is to swap out the visors. Great helmet. Excellent review .

I have this in the carbon version with the cardo. Great set up. Been tempted to try the HJC i100 but am happy enough with the LS2 that I see no reason to change. It really is a great set up.

Agree I have the LS2 in White but not the Advent X version. However the whole package is so awesome and real quiet and comfortable. I installed the Cardo on mine and the fit works great and can here everything.

Got the LS2 Valiant II. Pretty much same helmet. All my crew keeps complimenting and loved it. I love it. Has several tint shields available. Best helmet by far for modular.

Nice helmet for sure! I continue to always reach for my Daytona 3/4 helmet. I have a white for summer, it reflects the heat. Also, bought a clear Anti-Fog Biltwell bubble shield for the rain and cold. Just leave it in my saddlebag with my rain gear. I also sprayed it with Rain-X for plastic to help bead off the rain.

Great video John. My previous helmet was a Shark that had the same functions but, went with the Schuberth C3 Pro as it was a much quieter helmet than the Shark Evo One 2 and i typically listen to music through the helmet speakers. Love that chin bar feature. Will have to check out the LS2.

I wore an lS2 on a 4,000 mile trip Phoenix to Canada and back. Worked great, mostly with chin rotated back, and tinted visor during day and clear visor at night. Fit my prescription glasses OK underneath. My only complaint was that tinted visor was fragile - I dropped the helmet (once, falling off the side mirror) and the tinted visor got off its track, so it did not hold position and did not go up and down properly. I managed to get it back on, but now it pops off easily. I also wonder about crash safety.
Appreciate the comparison when standing on ur Harley at 70-80 mph. See it done all the time and always wondered how those guys felt with their modular helmets fully open. 🤔😉🤪
Just mounted my Senna on mine, been rocking it for about 3 months, and totally agree. I am getting a little water and air leakage on the top vent when closed though.
There must be a lot of converts in the UK, I've been trying to get the Carbon with 4X pre-installed for months and still no luck finding a supplier. Even the Carbon without Comms is like hens teeth to get hold of in the UK. Great video. :)
I'll be interested in your review of the Carbon version. Just got mine yesterday. I could have gotten the base model with Cardo from my Harley dealer much cheaper but did not want to regret it later that I passed on the better version with Cardo. Thought the Carbon would be lighter that it is so will be interested in your comparison versus the regular Advant X
The kid that rode from Oklahoma was cool. I do believe the state says 300cc limit though. Also that license may not be honored in other states. His dad was cool and very protective I’m sure
I own a full face ls2 carbon,non modular and I like it. I tried the ls2 Advent . The helmet was comfortable and fit right,but my only complaint that I had was it was too wide on the side for me. Otherwise the ls2 brand is quality Thanks.
I have a Sedici Sistema and it is getting to be time to replace it. I use LS2 snowmobile gear in my Sedici for winter riding. While I like the Sistema 2, I may move to the Advant X instead. It has the full flip and ECE 22.06 rating that I want. This wasn't on my radar before, but it sure is now.
I like the design of this helmet. My wife had been wanting a new helmet and she wanted a modular this time. We initially looked at the Shoei and HJC and she didn't like either. So we went to a local Cycle Gear and she tried the LS2 Advant on as well as a Bell.. and then we discovered a Schuberth C3 and she fell in love with it.. but they didn't have her size (xs). So we ended up going online to order it and discovered Schuberth had an upgraded C5 and thats what we ended up getting her. She really loves it. I'm thinking I may go to Cycle Gear and try on the Schuberth now too. Her new helmet is super premium. But I really like the design of the LS2 and how the chin bar goes all the way back. Thats a nice feature. FYI.. the HJC i100 has the same feature.
I have the LS2 Advant X Carbon with the Cardo unit, and I love it! One thing you forgot to mention, is how easy it is to change out the visor. Way easier than other helmets!

Usually tight fit with glasses for wearing, so usually use a 3/4 helmet year around. How does modular helmets work with glasses compared to a regular full face

The warnings on modular helmets Tell you not to ride with the chin bar up. In the event of a slide, the chin bar can catch on something and break your neck.

Im currently using a Scorpion Covert X and its similar in its versatility but in order to convert it, you have to remove/add pieces. its not too much of a problem since ive got bags to store them in, but man that LS2 looks nice! Any knowledge on how well the Cardo system works with it, and with other riders in a group?

