Awesome! I can see Ysera be viable against Baron, Golemagg, or Rag, all for different reasons! Baron: Extra fliers, poison and a bit of gold ramp are all excellent. Golemagg: Extra poison helps a lot here. Rag: Map wide hibernate could be FANTASTIC on defense, especially to slow down those guys coming from the left when we're pushing right or dropping unbounds.
I can see strong potential for the map wide sleep for pvp. Similar to The Cenarius map wide root. It interrupts the expected cadence/progress of the opponents minis. This works especially well against fast minis. When someone drops a fast mini they are timing it with an expectation of it getting to x point on the map to intercept something. If you simply throw that timing off it can be very impactful.
I picked Recurring Dream becuase it felt the best way to get to Innervate five times in a match, but then I realized it cycled in reverse, and thought it had to be the better talent.
I don't know if it's related to the talent that gives you Ysera's minis twice as often, but I regularly get 2 Innervates and 2 Hibernates directly back-to-back (which made the 5 Innervates in a single match quest rather easy).
@@OldGuardian Thanks for the quick answer, I wrote my question before I watched your video, which already answered it. ^^ Great content, by the way! Extremely helpful guides with some very specific information for all those events etc.! :)
I think I'll add it to the talent guide eventually. I could not test all the talents fast enough when it was released. Anyway, Radiant Flames is the best one because it always does something whether you play Ragnaros or not. Good against Chickens too! Sons of Flame are thoroughly mediocre and Concussive Blast is just bad.
I have to disagree with the minis being powerful. Innervate is good but thats it. The others in terms of pvp are - drake with a bad talent for 3 gold, whelps with a sidegrade talent but no unbound so just die to WD for 2 and sleep which is often dead. In terms of pve - yes you can stack a bunch of poison but you could also do that with a chimaera and harpies in your deck + a good leader. The only saving grace is if innervate applies to both players in coop which would be busted. Overall best potential in general is coop
Innervate is mostly a trap. In most pvp games stuff now is better then stuff later. Unless there's methods to hide what you have and stall like SC2. But in this game you're sinking 3g now to have an extra 1g 10 seconds later. It's very meh.
I’m surprised by your synopsis here. Thought you’d go for the double poison for sure - I’ve seen you get so excited by poison stacks. Main reason why I took that talent whenever it popped up. Imagine an all-poison team: Chimera with double poison, harpies with poison, farmer, abomination with poison, dryad, troll with poison… (other options are quil with poison and spiderlings with double poison in edge cases) Try it - it’s fun!
Are you supposed to use innervate over one of your characters? It behaves like an inbound. But does that actually do anything different? I can’t tell when I play it.
@@OldGuardianhow about the new Drake? When you are ready to deploy it, it presents differently, almost like there is an effect upon deploy. Again, can’t actually tell when deploying it and there is no info in-game.
Hey there OG, I have a question if you know the answer to it :) I've unlocked Deep Breath, but in the minis list, it says 62/70. I know there are like 2 or 3 new minis announced-ish, but where's the rest of the difference? I mention that I have all minis unlocked, at least those that I know of, so far, been playing since Day 1 :)
@OldGuardian soo, up till now, Oct 3, there are in total only 62 minis that can be collected, no? The other 8 we need to wait for announcements first? :) thanks for your time and answers, the video is also
Just on how the cards get added to the deck, if I understood you properly, you need to play a card for the next card to get added? But then you wouldn't be able to hold two of the cards at the same time right? I often have that, so I feel like I missed something. Thanks for the vid, as always, super valuable. Edit: It's cause I have the recurring dream talent isn't it?
Ysera brings 2 flying minis therefore it’s good to focus on wiping out their aa units so the air can take charge. Safe pilot and other unbound work well.
Sure. Each poison stack deals 40 damage over 5 seconds (at level 1, scaling as everything in the game) and each new application refreshes all existing stacks on the target. There is no cap on the number of stacks on a single target.
I believe it's based on your avg army rounded up. So 26.0 avg means your Core is 26. If you were to swap things out to get it to 26.1 even, the Core becomes 27. That's my understanding.
Is there any significance to the, I guess placement icons, when you go to place Ysera's emerald minis? I've noticed the whelps have a lil targeting type icon when being placed, and the drake has a "mystical purple circle," was just curious if there was anything to that.
I noticed this too. The placement icon/circle for the whelps is the unbound-type isn't it? I assume they used the same code as for the normal whelps, even though they are not unbound.
@@OldGuardian the graphic the whelps use is supposed to be specific to unbound mobs though isn't it? I don't think any other non-unbound units use it, or do they?

