Unlike the theatrical polished content of our main channel, this channel will more livestreams, free talking, diary vlogs, adult themes, discussions on current affairs and topics of interest. It is a place to share, have a dialogue with subscribers and bring others into the mix, which enhances my quality of life as a rural hermit in Thailand!
'The Naked Guru" Is just a fun metaphor for being open and honest.
Thanks for joining!
I vlog our life, the good things that happen and the bad. There are no fake events or parts omitted. Otis and I have now made a full recovery. I hope he is able to watch these videos when he is older to remember his childhood. Thanks for watching everyone 🙏

My child is 33...I miss her being small again. Your son is adorable. God bless you and your family.❤
Poor Otis so sorry he was sick and spoiled the holiday for you both , glad to hear you are getting better .
Thanks Michael!
Get well soon Tis (probably has). Cheers
Wow absolutely beautiful beach and scenery
It really is!
Glad you guys are back and healthy!! Love your channels!!
Thank you so much 🙏
Thanks for sharing… glad y’all are feeling better… Phi Phi is awesome
Thanks Don 🙏🙏
His little face at 12:24 broke my heart.
😍Looks beautiful there. ❤the sculptures. So sad to hear you haven’t been well, but at least it was an adventure for him anyway. 💞💞💞💞Flowers growing over kitchen so beautiful!
Glad you're both ok mate. Give Tis a cuddle for me and let him know we're all happy he's recovered. In 2006, we took our kids to Phuket on a family vacation celebrating my Dad's 60th birthday, and my wife ended up in hospital for 3 days with food poisoning from the hotel (undercooked hamburger). At that time our kids were 3 and 4 months old. Yes I know, why would you take a 4 month old on an international holiday, right? We really didn't have a choice, as the entire family went (18 of us in total). The total bill for the 3 days, drips, medication etc was around AUD$200, covered by travel insurance. What an experience. I must say that the medical staff were absolutely exemplary and so professional, empathetic and caring. Wife recovered and we all came home no worse for wear.
Good to see your both better phi phi is on my bucket list
Cheers Peter!
Thanks for the update, everything is an experience.. all experiences are good for learning
Glad your both recovering ❤
Thank you!
@@thenakedguru I love ❤ organic 🚜 🐖 farmers house 🏠 😋 hi from Florida state USA America 🇺🇲 wondering 🤔 💭 if any of tropical fruits from Thailand 🇹🇭 can grow here like durain rambutan milk fruits eggs fruits etc
Hiya Ryan. It has been a while since you uploaded on this channel.
Gorgeous beach. Great to watch the fishermen. Nice catch. Lol.
So great you had the beach to keep your mind off things. That is not nice you both got unwell. Otis is beautiful. So cute.
Great sand animal.
The views are beautiful.
I think some people just like to have a moan.
Glad you both recovered.
Lovely new toy.
Have a great day
first time watching , Very interesting, Love the laid back life style its what i am looking for.
Koh Tao hospital also great view👍
So happy that both of you recovered
Poor Wee Otis hope he feeling better 😔💜
Glad to see Otis is well again, but sorry to see he and yourself got sick. Hope you have a great adventure in the future. I'll be visiting soon and going to see the bats at Phu Pha Man near Chum Phae.
So glad you are both well and good to see you did get to enjoy some family time together regardless. Take it easy for a while mate. Yes we missed you lol ❤
Thank you Helen, hope you are well!
How strange, I visited Phi Phi with family in April and within a couple of days my wife and I were suffering from similar symptoms. My wife ended up in hospital as well. It was about the worst I've felt from food poisoning and the heat really doesn't help. Like yourself we weren't certain of the exact cause as we'd ate in numerous places. Thankfully we were still able to make some fantastic memories that overshadow the bad ones.
PARASITES STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING RAW OR RARE ....what are the sewage protocols for Thailand and sanitization of food handling >>/????
Best wishes to you both, hope you recover fully.
Hi from Canada! So very happy to see that Otis recovered well! He’s a beautiful lil’ boy ! I’m a Retired Pediatric Nurse and feel so much when I see precious little darlings getting sick! You’re a great daddy and happy to see you both recovered and back home now! Otis will have those special memories to cherish with you even though he became sick! Children are amazing little warriors even when sick!
