If you only use 1 leg I put them at a 55/45 ratio as most weight and pressure during bed room activity's will cause stress higher up than centre normally. I much prefer 2 legs, the nation is getting larger so I go 2 legs on wider beds. 1 at the knee and 1 at the lower back section to offer the best stress hold, ill admit its more of a flaff but it does work as when you have 240kg tossing and turning or other activity's then it goes a long way. Hotel wise its the same, we all know the main use of a hotel room normally and so the knee leg goes a long way for when people jump onto the beds or the higher up leg which takes pressure when they dive onto the beds. Not many will care but its useful too know and think about when you build a bed for a larger couple or hotel bed.
Thanks for your comment vaw power, I hear what your saying and it makes sense. However, my wife and I are a combined weight of about 140 kilos, so we're a pretty healthy weight, and with all the slats and support I've given the bed - it is plenty strong enough for us. Don't forget that the top and bottom of the centre rail is also supported, and the 3" x 2" timber is also very strong. Plenty of opportunity to strengthen if need be 👍💪
Só melhorou o que já estava perfeito. O vídeo anterior eu senti falta desse suporte no centro, ainda mais por se tratar de uma cama grande, obrigada por nos mostrar esse “reparo”. 🇧🇷👍🏻👏🏻👊🏻
He did good job I am all the sudden thinking 2 legs for my bed underneath I just bought this bed and now is so flimsy can’t believe now days how they make things lol
@@JBTV Appolgies, hadn't noticed a reply. Yes absolutely if its fit for your own purpose then sure. It was a generalised comment too the majority. Thank you for taking the time to reply, shall you be making an update video about the frame ?
Wow kiddos on your idea can’t find anyone that can help me make this my bed in middle with legs are horrible very flimsy and now it slants wished you and family was closer I would hire you to make this good job
And ment kuddos not kiddos lol I am still trying to figure out how to get this fixed won’t let me show a picture of the issue I am having with this new bed

Thank pikricky, appreciated
Awesome work
Is a center rail on a twin platform overkill? Mine is only 1 meter(39 inches) width.
I wouldn't put a centre rail on a single bed..
@@JBTV Thanks for the reply. I guess it would take away any flex to the slats which are already very short as is.
where did you get all the planed wood from? I've only found Wickes that do planed timber.

Bed center support
You secure that foot with a bigger screw than all the people in America use to hold their houses