They represent the different Ysera talents. The only one that matters is A because it also distinguishes between the two Ysera minis you have in the deck that cycle in opposite directions.
Very much possible since you usually don't use you Leader for that boss anyway. Though being able to place around 15g in quickly after using some cycles units with Charlga does have its perks.

Wow I'm surprised the poison king has poison talent last 😂 thanks for the info!!
Truly a shocking twist.
Thanks for the guide ! Ysera is quite fun indeed, but I feel like she really needs the recurring dream talent to be strong.
I picked Recurring Dream becuase it felt the best way to get to Innervate five times in a match, but then I realized it cycled in reverse, and thought it had to be the better talent.
An incredible guide, thanks for your help!👌🏼
Thank you Grognard! This really helped me!
Love ysera my new main switching from sylvanaas. Love recurring dream
Great breakdown!

Great guide 👍the best talent is the one u don't have when u need it 😝
Shared Dreams issue is it affects 1 mini in 28. At least Corrupted Dreams hits 2 in 28.
Thank you OG. Great analytics as always. Ysera seems to be fun to play in PvP. The question is: will she do the job beyond Platinum Prodigy?
I hope they buff corrupted dream to be team wide. Harpies & chimera would go buckwild

Now that the Cenarion dungeon is up, what do you recommend for minis to use with Ysera?

There are more minis on the counter than have been announced.
Hallow's End is coming. I would expect the Headless Horseman is going to bring his own new minis to the game. ;)

Yes, that's how it works. Recurring Dream means that there are two Ysera cards in your deck. Without that talent, there would be only one.
I’ve noticed hibernate isn’t working in PvP? It might sleep one out of a few minis and only for a couple seconds. Not anywhere near 8 seconds.
Anyone got a good deck comp for Ysera... ? I am struggling to find a good balance to support the minis she gives.
Ysera brings 2 flying minis therefore it’s good to focus on wiping out their aa units so the air can take charge. Safe pilot and other unbound work well.
Anyone knows how the poison work in general? How many stack is the maximum?
Sure. Each poison stack deals 40 damage over 5 seconds (at level 1, scaling as everything in the game) and each new application refreshes all existing stacks on the target. There is no cap on the number of stacks on a single target.

How does base level work?
I believe it's based on your avg army rounded up. So 26.0 avg means your Core is 26. If you were to swap things out to get it to 26.1 even, the Core becomes 27. That's my understanding.

It is just the way they implemented them in the game. No deeper meaning.

Ysera mechanics were very confusing. Nothing in game to show how it works.
I didn’t even know the one thing was innervate till the reward tree told me. What is the helmet? Lol
The website has her info. Helmet is sleep. Notice the night cap and Z's
Nothing in game. Have to go to website.

Fyi; poison dmg does not break the sleep

What does having "levels" on innervate even do? It alwais gives 4 mana no?
I don't think levels do anything on Innervate, seems to always be the same gold gain.
Please do an onxyia video
Ysera for Golemagg?

It could work. Also possible for Geddon.
map-wide sleep talent prob work for Geddon 😴
buffing ysera giving it more cards is kinda if your previous minis already have better level
Hybernate makes her a nerf to the team, just like blast wave on Ragnaros...
Tbh I found her pretty underwhelming. The minis aren’t powerful or gamechanging enough. Maybe they can give her a powerful passive?
I wonder if it'll become possible to seperately upgrade the added units... though probably not.
@@Stompy1984No, they will always match Ysera's level.

Ysera is a she, the Queen of Dreams.