Love Phi Phi by the way! We have special memories from vacation visits there as well! My husband and I so enjoy all your videos ,as we watch your beautiful children thriving in such a loving and peaceful environment ! .. Fo us ,Thailand too has a very special place in our hearts! ❤We look forward to seeing future your adventures !
Oh no...camera too! Looks lovely there
Glad both of you feel better. Home feels best for recovery.
Really nice song at minute 6..sorry to hear about the whole food poisoning
Been to Phi Phi a couple times and though I live in Thailand but do not think I will go again. My Thai wife thinks you guys are rich such a nice little house, but I tell her we are just not as creative she grew up as a farmer every spot must be for fruit trees, though we have been building a little she knocks my creative ideas but ends up doing a few and I let her have all the credit. Now is hard times for us as mother-in-law had a stroke, we keep going and trying.
Oh that was my second job on my farm, feed pigs and clean up their pen. First job was picking eggs in the yard! Just beautiful!
Perfect pig pen!
Sorry to hear little Otis wasn't well. That's a shame. Oh well, these things happen. Just not very nice away from home
Cheers Matt
Sorry to hear about Otis, but glad you are both recovering. If there is a positive to come out from it, at least your immune system is likely stronger!
Cheers James!
Poor Otis,
He was really looking forward to Phi Phi,
Glad your feeling better, and still had fun until you got sick.
so glad you kids are ok.. you're right, 10 days is a long time vacation/adventure. he'll remember more the older he gets too. stay safe x o grammy
So glad Otis is ok food poisoning is treacherous thank you Ryan for your update
Glad you took Otis to the hospital. With viruses and food poisoning it can be dangerous. You are a good Dad. Glad he is doing well !!!!
Certainly was an adventure but not the one you were hoping for😊
Thank you Peggy
Great father/son trip; the good and the bad included. In the end they will all be good memories ! What a sweet kid he is ! Blessings 🙏💕🌷
Free range pigs = 🍗
Loved the vlog ❤
Poor guys! And, little ones don’t know how to say they are nauseous. Still, beautiful beach! Reminds me of some Caribbean coves. Just beautiful
Thank you!
I'm so glad it was fairly minor! still no fun being sick especially on a fun trip. You both are raising an amazing kid.
Cool vid. Why don't you touch the fish? Fukushima? Microplastics? ...?
Ryan we all go through this on vacation with our family someone always gets sick with one thing or another obviously something you ate got you both sick. We’re very careful what we eat when we’re on vacation. Poor Otis 😢Lucky kids are very resilient and he will only remember the good things that he experienced with his wonderful father and son vacation, I bet mommy is happy to have you back home ❤
Lovely! prime time with your boy, cant beat it..
I wish you and the family a speedy recovery. ❤
Is food poisoning common there?
Tropics and their humidity is lethal for many electronic devices. I read of sooo many troubles in places like South America.
That happened to me in Mexico one time. It is the worst feeling. Glad you both are better. 😊
That beach is beautiful, a little off the beaten track. I found a lovely little cafe there back in May, which sold lovely home cooked chips. I know with all that nice Thai food... but it was a pleasure not to have to eat cardboard chips😊
All's well that ends well.
Quite right Jimmy
hello Bryan hope oti is ok..
Poor wee fella 😢 hope he's feeling better
Glad you guys are recovered. Why do you avoid seafood?
What a lovely thing to do for your son. So sorry it didn't work out as planned.
Tis looks so tiny in that big hospital bed.
Yeah, I remember when my kids were sick and they were little and it was all just so scary for us as parents. The kids don't usually remember much of it, but WE sure did! In the end, you had a holiday together and that's what matters....
I'm glad the little fella is ok.
Poor Tis,what an adventure guys!I've been food poisoned in Thailand,I know how terrible could be,expecially for a kid.Happy to know he's doing well now, hugs to you and fam ❤🌺
Pizza got me 4 months ago on Koh Lanta. Ironic thing is that is was the farang pizza and not all the Thai food bought right off the street and small restaurants. My wife picked up some Norflocin OTC along with some glucose stuff that had me recovered in about 5-6 days.
Me too! I had Pizza Hut pizza in BKK. 6 hours later, almost all life left me.
I'm glad that Otis feels better enough to go back to school.
Be sure that no matter him being sick there, you gave him great memories for the next years to come.
You finished this vlog using the Pocket 2: did you change it or did you make it be repaired? I've been using it for 3 years, and I had issues twice, and each time DJI changed it for free...
