"A little girl walked up as asked me why I was drawing a Pikmin." You cannot imagine how proud he must have been in that instant. And that's so CUTE! X3
Absolutely Amazing Nintendo Direct You can see the passion he has for the game in his eyes. I've felt more watching this video than I have reading anything about Pikmin 3 on the internet.
Thank you for no day limit! I wanted to have a chance to observe and discover the new whole at hand, finding every little detail you and your team put such hard work into, and you made that possible for me and every other Pikmin fan out there. I can't wait until this comes out.
It's been a while since I've seen him that excited for a game. It's nice to see such an experienced person in the gaming industry to still feel creatively driven and committed to his projects
i am calling it right now. this will be the best game of this year for the wii u. its sad that people are still looking past it. the fact that miyamoto is so devoted and so passionate for this game. shows that it will be fantastic. can not wait for this game
That story about the little girl was awesome! Mr.Miyamoto thank you for being so awesome! Since I played Paper Mario Thousand Year Door I've always wanted to be a video game designer. Seeing you just lights my fire for my career choice. Thank you for making all these great games and I hope you'll get to play something I worked on in the future.
I've never played a Pikmin game before but I've always been interested in them. I really want to give this game a shot. Looks like fun and its very unique.
Miyamoto is so passionate about this. Its awesome. He doesn't feel like a guy trying to sell people a product. He's an artist trying to show people his art. Art he clearly enjoys himself. He is more of a nerd than any of the other people that play his games. Its amazing, and makes me want to buy the things he makes more than anything else an advertiser could ever possibly do.
the amount of respect i have for this man has no bounds....my god the day he dies i will mourn for WEEKS at a time, cant wait for pikmin 3 shigeru! i hope u keep doodling for what could be another great game in the future!
I'm really psyched for this game. To me, this feels like the perfect real-time strategy game for Wii U, but it's its own unique style of RTS! I like how it took the "command separate armies" mechanic Pikmin 2 introduced and fleshed it out into something more akin to an RTS you might play on the PC, where you can oversee everything you're doing. I'm really excited for it; I hope this opens the doors for more good RTS games on the Wii U! :)
the "point" depends on which game in the series you play, as their stories are (obviously) different in the first game, you race against a 30 time limit to collect parts of your crashed ship to get home before your life-support system runs out of power in the second, you collect treasure found outside and in underground caves in order to pay back the debt that your company incurred while you were away in the first game
When I first heard of the game, I thought it would be amazing. This isn't amazing, this is an absolute masterpiece of a game. I'll get this game the second it launches and at this point I'm absolutely sure I'll enjoy every second of it. It's the perfect combination of fun and challenging by the looks of it you can go hardcore and beat the game as fast and efficiently as you can but there's no punishment for taking your time and enjoying the game. Once again, Nintendo's done it! Thank you :)
Such a legend, i'm so glad Mr. Miyamoto is so passionate even today about the games he makes. I'm 17 now and going into my senior year of high school and I can still fondly look back on the first day I got my gamecube with smash bros. melee and pikmin. Pikmin was the game I played first, this series helped define my childhood, and it relieves me to that younger kids now still know about pikmin. Can't wait to play pikmin 3 =)
I accidently voted up your comment. Miyamoto is not only the person who rescued the gaming industry, he shows us how much passion and love there is left for videogames in general. This video is really heartwarming for a classic fan like me and many others. What is a little COD fan like you in comparison to that? Nothing. Just shut your mouth before you're embarrassing yourself even more. You should be happy that this man exists, you wouldn't be able to play your precious little games without him
so i was thinking...Nintendo should remake Pikmin 1 and 2 with the graphics of Pikmin 3...I mean, imagine fighting the titan dweevil with the Wii U's HD graphics, that would be SICK! part 1 and 2 would stay exactly the same just a major graphics update. They've already done it with Wind Waker why not Pikmin?