I wanted to ask about the helmet size you chose! did you choose the number based on the exact measurement of your head circumference? or did you choose a larger size for greater comfort? I have seen in a similar video that someone who used it mentioned that he had to choose a bigger number because he was pushing it left and right after a long time of use! so i'm a bit confused as to what size to choose, the measurement i've taken is 56.5-57cm or 22.2-22.4in
Light and beautiful. Definitely all you need to know before buying a helmet. How safe is it? Is safety really irrelevant? It is tested under Chinas "strict " safety norms. (pretty much as strict as American norms).
I’ve been using the LS 2 and the Shark helmet which is the same design. I don’t believe any of the modular helmets that only lift to the forehead are not designed to be use for riding in that open position. It’s mainly for drinking and eating without removing the helmet.
I"ve been using the AGV Sport Modular Carbon Fiber for over 3 years now. Super light and comfortable. Wind noise is not the best but that's to be expected with such a light helmet. I thought I would upgrade to the Shoei Neotec 3 so I ordered one, tried it out, and HATED it! It was the most uncomfortable helmet I've ever wore. The liner pressed so hard against the front part of my middle ears, I could still feel it an hour after I took it off. The mechanism to open up the helmet is cumbersome and hard to manipulate with gloves. You have to pinch it with two fingers where as the AGC only requires you to pull up with it under the chin. The ratchet strap has to be the worst design ever for a helmet. It's very uncomfortable and cuts into your neck and, unlike a D ring, you have no way to locket it to your bike under the seat. You have to carry a separate cable lock and run it through your face shield. The Shoei Neotec 3 wasn't any quieter than the AGV, which was a surprise to me.
Hey John. Excellent review. I also have a modular helmet but it's more of a conventional modular like Sandy or Danny 's. No matter which full face helmet I seem to pick. I find them louder than a 3/4 or smaller helmet. Do you wear ear plugs or other ear protection when you ride?
I don’t know if I missed it or you didn’t mention it . With the chin bar closed does the clear shield ratchet open & closed in multiple positions or is it just fully opened and fully closed ?
SO HARD to even consider this helmet as I am a full on helmet SNOB!! LOLZ. I have an AGV Sportmodular Carbon that I like, but they are not meant to be run completely open (I dont think the Bell is either). The only other helmets I own are Arai... I cant beleive I am considering an LS2... 😛. Thanks John!!
How does it do in the rain? I had a different helmet that was similar and leaked. I love the functionality of this helmet but if it’s going to leak down the visor I will look for something else.
I have an LS2 Advant X Carbon. Am I the only one that feels the chin strap is actually a neck strap? It's like it hook around my adams apple instead of my chin..lol. If I look down it pulls up on my throat..which is not cool. I just leave it very loose and maybe that's the idea?? None of my previous helmets did this. Just wanted to see if anyone else feels the same way. Peace!
Just received same yesterday but am a little disappointed in the weight. IMO the Carbon should be much lighter and I think they may play games with the weight on the LS2 site. My bathroom scale says 4 lbs and I expected closer to 3. Could have gotten the base model with Cardo much cheaper at my Harley dealer but did not want to regret that I didn't pick up the better version. However love the look especially with the dark smoke. Haven't ridden yet but expect to this weekend despite the rain. Full face should help with that. Not disappointed at all with the sound quality and operation of the bluetooth system. Fits true to size also. There are UA-cam videos that complain that it runs tight but my large fits just right.
I wear a Bell modular and ride it ALL DAY long with the shin up. All day... The ONLY time it catches wind is if I forgot to close the visor first, but with the visor closed and the whole modular front up there is ZERO problems. Not really sure what you are talking about there with the Bell at least. All day long with the the modular front open. city and highways.
I'm needing a new setup. Be hard not to get Bell. Definitely going to check this one out. How loud does it rock your brain. I like to rock. Thank you for sharing 🙏 I'm sold. Might have to wait for Christmas
Hi John! Great video as always. I wear a white Schuberth C3 Pro modular which is super quiet but I still wear noise limiting earplugs. Even though I live in southeastern Arizona I don’t ride with the chin bar up. The Schuberth ventilates really well. I’ve had a LS2 Valiant modular since 2018. Time to get a new one.
I started with the Valiant, now I'm running the regular Advant. Safety rated on both open and closed position. I really like this helmet as well.

I do have LS2 Valiant 2 helmet but little heavy and hurt back of my neck weight 3.55! So I doing research on lightweight helmet!!

I own a full face ls2 carbon,non modular and I like it. I tried the ls2 Advent . The helmet was comfortable and fit right,but my only complaint that I had was it was too wide on the side for me. Otherwise the ls2 brand is quality

I have a Sedici Sistema and it is getting to be time to replace it. I use LS2 snowmobile gear in my Sedici for winter riding. While I like the Sistema 2, I may move to the Advant X instead. It has the full flip and ECE 22.06 rating that I want. This wasn't on my radar before, but it sure is now.

I like the design of this helmet. My wife had been wanting a new helmet and she wanted a modular this time. We initially looked at the Shoei and HJC and she didn't like either. So we went to a local Cycle Gear and she tried the LS2 Advant on as well as a Bell.. and then we discovered a Schuberth C3 and she fell in love with it.. but they didn't have her size (xs). So we ended up going online to order it and discovered Schuberth had an upgraded C5 and thats what we ended up getting her. She really loves it. I'm thinking I may go to Cycle Gear and try on the Schuberth now too. Her new helmet is super premium. But I really like the design of the LS2 and how the chin bar goes all the way back. Thats a nice feature. FYI.. the HJC i100 has the same feature.

