- Yesterday was the craziest morning of my life. Someone tried to STEAL my dog Shino. After talking to friends and family, I decided to share the story with you all. Keep in mind I recorded this yesterday, forgetting that I’d upload it today. I wasn’t thinking extremely clearly at the time.

Edit: after watching, I can’t believe that someone tried to straight up area your dog, and then played victim! So glad the cop was smart enough to see through the lady’s BS. The guy who held you did the right thing, but read it wrong. Would have done the same thing, and I’m glad the woman got arrested. Hope you feel better dude!

Good on you for staying calm the whole time and not acting out, and good on the guy for trying to do the right thing, even though he executed it horribly. And thank God the woman got arrested. Also good on the officers for doing their jobs right unlike some. 👍

I'm not sure what she was thinking or how she thought she'd get away with it. Fairly certain that she needs some professional help tho, because that's not something a sane, rational person does.
People are not "crazy," nor is it in our nature to act this way. The evil economic system in which we live under enforces greed, selfishness. And so on. It is humans that have been corrupted by a system. Not humans corrupting a system.

We don't know if her dog really was her dog though. It was probably taken on suspicion of that dog also being stolen

It’s scary what can happen to a man. I hear about stories like this a lot. Especially this one about a father with his daughter. The mother went into a store for a moment and a random woman walked up and started screaming that the father was trying to abduct her child. The father was beat by everyone while this stranger almost walked away with his kid. Thankfully the actual mother came out in time.
That is terrifying. Stuff like that is also part of the reason I didn't fight back when the guy grabbed me. I didn't want to make the situation turn violent because of my desperation.

This is irrelevant because male karens exist. Secondly, society favors women. The only reason people often "assume the guy is wrong" is because men automatically view women as weak and fragile.

@@sladehunter Yes they do suck. Stop blaming society for the faults of shitty parents and excusing people who do bad things. You think you're being really smart and intelligent here (you're not). Society doesn't convince people that stealing someone's dog is okay to do. Bad parents who don't teach their kids that stealing is wrong and why it is wrong or parents who are entirely absent/lazy in their parenting and just think that what being a good parent is about is buying them clothes and feeding them. A lot of parents nowadays are lazy as hell, not all of them, but a lot. Society isn't the reason she thinks stealing a dog at a dog park is okay but let's play devil's advocate and say it was. It still doesn't excuse nor justify it. Stealing is wrong period and the fact you think you can excuse this person stealing is disgusting.

WOW! I'm sorry you had to deal with all of that horse crap man. That is utterly INSANE that people think they can get away from this type of stuff. You're lucky the police that arrived were smart enough to know to check documentation. I've seen plenty of police that don't care enough to look into much, and will just arrest who LOOKS bad at the time. Understandably the guy read it wrong, probably just thought he was being chivalrous. A charged phone with photos of you and your dog would've helped, lol. Any who, glad it all worked out for ya man. Just a shame this even happened. Hope ya feel better.
Yeah, me not having my phone was a real problem there. I'm just glad it all worked out in the end, and yeah that the responding officer was competent.

She deserves jail time. Stealing your pet is one of the worst things that can happen to you, so I really hope she will get her lesson.
She deserves treatment so she doesn't do something wreckless and stupid. Sitting in a room is not going to change people.

Life is just not going well for this guy
I think this situation ended as good as it could've, actually. Shino is home, nobody was hurt, and justice was served. It was crazy, for sure, but didn't end poorly.

I hear these kinds of stories happening scarily often. I don't get why anyone would feel entitled to take YOUR pet and claim it as their own.
On the flip side, I like this little storytime format and I think you should do it more often :)
If she succeeded in taking Shino, she would either hold him for ransom to extort money, or she would've got bored of him almost immediately and either abandon him or straight-up kill him and throw him somewhere. I've seen several stories of dog thieves like this on the internet.
I'm just glad that Shino and Khaios are okay. ^_^
I actually had something similar happen with our little Australian Shephard/Blue Heeler, good thing the cop and you handled it well!

No problem, take as much time as you need off, having someone do that to your dog can be so stressful, I couldn't imagine what I'd do if I was in that situation.
Having your dog registration with you at all time when out with the dog is a really good advice. I never thought about it but now I'll remember that. Thanks for sharing your story

I’m glad you and Shino are okay! That sounds like it had to be very stressful, I have no idea what I would’ve done if it was one of my dogs- although I don’t think my dogs would be easily stolen, they are fairly large and very clingy haha
It's such a sad incident, but I'm glad you got shino save and sound back home.
In our town the dogsection in some parks got closed or got term of use restrictions after similar dubious actions and misbehavior in a short time span. Just a sad thing all around
Dude I hate people so much man. My mom is a vet and I’ve worked as a technician in the clinic. I’m attached to animals more than the vast majority of people and this typa shit really, really pushes me other the edge. Like I don’t know how I would’ve restrained myself if I was there 💀

Idk what i might do in a situation like that... so glad you got through it as well as you did. If i was that other guy, id definitely have stepped in too, try to keep it peaceful and keep both people there until the police arives.
Keep staying positive, calm, and level headed khaios it my not always be easy but it really (and I mean it), really helps with getting through or recovering from a situation like that.

Where I live there's no such thing as registration tags, and not having your phone on you to hopefully show pictures of your dog to the officer to prove it's yours, what a terrifying experience.
It’s awful that people think they can just get away with this, not only is theft bad obviously, but the stress that they are putting the dog through is horrible, there are some unbelievably entitled people in this world. I’ve heard similar stories before, which means that this probably isn’t that rare. I know I would be very stressed if this ever happened to me, so I hope both you and Shino are ok!

This is actually very similar to a situation that I seen online a while back. Same gender roles, except the lady was trying to take the mans stroller with his baby in it.

This happens alot, good thing you had the proper registration with the city. My cousin had the same thing happen at a dog park where the guy leashed my cousin's dog and tried to leave. Unlike your situation, the other dog park attendants helped to restrain the thief until the police arrived.
