This has helped me from going into full-blown episodes. As soon as the dizziness hits, I immediately drop to the floor and perform this maneuver. I think it has saved my sanity as well as keeping me out of bed all day.
I did the other metod 3 times and happened again and again and I did this one just one time and boom! Is gone! It's been 3 years and free of BPPV. 🎉
Yeesss! That’s awesome!
@@bananabreadloafbecause this technique has been around a while. Probably tried it back then.
@@bananabreadloaf exactly I posted this comment 3 years later.

I am gonna try today...
This is my first time I got BPPV, I was vomiting alot because I felt so 😵 dizzy when I wake up this morning... But I did this technique and it worked 🎉Thank you so much❤ I thougt I'm gonna die but you helped me, thank you so so much, doctor❤❤
You’re welcome! I’m so glad you got relief!
Excellent - thank you so much for this brief, concise presentation. Little worse than needing fast relief from a condition and then having to listen to 5 minutes of torture intro, etc waiting for the helpful part to start. New subscriber. Thanks a million
I hate long videos when the main point can be presented concisely. I based by channel on this. Thanks for the sub!
I was skeptical but this really worked!! I was in the throws of vertigo and thought to try this. I am truly amazed and thankful!
works like charm, glad you took the chance and tried it!
Thank you so so much Sir! I suffered from BPPV since years. Luckily I saw your video, And did the movements for both sides many times. After 2 days, I am getting much better, almost normal again. I also tried other movements before, but yours work better for me. Thank you 🙏 ❤🎉!
That’s great! So glad you’re getting relief, thanks for sharing!

Hooray! So glad it’s been helpful!
This actually helpped me 3 years ago it may or may not have been your video but I was dog sitting for my son in Colorado Springs & he was in Hawaii and I live in Florida I didn’t know anyone that could help me drive to the dr or anything so I looked up ways to get rid of vertigo and thank God it helpped.
So glad it helped! Thanks for sharing!
God sent! Took me 2 days of trying. Finally got it! Woke up this morning for the first time in a week without any dizziness. Haven't had any spells in the last 2 days 👌🏻
Hooray, so glad it worked! Thanks for sharing!
@stronglifephysiotherapy as a young active/healthy man it was quite frightening to wake up like that and continue feeling it. Getting through the exercise is brutal but almost instant relief. Was slightly light headed for the rest of the day after but have felt great ever since! Thank you for the great tutorial!
This worked like a charm!!! This is the 3rd time I've experienced bppv and it went away the first try. So much less scarier than the epley maneuver
Just did this , it has saved me as I have been unable to do anything for myself and unable to take care of my children. I would get panic attacks when the dizziness would start, and now I feel much much better, thank you ❤
Hooray! Thanks for sharing! So glad it helped
As a young person with BPPV 22y, the epley manouvre worked sometimes and I was looking for an alternative. This worked Great!
Glad to hear it worked, thanks for sharing!
Thank you!! Just came from ER with BPPV DIAGNOSIS and it worked!!
So glad it helped!
Thank you so much i had a creepy dream and literally shook my head so hard while laying down that i gave myself an onset of vertigo. I had this issue before and took 2 weeks to resolve. Thanks so much for this.
Thank you I just tried this with my son who has constant vertigo and he liked it.
Thanks for sharing the Foster method!
Best exercise i was facing this from 5-8 days due to studies bcauz i always use to bend my neck

Hi Doc Aj, I really can't thank you enough.❤

@@dariasdouble212 oh good, so glad it worked for you!
I hope this works next time if I ever have a vertigo fit again. Never really had one before this week... I was stuck in bed with the room spinning for two days. Thought I was dying. Never been so happy to be healthy as I am right now.
Definitely worth a try if you get BPPV vertigo attacks again, but I hope you never need it!
Thanks a million
Thank you
Thank u Dr, it works.. Also it is similar to our parying positions
Yes some people do pray to the pagan moon god of arabian desert. They kneel towards kaba to worship the pagan god of kureshi tribe. You are correct.
Just got diagnosed with bppv on Tuesday so I will have to try this if I get the spins again
Are you demonstrating the maneuver for one side vs another? Your testing video clearly showed mine is right side.
Yesterday morning as I rose out of bed .. wham!! It felt like the hand of God, threw me back … it was so frightening. Dizzy as all hell. I’m going to try these positions.. thank you.
It's not fun, hope you get relief!
Thanks dr.💕

