  • In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

The room was not mic'd well for video, so the laughs didn't get picked up well for audio.

There was no sound on the audience which really made them sound like a bad audience. They weren't that bad.

Veronika Rajzo the song that lea performs is "I enjoy being a girl" from the flower drum song, the song at the very start and end of the video is "the goodbye song" from smash (which is one of my favourite musicals and I would highly recommend listening to it!)

The funniest bit was the song so ironic lol. But I wasn't too sure about the German tattoo bit. Still she says what she thinks and as long as it's known that not all Germans were Nazis fine by me.

I was gonna show this to my German friend because I thought she would find it funny that a German woman said those things... but after the tattoo joke... nah. I mean... I really like Lea, but that's not funny. :(

stiras1you're right it's not funny. we use tattoo identification for animals in factory farms. that's not funny either.

***** Yeah, I hate people who say stuff like that. It's so awful.
My friend, even if it's hurtful, she doesn't even fight back... she's like "oh well... I understand their hate". Like WTF. Is this the way it's going to be always? Are little German babies born today going to be labelled as nazis when they grow up?
People need to pull themselves together and stop being so fucking mean.
If you call someone a "jew killer" simply for being German, then you're the bad guy not them.

    • @stiras1
      @stiras1 9 років тому +1

***** Look... I watch a lot of comedians, I have many favourites. Their jokes are not always funny, sometimes I think they take things too far, but I can overlook that and enjoy the rest of their show.
I'm not saying that I will never watch her preform again, I probably will, because I think that besides her little nazi joke, she is a funny woman. But that does not mean that I have to think it's okay to joke about that.
You don't understand because you're not close to anyone who's German. They get stuff like this thrown in their face all the time, and it doesn't matter if they are young and their grandparents fought the Nazis (like many German's did), people will always try to insult them.
My friend was seeing a Jewish man for 7 years! and she never got his mother's approval because of her nationality. She doesn't hate her, she understands, but it doesn't mean it doesn't HURT.
So don't tell me that I can't appreciate a joke, because I can, but you know what... not everything a comedian says is funny. They can cross the line and say extremely hurtful things, and this was one of those times.
Are you going to tell me to laugh at rape jokes next? What about child abuse? Is that funny to joke about?

As a German female let me tell you: We grow up with Holocaust and Hitler jokes. 60% of the jokes we hear in school (no matter how expensive the school and how uptight the teachers) are Hitler jokes. And I don't think that's really bad. Even if our generation has nothing to do with this horrible incident, we constantly are bashed for it. So humor lightens the mood a little and takes some of the fear away from that. It helps to put it behind us.
To that comes that humor is not exactly light and nice. We laugh about the most horrible things (war, death, Justin Bieber), even though they should not be considered funny.
Show your friend, have a laugh. She will have heard WAY worse.

How is someone to know she’s not a man? Should we go up to everyone who presents as a man and say excuse me, are you male or female?
