A very kind whisky friend, Jason, sent us these blind whisky/whiskey samples to try and make guesses at what they were. We didn't get them spot on but we didn't do too badly we don't think?! But we'll let you judge!
SPOILER ALLERT - Blinds Revealed Below!
Dram 1 - Green Spot Château Montelena Zinfandel Wine Cask Finish (Matured in bourbon and sherry then finished in French Oak Zinfandel Wine Casks from Napa Valley, California and bottled at 46% abv)
Dram 2 - Glen Ord, Signatory bottling 2008 13 year old (Bottled from 2 hogsheads, entire maturation and bottled at 46% abv)
Dram 3 - Glenallachie Carn Mor Strictly Limited (distilled in 2013 and matured in a Pedro Ximenez hogshead from 8 years before bottling in 2022 at 47.5% abv)

Super video ladies, I have to say there are some lovely Irish whiskies out there, love the redbreast cask strength, amazing dram. I have never tried Glen Ord and now I am not sure whether I ever want too 😂😂
We tried the Redbreast Cask Strength and 15 Year Old after them being recommended in our comments! We loved them both and I think they have become our favourite Irish Whiskies along with Drumshanbo!

Brilliant blind tasting, it is great showing how different a whisky can be when going in without the preconceptions of the bottle. Always a great way to find new favourites! Cheers.

Good on you girls for taking on a blind tasting. It is extremely rare for any to get any bottles bang on....especially if they are specific cask finishes. But you were definitely in the ball park, so good on you!