This man is a living legend, even without listening to him directly speak you can really get a sense of enthusiasm for what he is doing, which most certainly rubs off into the titles he develops.
You mean his TRANSLATOR sounds passionate. Haha, kiddin'. Been following this living genius pretty much since I was born. It shows in all of his games. Not a single bad one have I ever played.
I love how miyamoto explains what you do after you finish a task. He says to figure out what to do with the rest if your day. I take this as exploring the beautiful landscape and just having a gun adventure! I can't wait tip this brilliant game comes out!
I can't wait to play the game, I've played both Pikmin 1 and 2 so I'm excited to experience the Trilogy of the series. I especially want to encounter the new Rock Pikmin and Flying Pikmin along with battling the new enemies and bosses.
Shigeru, I know you'll never read this, but... Thank you. Thank you for your incredible, imaginative titles, thank you for an awesome-as-hell childhood, and thank you for giving me a reason to believe and trust in games and the gaming industry. Just... thank you.
pikmin 2 was really fun on the challeng mode and battle mode i had alot of fun with my friends and brothers when playing the battle, im happy there still putting a type of vs mode multiplayer in :D
You have no idea how happy I am that they finally made pikmin 3. I just wanted to start crying when I found out that this was coming out in August. I hate how I don't have any money though, or even a Wii U. I'm gonna buy one just for this game eventually
It's about strategy and time management. Pikmin 2 is one of my favourite games ever and it just brings a lot of fun and creativity. You have an army and you have to clear paths and collect items. As for the point? To have fun? I'm unsure what anyone means when they ask about the point of a game.
I desperately want to see the ship(s) that the captains have. I loved the designs of the ships from the first 2 games, and hope they are just as cool. It would even be awesome to be able to customize your ship with things from your spoils. I would love that!!
Miyamoto, the way he speaks about a game, he does it with such passion and joy, when you hear him, the way he describes pikmin, it brings a sort of child like whimsy to me, sure nintendo is not the most powerful console, but damn is it beautiful and they are truly passionate for their games, other developers just seem proud, or are pushing to release the next big thing for money, Mityamoto does it because it's fun:)
Man, Watching this, make me feel, happy, exited about this game, and happy about Shigeru, he obviously is happy with his creation, but, in some way, that wants me to buy the game now
I don't know if anyone noticed this (probably did), but at 4:57 the Pink Pikmin on Olimar's got struck by lightning and didn't die. So it could mean that you can save your pikmin from electricity by calling them just like with drowning, fire, and poison in the previous games, that pink pikmin are immune to electricity (lol, yeah right), or it's just a different thing and not electricity hazard at all.
Listening to Miyamoto talk is quite interesting... it makes you realize his developing philosophy is really different from the rest of the industry, and it makes you respect his work all the more because of it. I look forward to playing Pikmin 3.
Those of you who don't know who mr Miyamoto is, doesn't deserve any comment. He's the one who invented at least all what happened in Nintendo (mario above all). And an artist for videogame concepts, idea and development. If you want another COD maybe is better you don't own a Nintendo consolle. I bought it mostly for his ideas.
I feel the same way, and am also jealous that they get to work like that. i've always wanted to work at nintendo, but after the developer direct, I want to even more :D
Sticker Star turned out the way it did because Miyamoto looked at a port of the Gamecube game to 3DS and said he wanted something that hadn't been done before. It didn't turn out that great, but he's the guy who always strives to do something different.
I like how the luster on the enemy's shell at 2:08 really brings out the texture. The HD graphics are looking great!
Miyamoto, never cease to be a happy person. The world needs more happy people like you.
Yoshi's VGM hi
Miyamoto:
The creator of:
Mario
Zelda
Donkey Kong
Star Fox
F-Zero
And
Pikmin.
Pikmin is a underrated series. Too much underrated!
Agreed
"A little girl walked up as asked me why I was drawing a Pikmin."
You cannot imagine how proud he must have been in that instant.
And that's so CUTE!