So sorry that you had those problems on Koh Phi Phi, Ryan. Food poisoning is so unpleasant especially for Otis, and I know how much you must have worried about him. However, you both seemed to make the most of it and the time spent together on the beach looked lovely. I can't believe how empty that beach was! So idyllic. I wonder what goes through the mind of a child when they see the fire show. Such a contrast from his normal day on the farm. I'm gald that you both survived and hope that you are feeling fully recovered soon. Yes being grateful, every day for what you have, is an excellent philosphy and one which I hold dear. I thank God every day for my life and all that I have in it, my wife, my family food on the table and a roof over my head. Plus living in Thailand is a bonus. I don't have much financially but what more do I need when I am surrounded by love andhappiness in a beautiful environment. God bless you, Damo, Otis and Hugo always. 😀❤🙏
Food poisoning is my biggest concern when I visit in November. No time to be sick
I’m so glad Otis is ok. Kids are ALWAYS sick🤪. My kids and grandkids have barfed their way thru holidays and vacations🤣. We just keep going. You were probably smart to call it.😉
Happy you are both feeling OK again.
First time I ever heard about a viral food poisoning.
I'm sure they know what they are talking about, and good they didn't pump Otis full of antibiotics when it wasn't necessary!!!
Happy to see your flogs :-)
I went to that hospital with Dengue Fever. It was so bad. There were cats everywhere and mold on the ceiling. They were doing surgery on a man in the bed next to me while he was awake and screaming. I told my husband I would rather take my chances in the hotel bed then stay another minute there.
I was so happy to see that you were taking Otis on a little trip- sorry that this adventure didn’t turn out to be the best 😢glad to see that both of you are well now and recovering 🙏🏼❤it was sad to see poor Otis suffering tbh 😢
❤🙏
🙏🙏❤❤
Ha Ha , Love that little boy.
Hi ryan im sorry about the trip but otis is grand but people saying about the pigs is people that mustn't watch your channel that much hope your feeling better aswell pal I noticed at the end he has his birthday hat on your doing a great job u and damo with both languages
Cheers SteRay, stay well brother!
@@thenakedguru sound pal always look forward to your videos even if I'm a bit late the pai one was class

Really sorry that you were sick on your holiday. Been there!!! Sounds like someone brought Norovirus with them which hits fast,,,, we got if from two children in New Orleans at our air BNB,….. fast and furious!!!
I got violently I’ll in a Thai resort with food poisoning a chicken ceaser & more in Bumingrad hospital food I got salmonella ! Never in a local area !
Children beware "Fever" from rain and sun.
My mother always told me..!!
I am Thai.
Is there a doctor available 24/7 at this hospital?
👍👍👍🙏
🙏😊🇹🇭
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Poor kid, glad he’s ok. It’s only when you become a parent you realise how much your own parents love you.
which health insurance are you with does it cover in-patient and out-patient thanks
We have in-patient only because usual out patient so cheap - it’s with a company called WR life 👍
wow thats same as myself but thinking of getting out-patient also because of my age really never know god forbid i fall over and break something thanks hope you both recovered......if you get another bug just drink plenty of hot water and electrolite powders @@thenakedguru
In my 76 years I have had food poisoning 3 times. Once in New Mexico and once in orange and once in California. I eat at noodle shops and food stalls all the time and never have I ever had a problem. Once I move from Bangkok and up north I will even be eating healthier foods. Most people don’t use chemicals and you get a truck that comes around twice a day with all kinds of vegetables. The prices are so low it makes you wonder how they make any money. We plan to have 1/4 acre for food growing.
Sounded like Tyson fury at the beginning
I also get sick of food, i think in many asian countries is not fresh or have bacterias..in bali in particular i always get the bali belly, even 2 weeks to recover. No more
The Thai’s that sell food have to be so careful else they won’t get repeat custom.. the most common problem is salad that is washed in tape water.. avoid that when you are new or just returned.. over time you will overcome
Im glad otis is better ryan
Thanks Michael 🙏
Otis will remember that trip for good, or for bad. Sure he’ll remember having that stunning beach to himself. Downer you both got ill.
The Thai’s don’t mess about, get you on a drip and get your fluids sorted.
Had a similar issue on Ko Samed last year, clinic in the town were 1st class. Got my boy sorted in 2 days with antibiotic and steroid injections.
