Prolly no one cares what I think, but the feeling Soupy puts behind singing his heart out on this track grabs me. Great art like this evokes real emotion. Hope you all find art that speaks to you and makes you feel something!
This is an incredible band who are incredibly under-discovered and therefore under-appreciated! This is a very special album, front to back. Let's do our best to make sure we are sharing these songs with those who we know appreciate and love good music!
Those in the community realise how elite this album is to be honest. It took me years but when it clicked, it was incredible. Every song has a purpose. That closer is just phenomenal.
This is really a beautiful summary of the last 3 albums. Mike's death really ate up Soupy, and now after 3+ years and 3 albums about the war inside is head he can really move on.
[Verse 1] I've been leaving messages On an answering machine In a house that's always empty, so I know nobody's listening I've been confessing my transgressions over tape hiss The silence makes me sick No good can come from this [Chorus] I'm letting go I've been hanging on like poison ivy Out of cold suburban concrete From this careless urban sprawl I'm letting go You know we can't keep out of trouble I thought my kids would call you uncle I thought we'd never be alone [Verse 2] Well I got images Of you inside my head Outside of the gas station where we always used to shoplift It's car-crash rhetoric We fucked up everything we came in contact with Just boyhood recklessness [Chorus] I'm letting go I've been hanging on like poison ivy Out of cold suburban concrete From this careless urban sprawl I'm letting go You know we can't keep out of trouble I thought my kids would call you uncle I thought we'd never be alone [Bridge] If you walked me home Then you'd know how weak my arms got I just can't carry you If you walked me home Well, I know that I'd have flashbacks Of snow angels and gut laughs If you walked me home But you won't, you're all alone On some bullshit, pill-bottle vision quest If you walked me home Well, I don't know when I would finally Work up the backbone To walk alone [Outro] I’m letting go 'Cause I loved you But I have to I'm letting go You know we can't keep out of trouble I thought my kids would call you uncle I thought we'd never be alone I’m letting go (If you walked me home...)
I had to cut loose one of my closest friends, today. He OD'd, in May, was 30 days sober, entered a sober house and has gone right back to it. He's lying and using his friends again. I reached my breaking point. This song is helping me process this
I've seen some people discuss whether the Wonder Years' lyrics can be related to. I think they can be, very much so, even if it's not the theme of the song, but just a verse or lyric. In this case, I doubt everyone can relate to the theme of this song, having that really close friend you see being there for you always and you one day, unexpectedly grow apart. Even if I can't relate to it myself, the lyrics paint such vivid imagery and Soupy sings it so damn good, I feel like it DID happen to me.
Although people might not like Kanye he's one of music's most talented artists. I didn't even know The Story So Far had a new album, I'll have to check it out, pretty stoked to see them at Warped Tour this year.
Yeah, I'll agree actually, it's all missing heart, it's good, but it's missing heart. With out the exception of the new My Bloody Valentine album. But for sure The Greatest Generation is my fave. pop-punk album this year.
The Story So Far should have had Soupy in a song in What You Don't See, and The Wonder Years should have had Parker in a song on The Greatest Generation.

some people spent their whole life in shacks, apartments, and rented spaces. some people spent their life in the suburban sanctuaries that others will never know. in other-words this song is written from the perspective of the Kanker Sisters whom have such a fetishized idea of the Ed's because of their suburban status. a cul-de-sac is just a residential street that caps and rounds off. you only really see them in middle to upper class suburban planning. that's where the show takes place....similar in ways to Hey Arnold's vacant lot.
If you have listened to the Warped Tour album, it actually DOES say "knocked up." The reason for this is because the album is the edited version of the song, but, instead of blurring "fucked up," they replace it with "knocked up."
Amazon can't leave it alone. Little by little more and more annoying ads. MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY How much is enough?
the if you walked me home part is like an eargasm for me
I appreciate you very much
lol fellow metalhead who can get down to some The Wonder Years

I love this band. Their music hits me deep on a totally different level from a lot of other bands.. This song especially.