I will try these today. I am so desperate. This problem is killing me. I wake up early, and am irritated more often because i didn’t get enough rest.
Hang in there, hope you get relief!
What do you suggest for vertigo due to neuritis?
this position looks funny and cute, I will try it for sure. :)
Definitely worth it if you have vertigo!
I suspect I may have bppv from a neck fracture, but I’m currently healing with a neck brace. I guess ima have to wait until my neck heals in order to perform this manuever 😢😢
Such a good technique, it has helped me many times.
It’s really pretty amazing. Glad it has worked for you!
Can this be used as a PREVENTATIVE measure rather than just when an attack occurs? In other words, would doing this without experiencing attach lessen the odds of getting one? Or would the method potentially cause one?
This was Shared by Sawant Yoga years back.
I felt worse when my head was on the floor
Should I continue it even I feel worse or stop
How does this differ from the Epley maneuver if at all?
I have treated patients with BPPV for almost 5 years. I've never done this maneuver and I suggest anyone who has symptoms seek a PT who specializes on BPPV, you could make this much worse
question (also thank you for taking time to possibly respond Doctor!) in your experiences does these excersizes (Epley as well) make someone experiencing BPPV feel nauseous to try them ?
Basically can it be rough going to some degree to follow these movements but the overall benefit is often worth the discomfort? (just experiencing what seems to be BPPV and it's hard to go through with Epley and other movements because it agitates the condition) Thank you again for any light you might shed here
From my experience when one of these stupid crystals first get out of position. Thats when i have nausea. I also end up freaking out about being dizzy. The nausea could be anxiety caused. I usually have to tell myself that its just the crystals in my ears. Ive actually gone to PT and they put goggles on my head covering my eyes and do these exercises. I usually have to do the exercises two or three times with them and then it seems to stop. I've also determined that for some reason seasonal allergies seems to trigger it every single year.
@@atheismisamentaldisorder1839of course allergies can become rinutis and connect to your inner ear. Don't loose the faith.
@@atheismisamentaldisorder1839maybe sneezing dislodges them?
How about bppv causes by looking up, instead of left or right
If I can't complete the series due to emesis, do I do it again immediately, or wait? Thank you for this technique. It has helped so much, and kept me out of PT.
It’s ok to give yourself some time in between, if you do end up vomiting. Have a trash can near by just in case. Most don’t throw up, but it does happen. So glad it’s been helpful!
I have BPPV and did the Epley maneuver yesterday morning. I violently threw up my coffee all over my bedspread and pajamas and was too miserable to work for another two hours and couldn't eat for the rest of the day.
How long have you had it for? I’ve been suffering for 3 weeks now and been trying these exercises but nothing works. Even meditation doesn’t work. I hardly even eat cause of the nausea. So miserable
hi are you okay now?@@siphokazipeli1968
Having BPPV, and this much speed 😮 i cant imagine😅
Knowing your vertigo will get triggered is intimidating but getting the relief is worth it. Hope it works out for you!
I learned it ain't a bad idea to pop a few Lexapro before you do this this because if you have anxiety you're going to have that flared up too and you're going to be Pat like a dog after the procedure hyperventilating
I feel worse when i do this..and at moments i have a feeling i will pass out..and when i lift my head fully up at the end..i feel just terrible.. pressure and vertigo...I'm afraid to do it...can i make it worse?
The same trouble I am going with is that cure now ??
Same here. Working with a physical therapist and I almost pass out and the worst nausea I have ever felt! The cure is worse than the problem. I'm getting gun shy with my pt.
I felt the same during this exercise
How is everyone
Same thing happens to me.
But after doing the exercises a couple of times a day it will get better and vertigo will leave faster.
How do these exercises shift the ear crystals into correct positions?
Good question! Each head position causes the inner ear crystals to move through the inner ear canals, eventually settling into a place where they don’t cause problems. The movement of the crystals is what causes the dizziness and that’s why people with BPPV feel the spinning when they do this maneuver.
Hi Doc, is this manouver for right ear or left ear? Are we supposed to do 2 sets, but opposite direction?
I’m demonstrating the maneuver for the right ear in this video. You would turn your head to the left for the left ear. If you know which side is affected you can just do that side, 3-5 times. If you don’t know which ear is affected you can do both.
@@StronglifePhysiotherapy Thank you so much for the reply!
What exactly does this manuever do? Relocating crystals back to where they belong like epley?
Yes, exactly. Many find it to be more effective than the Epley
When doing the somersault and it’s your left side do you turn your head to the right?
Hello doctor, I was wondering how many times a day should a person do this or how many rips let me know when you get a chance thank you
It often takes 3-5 times doing the maneuver to get the full benefit. Sometimes more. Hang in there!
I’m not sure of which one I have but I get so dizzy and I have bad episodes it’s been going on for two years I would really love some help
I hope you get relief!
I need to hear him say what to do. It’s hard to move to the next phase when you’re dizzy and can’t think
The full version has audio instructions, but might move a little fast if you’re doing it at the same time. Here’s the video: ua-cam.com/video/wv66YvIyDy0/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Can you make some video on Plantar fasciitis ..? It's bothering me a lot
Here's a video that summarizes my approach to plantar fasciitis: ua-cam.com/video/xum8oHcPrpQ/v-deo.html