Hope Otis is back to himself.
the expenses here will never be "unforeseen" ,they will be inevitable
I got sick from chicken 35 years ago and never ate chicken again!
🙏😊👍
I bet you are glad that's over!@@thenakedguru
charcoal tablets
When the pigs are free, they kill T-Rex
Trials and tribulations! Food can really mess you up as many of us expats know. Hotel food in low season! Sounds like best to stay away! Not their main business.. Same thing happened to my son in a Thai village back when he was around 5 or 6 ....hospital for 2 nights with an IV drip. It happens. Yes, shorter vacations and closer by! Boomer rant: My parents would never take me out of school ....but I went to grade school in the 60's and we only took road trips...Peace, Love, and happier trails next time guys.
A bit of a pigsty. No pun intended ha ha . Glad to hear you and the young man are on the mend. Nice one Ryan.
18:27 meanwhile those same people will order a BLT sandwich anytime…lol
Poor little guy as he dehydrated ?
No it was viral 👍
I remember Phi Phi when no one was allowed to stay overnight. This is what happens to a Thai national park when the big bucks are there for the taking.
gmo food - usually meat
Ryan you don’t need to explain yourself to these woke fairies 🧚♂️
Keep up the good work and glad your all OK 👍🏻
You should wash down the pens every day
Babies should stay very dry, outside dirty and flooding due to rainy season 👍
@@thenakedguru we are having non stop rain as well.
We raise pigs commercially up North. We average 350-400 pigs. We artificially inseminate. Lots of work for sure.
As I said in my other response, good to see you in the comments again Douglas, that is a hell of a work load you have going on, we have 3 pot bellies and only 2 litters a year which we usually sell immediately. Price of pork here is all time low, Damos mothers not doing so well with her more commercial production 👍
Nightmare, poor kid! You sure it wasn't from swimming amongst turds? It all goes in the sea on islands.
I hope you've never given him any injectables from the day he was born.
No
I have to say that I agree with others about the animals. It's just not on your farm but it's everywhere that you show animals. All of them seem to be housed in small pens without any movement available to them . The Conditions are dirty And they may have food and water but look at that pool in your play area For the pigs. I don't think it's just in Thailand. I've traveled extensively in Mexico and it was the same. It makes me very sad for them and concerned.
I think if you compare our pig sty to 95% of those in Thailand we are in the top 10 for comfort for the animals. Not only do they have an outdoor place to bath, but they have heat lamps and non slip concrete floors with sand beds and mosquito nets. Very few other farms would have this. The rainy season washes mud into their pool it cannot be helped. I am always blown away with these sorts of comments when I look at how others house their pigs with no room to move at all. And they are slaughtered which ours are not.
@@thenakedguru I agree with you because of what I've seen on your's and other's vlogs and as I pointed out, from my travels throughout Mexico. I suppose there's nothing one can do for caged animals, more than what you have done to keep them from predators and/or from becoming the predators. I didn't mean to offend or blame. I've been watching you since your earliest vlogs and see all that you do to create a gentle, kind and peaceful existence ans sharing that with us. That is not lost on me. BTW, I'm not a vegan/ vegetarian, just a bleeding heart. I felt so bad for you and Otis fighting the travelers curse. What a way to end your trip. Looking forward to seeing more of your journey. ❤
Thanks for your response and for coming along for the journey 🙏😊
I'm going to quit watching because what you're doing is rambling on about random ideas and thoughts that aren't associated with the title of the video.
If you think that’s what’s happening then it’s a good idea to stop watching 👍🙏
@@thenakedguru Just trying to provide constructive feedback.
your sprog could do with a haircut ,bet he has it before school
You will love fridays vlog on my main channel
The boy is really too young for a long father-son trip.
Had he not been sick he could have probably done double the time and distance, but sickness is always a risk
Every time I come back from the USA to Thailand I ask my doctor for LEVOFLOXACIN 750 mg … to have in my travel kit just in case of food poisoning (which I have experienced a few times). Total life saver. Love your channel… so happy you have a slice of paradise in Thailand. 🇹🇭🙏🏻👏🏻👍🏻😊
Pls do not trust any walking food sellers on the beach in the hot countries anymore,it’s not fresh/hygiene at all. It made me nearly die from the bbq food seller there. That was my disaster on that day too 🤒