For me its all about a friend I had that I almost lost to drugs. Happy to say he is free and clear and happier than I've ever seen him.
"There's nothing wrong with us guys needing eachother."- Kazuma Kuwabara
This is really a beautiful summary of the last 3 albums. Mike's death really ate up Soupy, and now after 3+ years and 3 albums about the war inside is head he can really move on.
Saw them perform this in Philly on Saturday, live sounds exactly like the studio. Probably the best concert I've ever been to.
This album and the upsides got me through some difficult times thanks dudes
this song has gotten me through so much. one of the best songs of all time tbh
This song is sooooo goood. Such a deep meaning ..
I didn't think it was possible to love an album more than I loved "Suburbia: I've Given You All And Now I'm Nothing", BUT OH MY GOD I DO. SO MUCH.
Reminds me of late night trips to my girlfriends house. Why can't time linger? It always has to speed by
That’s actually really deep
I got to see them live last night and they played this song and I'm already in love with this music.
nearly 2016 and it still gives me chills
+mnikolaas Now it's 2016 it is still giving me chills

The best pop punk song of the year . .
still miss you mike
This song is such a great transition to the end of the album
Saw them live last night in Milwaukee. Stunning
[Verse 1]
I've been leaving messages
On an answering machine
In a house that's always empty, so I know nobody's listening
I've been confessing my transgressions over tape hiss
The silence makes me sick
No good can come from this
[Chorus]
I'm letting go
I've been hanging on like poison ivy
Out of cold suburban concrete
From this careless urban sprawl
I'm letting go
You know we can't keep out of trouble
I thought my kids would call you uncle
I thought we'd never be alone
[Verse 2]
Well I got images
Of you inside my head
Outside of the gas station where we always used to shoplift
It's car-crash rhetoric
We fucked up everything we came in contact with
Just boyhood recklessness
[Chorus]
I'm letting go
I've been hanging on like poison ivy
Out of cold suburban concrete
From this careless urban sprawl
I'm letting go
You know we can't keep out of trouble
I thought my kids would call you uncle
I thought we'd never be alone
[Bridge]
If you walked me home
Then you'd know how weak my arms got
I just can't carry you
If you walked me home
Well, I know that I'd have flashbacks
Of snow angels and gut laughs
If you walked me home
But you won't, you're all alone
On some bullshit, pill-bottle vision quest
If you walked me home
Well, I don't know when I would finally
Work up the backbone
To walk alone
[Outro]
I’m letting go
'Cause I loved you
But I have to
I'm letting go
You know we can't keep out of trouble
I thought my kids would call you uncle
I thought we'd never be alone
I’m letting go
(If you walked me home...)

I’m sorry. You did the right thing
You need to be there for him if you really care about him. Don't enable but don't stop caring, you know?
@@stevenglansberg4448 Respectfully, you don't know my situation
@@AJZ0626 Just saying, addiction is a disease. Would you do the same thing if he had depression or anxiety, diabetes or cancer?
@@stevenglansberg4448 You are aware that this song is about cutting out a friend, who is an addict, right?
Most underrated song on the album
DEFINITELY going to be the best album out all year!
I never knew how to spell Cul-De-Sac before this song
Probably going to be the best album out all year!
I have found my soundtrack to this years summer, thank god this'll be out soon, the waiting's been killing me.
CARELESS URBAN SPRAWL👌🏻
I can't believe I just started listening to these guys. So fucking good.
I freaking love this band
I've seen some people discuss whether the Wonder Years' lyrics can be related to. I think they can be, very much so, even if it's not the theme of the song, but just a verse or lyric. Probably the most underrated song on the album
this album already feels like home.
Summer 2013 !
Such a fucking underrated song, Josh’s vocals are beautiful here
"If you walked me home, but you won't you're all alone, on some bullshit pill bottle vision quest." Damn what a line
a change in sound is always good, if executed correctly.
This totally referenced You Make Me Want To Be A Saint & We Won't Bury You
i dont know dude, this year is stacked. we'll have to see what ManO has to put out.
