At 1:18 Before Mcgann transitions to Eccelston, there is a a couple frames of blurriness before it focuses on Chris's face.
Now, obviously this is a coincidence and they had no plans for the War Doctor back then. But what if the in-universe explanation for that half second of blurriness is where the information about the War Doctor was wiped out?
This is my head canon.
Yason You The War Doctor was only introduced because Eccleston wouldn’t star in the 50th special.
@@Hadarouken I am very well aware of that.
didn't the doctor say that it's the cybermen's database? the cybermen would have no reason to know who the war doctor is, and it's possible that neither would the daleks in the void, if they were imprisoned there before the war doctor entered the time war. also possible that the information about the war doctor was wiped out for some reason.
Yason You I see no blurriness!
First of all the war doctor is BEFORE the ninth doctor. and second the cybermans database of the doctor is stolen from the daleks
Clips used for each doctor are from:
1st - the time meddler
2nd - the ice warriors
3rd - terror of the autons
4th - city of death
5th - arc of infinity
6th - trial of a timelord
7th - time and the rani
8th - the movie
9th - the parting of the ways
10th - the family of blood
Well done sir, Jelly baby for you.

Life saver!!
After Jackson lake left the doctor, he became a tyrannical leader, took the name ‘The Governor’ and spearheaded Rick’s gang In the zombie apocalypse
I was wondering where I saw his face before!
Good One.
'ello governor!
I knew his face looked familiar
@@ReZGamehunter2853 - It's too bad AMC didn't go forward with his NTSB pilot called "Line of Sight" It sounded like ti would have been a good series. www.thewrap.com/walking-dead-star-david-morrissey-signs-amc-drama-pilot-line-sight-113751/
The only man to ever become both a doctor and a governor
Really hoping that David Morrissey becomes the Doctor someday. He would make for a fantastic Doctor. A man with a dark past that could be serious one moment, then laughing the next. We've seen how good he can be at switching emotions as an actor. I really hope they are considering him for the next regeneration.
'I’m the Doctor.' No. You’re the Governor.
....i see what you did there....
I can't stop seeing David Morrissey as The Governor lol.
The way Tennant and Smith as the Doctor both deliver..."I'm sorry"....taught me the importance of those two words.

* doesn't recognize him when he sees him *

10th: "Me, a woman?! Tell me, will I be ging-"
Jackson: "But before all that, there was also this old bearded guy wearing a bandolier..."
10th: "STOP! I, WE, don't *talk* about that one!"
Turns translucent and becomes Testimony. "Sorry Doctor, but you were the Doctor Offff Waaaarrrr!"

This was a great episode. The pacing, music, dialogues, acting... All of them were top notch!
This was an excellent episode. I loved every minute or it.
TARDIS: Tethered Aerial Release Developed In Style,
Honestly? Everyone was so charismatic
One of the best, dealing with emotions and events in a way unequalled by any other dw episode I can think of.
That scene where he remembers killing his wife must be one of the most powerful in DW history.
We got a glimpse of how great a dramatic actor Tennant is as well
Best doctor by a country mile. Had every characteristic a doctor needed
I like how in the previous episode "Journey's End", we only see flashbacks of people who've died in the Doctor's name during NuWho. And here, we see actual footage of past Doctors from Classic Who as well as 9th and 10th from NuWho.
Seriously, no one notices it?
"You wanted to become someone else because Jackson Lake had lost so much."
I think, This also refers to the Doctor himself. Given his history at Gallifrey, losing his Gallifreyan Family and everything else... Makes you wonder why he made the promise, why he became the Doctor.
Hiding his true name... since the beginning of time.
Yeah. People didn't notice vague speculation
@@diibadaa9502 It’s called critical thinking, you need a decently working brain for that… clearly you won’t know since it sounds like “vague speculation” to your two brain cells
@@alphamineron Waxing poetic about a TV show isn't an exercise in critical thinking. Your IQ isn't measured by your Tumblr posts. But I guess you need a decently working brain to know that.

