- Glengoyne 15 Year Old & 18 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Review
A couple of weeks ago Kerry and Jen went on a wee day out to one of our local distilleries, Glengoyne and had a great tour with Arthur. They got some samples to bring back and share with Rachel so today we are trying the new 15 year old and the 18 year old that has been a favourite of Rachels for a few years now. Both are bourbon and sherry cask and both are chill filtered and bottled at 43% abv.
What do you think of Glengoyne whisky? Which expressions are your favourites and have you had a chance to visit the distillery? Let us know in the comments!
We do in person and virtual tastings. Follow the link to book on! We'd Love to see you there! callander-drin...

I had so much fun on this tour! Arthur was such a good guide. I bought a bottle of the 15. Apple pie, lemon citrus and toffee popcorn. So tasty!
Jack & Victor visiting Glengoyne was one of my favorite bits from the series.
That must be the most talked about bit of still game!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Ladies
Informative and entertaining as usual and the extra facts makes your reviews all the more interesting.
If my Scotland trip brings me near Callander later on this week, I might step into the shop. (No promises yet).
Slàinte mhath
Hollyday, rainy, Scotland, yes checks.
I purchased the 18 YO here in Canada about 6 years ago....and opened it on New Years a couple years ago and really enjoyed the taste.
The 18 is lovely and a great New Years dram!
Oh man, a free bottle of Glengoyne 15 year for eight hours of volunteer work. I do that in a heartbeat. Glengoyne 15 year is now $110 USD before tax at my local store.
My friend Tim Glen, who now has his own region, is bringing out a new whisky line called GlensGroin. His first release is GlensGroin 10, but I suspect he's exaggerating. In fact, his wife has hinted it should be more like a 5 Wee Beastie or even an Inchmoan.
😅😅😅👍🥂🙋🏻♂️
😂🤣😂
Would've loved to have seen these compared to the 10 just as a baseline. Great review!
The best Glengoyne i have tasted was a 14-year-old exclusive to M&S
Hi , By Glengoyne is a Pipe from the Stillhouse to the Warehouse . The Cask are filled in the Warehouse. I had a Tour in March .
Ah thanks for the info! I've toured it may times but I actually don't think they've mentioned it, or I've forgotten!
Great video, you two! 🙂
Thank you! 😃
My mum used to live in a little village called Balfron & you used to drive by the distillery on the road from Glasgow. I never took the tour but she bought me a couple of bottles of the 17yo back in the mid 90's. Wasn't so much into whisky back then but I remember me & my flatmate really enjoying a bottle after a heavy night at The Arches ... good times
Ah yes, I know Balfron well!
If you enjoyed the 18 try the 21 or better 25 ... But the teapot dram ist even better. And the good Thing it is available again since monday.
The 21 was one that got me into whisky!
chill filtered ,, oh dear ;;
😌
A few years ago I did the Masterclass day at Glengoyne and I still have just over half of the 200ml I blended on the day... Have you tried their Teapot Dram at all?
The latest batch 9 dropped on the 22nd for £140 I got one if you want a sample swap I'm the other side of Bromley.
Tried it in our latest video!
So the 12 years old is still missing. I'm curious how you would compare it to the 10 and 15.
We love the 12! We tried it at the distillery during our visit there, you can check it out here - ua-cam.com/video/ZrUTq_3pJvk/v-deo.html
@@TheGrailTastings Yeah, your distillery tour video is nice. A younger Glengoyne, I think it was the Vintage Edition 1997, was the door opener into whisky for me. Regarding the current range, I agree with the tour guide and I also like the 18 years old the best. It has a good balance between oak and fruitiness.