Although people might not like Kanye he's one of music's most talented artists. I didn't even know The Story So Far had a new album, I'll have to check it out, pretty stoked to see them at Warped Tour this year.
THANK YOU BASED WONDER YEARS
ok. then yes!!! The Greatest Generation. Best pop-punk album of the year!!!!! :D
Haha, anyone else catch repeated lyrics from the song "You're Not Salinger Get Over It"...he says "this careless urban sprawl".
Everything he says I can relate to.
Mads R its a sad reality how so many of us can relate to this song. It's so heartfelt.
It's got some stiff competition with that new streetlight album
sick drumming!
My buddy is covering this at a band competition soon, I can't wait!
4 more days. Be still, my beating heart.
Can someone find a bass tab or cover this on bass I want to know how to play this. Also a drum cover would be rad this song has perfect drums.
can somebody gimmie peace of mind and tell me that's the lead singer of Red City Radio backing up the chorus. that bands raddd!
This album should be renamed 'The Greatest Album'.
If you walked me homeeeeee!
I love The Wonder Years. But the artists I mentioned are on a whole different level of artistic ability.
Yeah, I'll agree actually, it's all missing heart, it's good, but it's missing heart. With out the exception of the new My Bloody Valentine album. But for sure The Greatest Generation is my fave. pop-punk album this year.
It's in the playlist...you just can't see it on the sidebar
This are this
"If you walked me home, then you'd know how weak my arms get. I just can't carry you." Fuck.
The Story So Far should have had Soupy in a song in What You Don't See, and The Wonder Years should have had Parker in a song on The Greatest Generation.
WOW
Doubt it. My Bloody Valentine, Kanye West, Flaming Lips, Vampire Weekend, M.I.A, Black Sabbath, Daft Punk all have new albums coming out this year.
this song captures like every type of feeling of and just sounds straight up like summer, like loud radio and driving with the windows down
para que descargar en iTunes si puedo descargar gratis su video y convertirlo en mp3 xD JAJAJ
This song is me and my dad period.
Black Sabbaths 13 probably beats all of these for me, but the wonder years are my second favorite band. So yea.
Before I logged on to make this comment, youtube was already displaying the videos I'd recently viewed. How far can google go before violation of privacy becomes a criminal offense?
oh my gosh! i love the wonder years, but the new streetlight album honestly was amazing and i can't even describe it. haha
Ed Edd n Eddy anyone? or just me? ok....
some people spent their whole life in shacks, apartments, and rented spaces.
some people spent their life in the suburban sanctuaries that others will never know.
in other-words this song is written from the perspective of the Kanker Sisters whom have such a fetishized idea of the Ed's because of their suburban status.
a cul-de-sac is just a residential street that caps and rounds off. you only really see them in middle to upper class suburban planning. that's where the show takes place....similar in ways to Hey Arnold's vacant lot.
YES! that's my childhood right there!
lol I thought the same thing
I thought it said "we knocked up everything we came in contact with" xD oops
If you have listened to the Warped Tour album, it actually DOES say "knocked up." The reason for this is because the album is the edited version of the song, but, instead of blurring "fucked up," they replace it with "knocked up."
Between this and What You Don't See, this has been a great year for pop punk. And I don't even like pop punk.
Like the one in your profile picture?
And You're Not Salinger with "Careless urban sprawl"!
i don't know. Where I Left You was extremely good for Man Overboard and it still doesn't come close to anything on this record
i think he was talking about in the pop punk community lol
Some call that "progression".... I call it jumping on the latest trend,
oh cool, welp josh nailed it on this one. kinda sounds like em i think.
There’s something about this song ...
nope its just Josh, the bassist
#YEEZUS
Take out Kanye West and I'd kind of agree, What You Don't See from The Story So Far is my favourite so far
Pshhh this has more heart then all those artists... not to mention the music is simply better.
i feel like they do with heart attack
omg i skipped one... mehhhhh
I retraced the comments just to say...mehhhhh
so what
I love Man Overboard but i don't think they have the talent or lyrical ability to beat this album
This is the most underrated song on the album
For real but also these guys deserve so much more attention. This entire album is incredible.
