Ice Nine Kills' Spencer Charnas loves the horror movies he doesn't even like
The frontman for Ice Nine Kills drops some of his personal “horror history” about the scary films that shaped him.
Ice Nine Kills awesome new live album 'I Heard They KILL Live!!' Is out now via Fearless Records. Indeed, the Ice Nine Kills singer is a die-hard enthusiast of scary movies of all kinds. Horror films, splatter reels, you name it. If it bleeds, it feeds Charnas’ imagination to run wild in his chosen musical genre. Forget Christmas: In his world, Halloween is the most wonderful time of the fear.

Sinister is the only horror movie that I've actually struggled to watch and to be honest I think the ending of the movie just makes it all hit much harder
Really? I watched it in theatres when I was 13 and thought the ending was fantastic and so unexpected
Everything he said about his horror experience of life is exactly what I lived. It's like me talking to myself. Always loved horror. I'd walk myself at 7 years old to the video store and they let me rent these horror films. I was obsessed with scream. Convinced my mom at 10 years old to take me to the movies to see it when it premiered. She didn't know what she was in for hahaha
I honestly love every trick in the book and the silver scream equally. I can listen to the both of them from beginning to end without skipping anything. Thank you Mr. Charnas and the rest of INK for what you've done. And also thank you for that song you did called "Jonathan" which happens to be my first name spelled correctly lol.
For the longest time, my favorite was Return of the Living Dead which of course stemmed from watching all the Romero films. It’s cool hearing Spencer talk about some people loving horror at the “cellular level” - I don’t feel so out of place!
The Shining freaked me out more than a lot of "Thrasher Films" as a child, that could be a fun song

Scream has to got to be number 1 for me. Halloween is a must. And another great niche horror movie I love is "It Follows" but I just love horror. Also I'm totally obsessed with Ice Nine Kills.