I have the LS2 Advant X Carbon with the Cardo unit, and I love it! One thing you forgot to mention, is how easy it is to change out the visor. Way easier than other helmets!
Mine came with 2 visors clear and smoke, and 1 pinlock. Had to order second pinlock from UK 😂 Noone here has it

They are jbl speakers.
Usually tight fit with glasses for wearing, so usually use a 3/4 helmet year around.
How does modular helmets work with glasses compared to a regular full face

I wear my glasses with this helmet, no interference with either visor.
The warnings on modular helmets Tell you not to ride with the chin bar up.
In the event of a slide, the chin bar can catch on something and break your neck.

Im definitely adding this helmet to my cart. Im currently using a Scorpion Covert X and its similar in its versatility but in order to convert it, you have to remove/add pieces. its not too much of a problem since ive got bags to store them in, but man that LS2 looks nice! Any knowledge on how well the Cardo system works with it, and with other riders in a group?
With the chin gard and clear lens down can you just flip the clear lens up without rotating the intire chin gard????

did you choose the number based on the exact measurement of your head circumference? or did you choose a larger size for greater comfort? I have seen in a similar video that someone who used it mentioned that he had to choose a bigger number because he was pushing it left and right after a long time of use!
so i'm a bit confused as to what size to choose, the measurement i've taken is 56.5-57cm or 22.2-22.4in

It is tested under Chinas "strict " safety norms. (pretty much as strict as American norms).
I’ve been using the LS 2 and the Shark helmet which is the same design. I don’t believe any of the modular helmets that only lift to the forehead are not designed to be use for riding in that open position. It’s mainly for drinking and eating without removing the helmet.
Looking good, but dang Cole, clean those tracks out before you start having problems, like jumping a track

I"ve been using the AGV Sport Modular Carbon Fiber for over 3 years now. Super light and comfortable. Wind noise is not the best but that's to be expected with such a light helmet.
I thought I would upgrade to the Shoei Neotec 3 so I ordered one, tried it out, and HATED it! It was the most uncomfortable helmet I've ever wore. The liner pressed so hard against the front part of my middle ears, I could still feel it an hour after I took it off. The mechanism to open up the helmet is cumbersome and hard to manipulate with gloves. You have to pinch it with two fingers where as the AGC only requires you to pull up with it under the chin. The ratchet strap has to be the worst design ever for a helmet. It's very uncomfortable and cuts into your neck and, unlike a D ring, you have no way to locket it to your bike under the seat. You have to carry a separate cable lock and run it through your face shield. The Shoei Neotec 3 wasn't any quieter than the AGV, which was a surprise to me.

Hey John. Excellent review. I also have a modular helmet but it's more of a conventional modular like Sandy or Danny 's. No matter which full face helmet I seem to pick. I find them louder than a 3/4 or smaller helmet. Do you wear ear plugs or other ear protection when you ride?

With the chin bar closed does the clear shield ratchet open & closed in multiple positions or is it just fully opened and fully closed ?
It’s pretty stiff, but it doesn’t feel like it has ratcheting

SO HARD to even consider this helmet as I am a full on helmet SNOB!! LOLZ. I have an AGV Sportmodular Carbon that I like, but they are not meant to be run completely open (I dont think the Bell is either). The only other helmets I own are Arai... I cant beleive I am considering an LS2... 😛. Thanks John!!

How does it do in the rain? I had a different helmet that was similar and leaked. I love the functionality of this helmet but if it’s going to leak down the visor I will look for something else.

I have an LS2 Advant X Carbon. Am I the only one that feels the chin strap is actually a neck strap? It's like it hook around my adams apple instead of my chin..lol. If I look down it pulls up on my throat..which is not cool. I just leave it very loose and maybe that's the idea?? None of my previous helmets did this. Just wanted to see if anyone else feels the same way. Peace!

my LS2 Carbon with Cardo
Just received same yesterday but am a little disappointed in the weight. IMO the Carbon should be much lighter and I think they may play games with the weight on the LS2 site. My bathroom scale says 4 lbs and I expected closer to 3. Could have gotten the base model with Cardo much cheaper at my Harley dealer but did not want to regret that I didn't pick up the better version. However love the look especially with the dark smoke. Haven't ridden yet but expect to this weekend despite the rain. Full face should help with that. Not disappointed at all with the sound quality and operation of the bluetooth system. Fits true to size also. There are UA-cam videos that complain that it runs tight but my large fits just right.
What's the difference between the LS2 Advant X and the LS2 Advant, apart from price ??
I wear a Bell modular and ride it ALL DAY long with the shin up. All day... The ONLY time it catches wind is if I forgot to close the visor first, but with the visor closed and the whole modular front up there is ZERO problems. Not really sure what you are talking about there with the Bell at least. All day long with the the modular front open. city and highways.
Is the inner visor safety rated? My HJC91 inner visor is not safety rated.
There is also an advant (non x) version for cheaper.... less agg looking though

Hi John! Great video as always. I wear a white Schuberth C3 Pro modular which is super quiet but I still wear noise limiting earplugs. Even though I live in southeastern Arizona I don’t ride with the chin bar up. The Schuberth ventilates really well. I am going to look into the LS2 because I like the chin bar being able to move all the way back. Thanks again.
