I made a mistake when porting this world from Journey Mode to the other world difficulties, which meant nothing was spawning. I fixed it, and have updated the download link. Sorry about that!

This is probably the most obscure and interesting farms I’ve ever seen in Terraria

To boost the rates of the farm even further you can use the underground desert biome whilst standing behind unsafe walls. This can bring a farm to the maximum possible spawn rate. This even works on the surface! Of course, the unsafe walls and massive block of sand might not be aesthetically pleasing, but nothing that some echo coating won't fix.
The reduced spawn rate when placing walls above the spider nests is because the available open tiles above the spawning area is too few. For an enemy to spawn succesfully, an empty tile above the spawn platform needs to be picked, and because there are so few of those, there are many failed spawn attempts.

So if the cave had only spider walls in it would that increase the spawn rate? Or would the caves need to be bigger?

You call this a "Goodie Bag Farm", but I think we all know the only reason you'd make this is specifically to farm for a bat hook.

I really wish there were monoliths for a ton of the special event and biomes like an eclipse monolith and graveyard monolith it would give atmospheric parts of building so much potential
imo the final build ended up looking way better than the above-ground one, it was worth it
building around the farm and making it something both cool to look at and functional is such an interesting idea!

I really liked the decorative build and wanted to copy it to put my own twist on it, but he didn’t state a couple of the blocks he used, so I spent a good 20 minute slowmowing through this video and comparing to the wiki. So in case anyone else is wondering he used rich mahogany fences, brass shelf platforms, iron brick background walls, and echo walls to make the iron walls look like blocks rather than walls (at this time point) 8:00

Looks great! I think raising the skull to fit zombies and using a graveyard biome above ground might have been a better choice, but I like what you did regardless!

In my world I made my own graveyard biome but found the lightning flashes to be too much.

You were in fact originally correct about the graveyard thing, as ghosts won't naturally spawn with 6 or less graves (at least from my testing)
Those ghosts are ghosts that spawned because you broke the first two graves I think

I'll be honest, I think the Underground Desert works for this build. It give off the vibes of a spooky dungeon that you'd find below a castle or something, and I think it's really fitting for the Halloween vibe.

Spider farms also make the easiest Biome Key farms. Only 1 mob type and the spawn cap is increased from 15 to 25!
Instead of the graveyard biome, couldn't a few echo'd fog machines done the job of setting the ambience?

Even underground and with the skull raised up you couldn't do the graveyard because of the ghosts? That sucks. Doesn't the Don't Starve crossover have an item that can desaturate the world? Then you could maybe make your own fog and have it be close enough to a graveyard without spawning the zombies or ghosts?
Dear Khaios, can I ask you for detailed tutorial about HOIKs, especially using it in mob farms. I mean I'd love too see how you build your Dungeon farm on last Terracorps series.
Like i'd love to see using the HOIK to fast transport enemies into killing chamber. Do we need use block swapped platforms for most efficiency or not? Maybe we need actuate the HOIK and wire it to timer?
IIRC you promised to make HOIK tutorials in some video anyway. Please make one, HOIK is the oldest and coolest Terraria bug and many tutorials on YT are not explaining how they work at all and what are the most common mistakes while building one.

Im not sure about this but I think the ghosts only spawned becouse you broke 2 tombs to stop the zombies from spawning.