Absolutely Amazing Nintendo Direct
You can see the passion he has for the game in his eyes. I've felt more watching this video than I have reading anything about Pikmin 3 on the internet.
im a pc gamer, but i had to buy the wii u just for this game, yep it is that good of a game.

Thank you for no day limit! I wanted to have a chance to observe and discover the new whole at hand, finding every little detail you and your team put such hard work into, and you made that possible for me and every other Pikmin fan out there. I can't wait until this comes out.

miyamoto when you are about to retire i just want to say thank you for all the games you make.
6 years and still kicking.
i am calling it right now. this will be the best game of this year for the wii u. its sad that people are still looking past it. the fact that miyamoto is so devoted and so passionate for this game. shows that it will be fantastic. can not wait for this game
6:35 lol the pikmin laughed at him for drawing a pikmin.
Magnemite Thames lol
I love how Miyamoto treats his occupation as less of a job, and more as a passion. He's absolutely brilliant.
I've never played Pikmin before, but I'll definitely be getting this one. It looks like a lot of fun, and I really like the environments.
I keep coming back just because I love how much passion he has for his job
I've never played a Pikmin game before but I've always been interested in them. I really want to give this game a shot. Looks like fun and its very unique.
i have pikmin 1 and 2 for gamecube console and the expirience was awesome and i will buy pikmin3 Miyamoto is the best thank you Miyamoto
:)
No Pikmin 4 :(
Miyamoto is so passionate about this.
"Who plays Pikmin?"
Those with a God Complex for starters.
the amount of respect i have for this man has no bounds....my god the day he dies i will mourn for WEEKS at a time, cant wait for pikmin 3 shigeru! i hope u keep doodling for what could be another great game in the future!
ill be sure to get this game when i purchase mario kart 8
Plot twist: Both games have switch ports

just admit it ALL THE GAMES AT E3 ARE GONNA BE GREAT
Watching Miyamoto talk about video games always makes me happy...
"Hey! That's a Pikmin!" I wish at least ONE of my college classmates said that when I drew one on the whiteboard. AND I'M GOOD AT DRAWING!
This game looks amazing! Can't wait to see where the series goes!

5:38 Cool! My Gamecube was collecting dust :D

He can never die, his awesomeness will be in all of Nintendo's children!
I wasn't to big on pikmin before but now this just makes me really excited for it :)
I'm playing my way through Pikmin 3 and omg everything is so beautiful and the Pikmin are so cute! ^.^
miyamoto, your my hero. no matter what happens you will always be a magnificent genius in our eyes
This guy is the best thing that has happened to humanity!
I accidently voted up your comment.

Man this guy is really starting to get old, I remember when they released the first Smash he looked much more alive.
Long live Miyamoto!
Thank you so much! :) I admire Mr. Miyamoto so much!
how can you people complain!!!!! i have waited for this game for 7 years!!! be thankful!!
so i was thinking...Nintendo should remake Pikmin 1 and 2 with the graphics of Pikmin 3...I mean, imagine fighting the titan dweevil with the Wii U's HD graphics, that would be SICK! part 1 and 2 would stay exactly the same just a major graphics update. They've already done it with Wind Waker why not Pikmin?