@@alphamineron It was a figure of speech referring to the style of the original post. Nevermind, this isn't fun anymore.
Underrated episode for its time. It looks like a classic compared to what we have now
Agreed
Anyone of the previous episodes is a classic to the politically correct dross that's on now.
well, it is brilliant even without a comparison.
and yeah, it was before the writers run out of ideas for Christmas specials.
@@bohdan_lvov Seriously you are everywhere!
David Morrisey made this episode for me. An absolutely legendary actor in a legendary special
This is one of my favorite David Tennant Christmas special next to The Christmas Invasion!!! I like that they showed the original clips of the Original Doctors in this special!!
Series 1-4 of Doctor Who is amazing.
And also Series 5 and the first half of series 6, after that...doctor who was...good but not as good as it could if been.
However, they all dominate series 11 and 12 though! (Not having a dig at Jodie as I quite like her) I mean series 12 had some nice ideas...but it's still not one of the strongest.
I remember when I was trolled by this ep at age 7 and then the twist came. Clever and still chill inducing when he shows the montage of his past lives.
2:26 "Tell me what they took!"
Me: "Well, there was this other guy, a doctor of war...."
Well you see that was suppose to be the 9th doctor but he refused to go back to doctor who and he has been since banned from BBC hence why you don't see him a lot anymore
“Jackson Lake is dead” really miss the tenth doctor. This was when doctor who was good
The Good Cyberleader series 10 was pretty good but yeah series 11 is a bit of a mixed bag I enjoyed kerblam though
@@buldrickhood2007 Kerblam was nearly getting back to seasons past. We need better written scripts. Chinbal is not the right person.
Oh bugger off, the Moffat era was brilliant or great.

Incredible actor, incredible premise, incredible character. Overall just an amazing episode
I'd like to see/hear Jackson team up with a Big Finish hero in The New Adventures of Jago & Lake! Get this man a booth
miss u david. soooo much.
This was Actually A Great Episode.
The Fake one who think that He was Godlike Hero

1:05 every Doctor Who fan is filled with nostalgia when we all see the Doctor's previous faces. Lets hope that in Series 13, BBC retcons the Timeless Child plot hole

@@GabeOli1231 bcc, it's supposed to be bbc
@@the-quiver no, you're right, I forgot how to spell; sorry
I love this sequence! The music, the nod to the classic series and the movies. Just 👌
David Morrissey would actually make a fantastic Doctor! I remember when I was super nervous about the 10th Doctor’s impending regeneration, and when Morrissey appeared, he immediately won me over! I would’ve been thrilled if he was the next Doctor, but Matt Smith was still a great choice!
Brilliant episode! 🙂
I always wanted John Simm. Although I know that would be impossible considering he's the master.
Jackson lake should've become the next doctor as well
Might be my favourite Christmas episode find it so underrated.
What a fantastic performance by David. He was if not the best truly one of the best.
My favourite episode of New Who. Great story premise and great performance from Dave Morrissey.
i didn't think the episode in full was spectacular, but i always loved this scene
I'm sorry but nothing will ever top, ten and jackson lake stood next to each other with their sonics shouting ALLONS-Y! And looking at eachother for a second. That was so amazing XD
Favourite Tennant Christmas Special!
This was a great twist and a great episode with the Cybermen.
3:33 Just realized the clock stops at 10 but starts back up after the flash back
I like to think that, after the info stamp shows the tenth doctor, the doctor looks away to avoid seeing his future selves
David Tenant is so cooolllll!!
So many clever parallels with Jackson and the doctor (excluding obviously the copied information) they both suffered great trauma and lost family and both chose to run away and not look back. Jackson lost his mind trying to forget his tragedy and became an entirely different man and so did the doctor, the doctor regenerated a few times and found anything he could to distract himself just to have to not look back on what he lost
David would have made a terrific Doctor. In another life...
We need more of this back in the show
I always enjoyed him as the doctor
Huge laurie could be the next doctor
There's a possibility they're doing this plot again now. Might want to rewatch this whole episode...
The plot was decent. But Morrissey was a remarkable Doctor, really elevated the whole thing.
thanks for highlighting my comment and like both comments!
Brilliant acting from The guy who played Jackson Lake in this scene, and this was one of my favourite scenes from the 10th Doctor, but sadly devastating for J.L! 😔
I see the Governor's doing well.
David Tennant 🖤🖤
If Jackson lake ever returned they have to have someone say “ello governor”
3 actors who I'd love to succeed Jodie as the Doctor:

