UI UPDATE NOW AVAILABLE: ua-cam.com/video/sDjD0PIiebM/v-deo.html
Can I get the same update by just downloading it from the "update software" option in the main menu?
Update is out and works fine. Dealer did it on my 2022 Outback last week
Yup already did a follow up video with the new update
Bummer. I had the dealer do this one, waiting on the next update so the seat heater buttons do what they should rather than opening a stupid graphic.
Still waiting for the whole area.
I commented on your original video. Have you had anymore issues with the radio freezing up since the update?
None, it seems to have fixed it for me.
I have 23 legacy but have not realized there is much difference between old and new. Yesterday I got the 22 touring xt and figured out that even the wired android auto only takes half of the screen. Men Subaru should do all the UI software upgrades for the old car...
yea the android thing has been a long going issue that they are supposed to fix in the next update.
Have you updated to the latest version (for now)? Does it have any heating button like in the 2023 infotainment system (you don't need to go inside the seat heating settings to adjust, you can control the level of heating from the main screen)
Oh darn, I was hoping it would be a significant design change. This doesn’t seem worth the effort tbh… I’ll wait for the next one.
Next one just dropped yesterday. I’ll be doing a video on it today
@@hanksgarage_ whoo! Thanks!

My 2022 outback infotainment is always crashing and slow. I had the dealer update it about 6 months ago and it made it even worse. Terrible.
The 2023's have the updated HVAC controls already. I am not a fan of the huge screen. Especially the early ones they used in the Legacy/Outback. They are slow, laggy and buggy.
This update seems to have made it better to an extent. We will see
Is the update available yet for a 2021 Outback Touring XT to control the heated and cooled seats from the top screen like on the new 2023s? If so, how do I download and install it?
My 2021 Outback had an issue with the screen going blank. I asked the dealer to update and got the latest version like the new ones come with.
How has the hvac controls being digital been for you?
Different but I got used to it pretty quick
This system has been absolute garbage. Even worse with my new iPhone. I’m going to get rid of the car just for this.
Its my biggest issue with the car as well, I love everything else about it except for the infotainment system and the lower than advertised gas mileage
why would anyone want all that nonscence in a car? distrackted driveing....bigtime.(yes im a old fart)
It’s what consumers want. So businesses sell it. That’s capitalism.
@@hanksgarage_ its all junk
@@oldcarnocar blame capitalism then
Don’t have a choice if you want this car, and many other cars are the same. I miss the physical controls for fan speed and temperature and the clicky buttons for seat heaters and other things you might normally adjust while driving.
@@oldcarnocar it’s definitely not junk, but the design isn’t the best. It all works great though.