I love pikmin 3 so much
i imagine miyamoto going in the neighborhood disguised as link gathering childrens to play pikmin XD
i love the pikmin just popping in and out of this video. greatly looking forward to this!
his smile and enthusiasm for his games makes me smile. this guy is a god.
I once doubt about wii u. Now i want it so much
Ever notice how this man is always smiling? His life's work has literally been to make people happy.
Miyamoto is a living legend.
Thank you for everything you've done!
Wii U - PS4 - xbone.
There. We can all go home now.
We still NEED PIKMIN 4
You mean his TRANSLATOR sounds passionate.
Haha, kiddin'. Been following this living genius pretty much since I was born. It shows in all of his games. Not a single bad one have I ever played.
It Comes Out On My B Day !!! I'm Getting It !!
Who's here after Pikmin 3 Deluxe got Confirmed?!
The living legend, Miyamoto... You made my childhood, man, and you still amaze me with your incredible work.
I love how miyamoto explains what you do after you finish a task. He says to figure out what to do with the rest if your day. I take this as exploring the beautiful landscape and just having a gun adventure! I can't wait tip this brilliant game comes out!
My gosh, don't voiceover him! Let the master of video games speak his home language and CAPTION him! I want to hear him speak!
The man is a living legend. I'm looking forward to playing this game soon.
its kinda sad seeing miyamoto's hair gray
I can't wait to play the game, I've played both Pikmin 1 and 2 so I'm excited to experience the Trilogy of the series. I especially want to encounter the new Rock Pikmin and Flying Pikmin along with battling the new enemies and bosses.
Shigeru, I know you'll never read this, but...
Thank you. Thank you for your incredible, imaginative titles, thank you for an awesome-as-hell childhood, and thank you for giving me a reason to believe and trust in games and the gaming industry.
Just... thank you.
continued gamecube controller support, thank you so much. game looks great!
pikmin 2 was really fun on the challeng mode and battle mode i had alot of fun with my friends and brothers when playing the battle, im happy there still putting a type of vs mode multiplayer in :D
Miyamoto is so adorable! There's just something about his permanently happy expression that lets you know that he has the best job in the world.
I love this man.
Thank you for your brilliance, Shigeru.
You have no idea how happy I am that they finally made pikmin 3. I just wanted to start crying when I found out that this was coming out in August. I hate how I don't have any money though, or even a Wii U. I'm gonna buy one just for this game eventually

I have been looking forward to Pikmin 3 for so long, and it looks great! It's so awesome to hear Shigeru Miyamoto so excited about it!
I've never played Pikmin before, but after watching this I am pretty excited to give it a go.
Miyamoto-san, please why won't you be..my neighbor.
LOL remember Mr. Rogers guys?
Times like this is where I just want to give Shigeru a hug and say thank you.
"And I only need to pay money to keep playing it once a month!"
And you can't forget that even if you are part of said older audience, you can still enjoy their games, seeing as their fun for anyone.
Man, Watching this, make me feel, happy, exited about this game, and happy about Shigeru, he obviously is happy with his creation, but, in some way, that wants me to buy the game now

Miyamoto looks SOO happy in this interview Happy retirement I'll miss your work but I hope you will be happy for Pikmin 3
I love these "developer directs." I wish other developers did this...
Game of The Year Alert!!! The visuals look amazing!!! Pikmin games are one of my favorites!! So stoked! Can't wait! Pre-ordered already!
Listening to Miyamoto talk is quite interesting... it makes you realize his developing philosophy is really different from the rest of the industry, and it makes you respect his work all the more because of it. I look forward to playing Pikmin 3.
Wow. Miyamoto really takes pride in what he does.
The game is really satisfying to play I probably played it like 18 times not joking I am upsets with this game it’s literally amazing
4:22
Oh Hi Olimar nice to see your not dead.
Ahh pikmin takes me way back.
Bosses keeping their health between days is an ingenious concept.
Nintendo will always have that coolness about them
Those of you who don't know who mr Miyamoto is, doesn't deserve any comment. He's the one who invented at least all what happened in Nintendo (mario above all). And an artist for videogame concepts, idea and development. If you want another COD maybe is better you don't own a Nintendo consolle. I bought it mostly for his ideas.
Iv been waiting for this game for so long can't wait till it comes out
I love the part about the kids, that's so cute!
I can't wait to dive into this game.
He's just such a passionate guy I LOVE IT. PERFECT PERSON.
I feel the same way, and am also jealous that they get to work like that. i've always wanted to work at nintendo, but after the developer direct, I want to even more :D
i wish i could speak japanese so i could listen to miyamoto without a translator
That Won Dude me too
Miyamoto you are a gaming god you thought Mickey Mouse was big and now you made a franchise that has exceeded Mickey Mouse you are truly a legend
Sticker Star turned out the way it did because Miyamoto looked at a port of the Gamecube game to 3DS and said he wanted something that hadn't been done before. It didn't turn out that great, but he's the guy who always strives to do something different.