Didn't realise David Morrisey played Billy in One Summer till recently
One of my favorites.
David Morrisey is THE DOCTOR !!!
An underrated episode.
Awesome episode
i absolutly love this episode
Nobody realises this, but this is the first time where we actually SEE clips of the first 8 Doctors in new who. Sure we saw drawings in the Journal of Impossible Things, and we met Sarah Jane of course, but this episode is the final cementing of the establishment of classic series being canon to New Who.
All the Doctors💛 have great personalities👍
David Morrissey should be the next Doctor!
Ahhh... Doctor Who
There was more drama in this clip than nearly all of Series 11 so far
10 will always be my doctor.
Epic scene
Great clip! back when Doctor Who was good
ok i would love to see David Morrissey as an iteration of the doctor
The Governor is The Doctor
Jackson Lake, the Steampunk Doctor!
The description is wrong. It says this clip is from The Christmas Invasion when it is from The Next Doctor
Why did the Dalek’s databanks lack any reference to the war doctor?
Time-wimey uncertainty, given enough time, an incarnation Doctor should be at every time and location, or at least ones where the Daleks are.
Probably because it was stolen from Daleks inside the void, who were in turn all imprisoned in the Genesis Ark at some point during the Time War. Considering that the Time War went on for god knows how long and the 8th Doctor was around for a fair bit of this time, it makes sense to assume that those Daleks were imprisoned before the 8th Doctor regenerated into the War Doctor, hence why none of them seemingly recognise the War Doctor as existing. Then again, they recognise the 9th Doctor which makes 0 sense, so I guess there's no point really thinking about this too deeply.
To be fair he somehow built a tardis
The worst thing is that David Morrissey would actually have made a great Doctor.
That's the Governor!
Damnit doctor you could have stopped the governor!
10th doctor is the best 😀
Luke Cross yes yes and more yes
Luke Cross no my favourite is nine
Agreed, I remember how sad it was at the end
Of current generation, yes he is. But overall, 4th Doctor was the best.
Tom Baker will always be the standard against which all other Doctors are measured.
I miss david tennat
This actor would have made a great, believeable Doctor Who!
One thing I just realised doesn't make sense about this whose mind would take on the identity of the doctor if you're trying to avoid the pain of loss.
He didn't get all the information of the Doctor, just the little that those Cybermen knew.
@@9nikolai He knew about all his companions and how they're no longer there.
I want that coat.
This episode used to look bad, now it looks top notch.
When did it look bad. As far as I can recall this was a really well received episode when it came out.

This scene right here is probably the cruelest thing the doctor ever done.
It's the Governor!
but this is a cool video!
the one but not the only ^^
well what do you know
First and last time where Russell T. Davies didn’t pretend that the Classic Era never existed
He never pretended it didn't exist. He made references to it quite a bit they just weren't overly Fan wanky.
There were a few more references such as the series 3 finale where the master talks to the doctor and says “Axons” and “Sea Devils” which were both 3rd Doctor Villains. And in Utopia where the Derek Jacobi master opens the watch you can hear Anthony Ainleys Laugh and A line from Roger Delgado.
No Doctor I'm The Doctor!
Love ten
No, Doctor, I'm the doctor and I say that you're not fit.
Is this one of the governor's ancestors?
Technically, he's the only possible Human Time Lord
Donna was a Human Time Lord as she had the Doctor's thought process
Jackson had his memories and rationalization
At least that's what I'm thinking
I know he didn't exist at the time but if they stole this data from the Daleks then why isn't the War Doctor there. There's no way the Daleks would have no record of the version of the Doctor that fought them in the largest war they've ever had to fight.
this was one of the good christmas episodes, the later ones went down hill a little in the writing department