How many time we should do it doctor?
Please seek a PT who specializes on BPPV, you could make this much worse
Does it matter which direction you turn your head when it is on the ground?
When I look down to say do show laces up or tie bin bags it spins this has been going on for about a year now , before this it used to spin if I looked up Iv had bppv for about 10 years but this new position is getting to me , would this manoeuvre work as scared to do it terrified actually 🙈
Ugh I feel ill just watching you (but I know I'm gonna have to do it. Sigh.).
Good luck, you got this!
I feel more dizzy when i do it what it means? Thx doc

How can we fix the vertigo issue for good? Is this something we have to live with forever?
I can’t tell what side make me dizzy I know when I stand in leaving towards my left and did this and no I’m leaning towards my right like I wanna fall How do I know what war to treat if I’m leaning towards the right
Can I do this separately along with the epley maneuver in a day?
You can, you don’t necessarily need to do both. I prefer this maneuver, it seems to work better for most but you could do both.
Omg I turned over in bed...from right to left last night and boom. Whole room spun. I'm afraid to sleep now flat again . I do feel my right ear inside and down a bit is sore too.
Try the half somersault maneuver, works like a charm! Vertigo Cure (BPPV) Self Treatment (2022)
ua-cam.com/video/wv66YvIyDy0/v-deo.html
You have a sinus or inner ear infection. Get to an Ear, Nose, Throat doc stat.
Think about it, you don’t want to get any scar tissue in there!
How many times a day do you guys do this and do switch sides
You have to know which ear is affected to perform the correct direction.
Hi Doc, i don’t know if this is BPPV, but while i’m laying down I feel like i’m “floating” around, sometimes it feels worse with my eyes closed, as if i’m doing back flips, being pulled to one side
should I do this once a day?
If your crystals are loose can the be put back into place again and the vertigo goes away?
Yes! The idea is to put them back into place. Sometimes they dissolve. Sometimes they reattach. But it’s possible for them to come back out and cause problems again in which case you repeat this maneuver.
how many times do you do this a day? i tried the first time seems its helping but afterwards it went back
It can take multiple times to get full relief, 5-7 in some cases
Doc i finish my eply manuever, i still feel wobly. No more heavy spinning but i still feel wobly is that normal? Its been like 2 weeks now
I'd suggest going to physical therapy they help with these exercises. I get them every single year after my seasonal allergies.
Works
💯
How many times a day do we need to do this?
hi
i dont know if is panic attacks or anxiety i get dizziness attacks it feels like i am about to pass out. i been in search fore acure for this dizziness. can you help me. i need help cause mylife change since thia stared to happen
Dr I tried the eply maneovre almost through up. How can I do your exercises without throwing up. My issues is vertigo while lying flat straight or lying almost flat on my left side.
Unfortunately many people do throw up when doing the exercise. Some take dramamine, which can be helpful. Some just prepare themselves and have a trash can ready just in case they do throw up. IMO throwing up during the exercise is worth it if you get rid of the vertigo. Most don't end up vomiting though, it just feels like you will. I wish you the best and hope you get relief!
How are you now
do you only use it as you get the vertigo or after you recovering from it?
The best I can understand is that you do it if you’re well or not. I haven’t seen a PT yet, so I’m not sure what ear, or what canal in my middle ears is affected. 🤷🏼♀️. (It feels like both to me, I’m so darn dizzy)
So I tried his exercise last night, used best form and careful timing best as I could.
Bad idea. 🤦🏻♀️. Made things much worse. Feel horrible for 20 hours straight. Can even feel the vertigo during sleep.
Sir my left ear affected...whice side i will do...left or r8 side
Left
Hi doctor when I did it on right side am feeling normal ,but when I did it on left side I am feeling dizzy
You’ll feel dizzy doing it on the side that needs it, that’s part of it. Hope you get relief!
