A lot of covers are either packed with emotion yet sloppy, or super technical and perfect minus any passion or fun. Bravo man. From one drummer to another, totally inspired. Not only is it a flawless note for note transcription of some really complex drum parts, but it perfectly captures the emotion and energy of the track. I always know a cover is great when it inspires me to try and learn the song myself. I'm gonna use your video to help figure out the parts. Thank you so much for making this!

You have no idea. Each of those camera angles is a completely separate take. I only had one camera available to work with haha. The sweat towards the end is REAL.
+Mikeyfresh94 Good question! I use Shure SM57s on my snare, rack, and floor tom and a Beta 52 for my kick. AKG C214s are overhead picking up the kit while a Rode NT1A and an MXL 990 pick up the room! Lastly, I have MXL 991 on the hi hat

There's no point of a drum cover if you're going to run the original track so hot that it's difficult to differentiate between your kit and the original.
There's an entire section in this cover, starting at around 4:03 that is completely my drums. I faded out the track on cul-de-sac and had a metronome count me in for the start of "Funeral" so that I hit it directly on beat. Hopefully, hearing that section up until when you actually hear the track come back in will help differentiate what sounds are coming from my kit and which are the song itself. I like to mix my drums as if they were mixing into the track itself instead of standing on top of it. That could be just a preference on my end. Regardless, I thank you for taking the time to view and comment. Can always keep improving and I'll use your comment to do exactly that!
