This game will be totally worth the price. Anyone who has played previous Megaten titles should know there's a huge of amount of content and lots of replay value.
I feel like this is Nintendo right now: "What do i do with all of these releases? i can't hold all of these releases! Oh no here comes the fan mail too!"
Uh is Shoji Meguro not doing the music anymore? This sounds like Motoi Sakuraba who does the music for the Golden Sun and Tales series. Very rock oriented.
Well you can wait to pick it up later then, but the 50 bucks is because the first copies of the game come with a limited edition boxset that includes an artbook and some other stuff. Just make sure, if you already have FE:A, to register the game on a Club Nintendo account before August 31. If you do that and fill out both surveys they are going to give you 30 extra bucks in eshop credit :)
The Vita is actually getting a lot of good games in Japan this year. Freedom Wars, Toukiden, etc. I just wish that the USA would continue to localize more PSP games, considering the PSP is still going strong in Japan.
I'm hoping once SMT IV has been around for a little while they will start talking about SMT x FE. The reason they haven't mentioned much on it seems to be because it might spoil stuff from the games or at least imo :(
Nope, Meguro's not in this. The composer is Ryota Koduka, he's been arranging on some Megaten games like Persona remakes on PSP, DeSu OC & DeSu 2, and also Trauma Team. Well actually the OST (that I can listen to in the net at least) is closer to SMT I-II style than anything Meguro ever done.
By that logic a movie i.e Moving Picture should only be measured by how much movement there is when for most people the writing acting, story, and characters, come first. with games it's very similar that is why people bitched and complained about the ending to mass effect 3 is because that game based it's self around the story much like this game. If you don't like games growing up and telling better story's then that's your problem not mine.(also I don't have a problem with this voice acting.)
That's all opinions, I personally care about the original language which is one reason I like my ps3/vita: I can import games without needing a different console :p but for region locked consoles that's different, so it's always nice for people like us when they do put the option to keep japanese voice actor (also some people prefer the japanese type of voice acting than the american style, and yes they are very different). Of course though it's not a dealbreaker if we can't have it in japanese.
You can, by buying the Japanese version of the game. It doesn't include english subs, but hey. It's got classic japanese voice actors you know, you love, and you can't certainly hate.
Actually, the idea that there is no L sound in Japanese is a bit misunderstood. There is a combined L and R sound, similar to Spanish rolling Rs. This is one reason why Japanese often have difficulty correctly pronouncing English words containing either L or R. So, I think it's understandable if he hears an L sound.
Well if that's how you play games that'S totally fine, but for a lot of us not only the gameplay matters; if I play a game with bad gameplay but the story is great and the mechanics of the games are well crafted, AND the voice acting cast does a great job, I'll still play the game, whereas is those last ones are not good but the gameplay is good, I probably wont play the game for long before dropping it.
actually most films in the silent era were not story driven they followed more in the lines of the 3 stooges with mindless slapstick. Now I'm not saying that a game should become movies in fact games should embrace gameplay and the story should be told through the gameplay not through cut-scenes but to say that games should not strive for greater story is saying that games should stay children's toys for as that is what they started as.
Oh yeah because those Gamestop's sure do lie with their prices huh? That PS Vita I saw at GameStop with a HUGE corner sticker saying $299.99 is a lie right? Don't get me wrong, I kind of want to own one, but that price is not worth that little bit of hardware and a few select games.
It has been confirmed for a Europe release so no petition or the like is needed. But indeed, not having an official european branch has been problematic for Atlus games.
Ok not trying to be nooby but. I keep seeing the old medieval setting, then what looks like modern japan. Do they like time jump, or is the medieval area just kinda hidden form society?
No it's not; have you ever heard about visual novels? It's a type of game with very close to no gameplay at all, but you play them for their story. Also an example of a game would be Asura's Wrath; the gameplay was repetitive and got boring, but I just HAD to know what happened next so I kept playing
I love the their pronunciation of Samurai! This is correct. Now if only Toe-Kyo could stop being pronounced Toe-Key-Yoe. Anyway, it's just fun cultural differences- Germanic flair vs. the world.
I don't know how I would have been seen. Perhaps you know more about that then me. Perhaps I'm a sheep. I don't care. I play video games because I enjoy them, and yeah, I enjoy a great storyline and good voice acting, but that doesn't mean I only like games like that, I also love games that are only about the gameplay.
Guys... That's how Samurai is pronounced. It's a Japanese word, that you've probably been mispronouncing this entire time if you think they're saying it wrong.
@iceloveanime, Actually, he's still mispronouncing it, which is what makes it so funny. It's Saw-moo-raw'ee, he's pronouncing the phonetic as saw-mer-ai. In romajii, sa-mu-ra-i.
I hope it'll get released soon in europe... I never played a game of this franchise, but the gameplay reminds me a lot of Earthbound (which I loved since the WiiU release of it) and since there is Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem comes out 2015 or so, I'd like to see what this series have to offer.
It's called an English accent. They are saying it correctly for the most part, but there are a few issues. The first being that the 'Sa' is a bit too exaggerated, but I still don't get why people are hearing an 'o' sound. It's definitely a 'Saah'. The other thing is the 'Ra'. But that is understandable, because R and L sounds are the hardest part of any accent to learn. I've learned 4 different languages, and all of the hardest parts of pronunciation where the R and L sounds.
What a silly comment. Of course graphics are a required element of video games. Hence why it is called a VIDEO game. Are you saying the only element of video games that can be critiqued is gameplay and every other part of the production should not matter to anyone? There are many aspects of videogames which i judge, voice acting included.
I get that's how Samurai is supposed to be pronounced, but have we REALLY gone this long without actually ever saying it like it that? That'd be really sad if it took until 2013 to get that one goddamn word right when even Americans love the concept of Samurai.
They can't. They don't have a European branch. I don't know why everyone has such a hard time understanding this. If you want it to come out in Europe, write an email to a European publisher that publishes these kind of games, and tell them that you would be interested in buying the game if they brought it to Europe. If a publisher sees enough attention for a certain game, they'll be more inclined to publish it in their region.
I agree haha I don't like playing japanese games in another language than japanese... well, any game in a language other than the original one, really :P
So one of the biggest RPG adventures to grace the 3DS with extensive content to last for plenty of hours is not worth it? That extra 10 bucks is just too much?
Mithra, Setanta, and High Pixie on the first part?
Looks like someone grinded out too much lol.
It looks like it's during NG+ since Flynn is still level 5 too lmao
This is one of the best video games I've ever played in my life.
I'm sure it is.....

"What do i do with all of these releases? i can't hold all of these releases! Oh no here comes the fan mail too!"
Please, port this game on Switch
It will probably be uploaded within the next few minutes.
The 3DS is freakin stacked with good games!!!
[Puts on gauntlet]
"It's time to due--oops, wait.."
Uh is Shoji Meguro not doing the music anymore? This sounds like Motoi Sakuraba who does the music for the Golden Sun and Tales series. Very rock oriented.
Wow, they need to bring awesome games like this to the Wii U

The music is just as badass as ever.
A month left.
To be fair it's a very common issue from Japanese to English translations ever since the Roto Loto argument from Dragon Warrior/ Dragon Quest.
Yeah, but that is for Wii U if I'm not mistaken, besides, they are releasing this one first
Thank God someone else is as excited as I am! Even better that it's you!
There's people who get the joke, and then there's you...
Since when is P4 almost 10 years old? Are you from the future?