Do you also turn your head to the left when you’re in the down position or always do it one way
You turn your head to the affected side, if you’re not sure you can do it to one side first and see if it helps, if not you can try the other side.
Hey doc, idk which side of my ear I have vertigo, so my question was, Is this exercise common for any side of the ears?...or do we have to do an exercise that is specifically done for left and right ?
It’s ok to do both sides but it helps to know which side it’s coming from. I made a video on it here: BPPV: How To Tell Which Ear Is Affected
ua-cam.com/users/shortsKeq3a1OKfS0?feature=share
@@StronglifePhysiotherapy sir.. I am from India... After doing this exercise I think my bppv symptoms is totally end.. But i am feeling fuzy-fuzy.. Little dizzy.. So for getting totally fine.. What should I do... It's already past 20 days... But still dizzy...
What canal are you suggesting this treats? Actually this is crazy to me having treated BPPV for years. How do you suggest a pt identify what side or canal is affected? I have had pt's with anterior canal who followed stuff like this and probably started off posterior but ended up unable to walk. This is a no go for me.
I appreciate your feedback. This treats posterior canal quite effectively with less risk of transitioning to other canals than the Epely maneuver. My experience is that it is a very effective maneuver with minimal risk designed by a neuro-otologist to help people who don't have great access to care. Are you aware of specific cases where this maneuver has caused someone to get worse?
Does this technique work for Horizontal BPPV ?
I have vertigo is this a permanent thing or is there a cure and will it go away?
If you have it in the right ear do you face and turn your head to look at your right elbow ?
Yes
At the moment am currently dealing with these symptoms. Every time I lay down or even if I slightly move my head up, down or sideways I get really dizzy. I had a head injury back in November and I started to feel these symptoms when I would lay down. the doctor gave me pills to take but never took them because my symptoms went away. On Thursday if when I started to feel them again and hopefully I can get over them.
Curious what pills did the doctor give you?
Your issue could be on the neck, stretch the fascia and vagus nerve
I too had a head and neck injury but my vertigo is not as bad as yours. I only get it when I bend forward to pick something up or when I slightly turn to side in my sleep.
Please seek a PT who specializes on BPPV, you could make this much worse
This technique really works ..Thanks a lot 👏
You're welcome, glad it helped!
Doc Aj, how many times do I need to do this exercise for me to get relieve? Once or twice a day? and for many weeks?
I'd suggest if you're actually having problems with this I've had it for many years The only time it seems to ever get serious relief is when I actually go to physical therapy and do the exercise with the physical therapist.
@@atheismisamentaldisorder1839 How are you now
How often can you do this maneuver?
there's no real limit, but some people need some time in between attempts because it will trigger the vertigo. Also, once symptoms clear up there's no need to keep doing it.
Hey doc . How can I know Wich side to go with my head ?
If your vertigo come on when you roll to your right side in bed it's probably your right ear and you would need do that side with the half somersault maneuver. Same thing if it's triggered by going to the left. If you can't tell it's ok to do it on both sides and see which one works. A sign that it's working is that it will trigger the vertigo while you are doing it. Hope that helps, with you the best in getting better!
Sir , can bvvp be treated by medicine .If yes name it..
Vertin 8/16 mg
hello i have otitis medea left ear and also bppv i sufferd bppv almost 5months i always off blnce
Is this better than the Epley Maneuver?
In my opinion, yes. I've seen it be more effective and consistent than the Epley and it's easier for a person to do on their own which means it saves time and money.
Does anyone have the link he mentions?
I did this and it helped but I did vomit. Is the vomiting helpful ?
It’s unfortunately part of the process sometimes. It’s not actually helpful but just a side effect of triggering the vertigo. Glad you got some relief!
