Man, the amount of nostalgia I have for this trailer and game is immense. I truly do miss these times, so damn much. No matter what anyone says, the Wii U era was a special time for me.
This trailer set the standard for my expectations. Nothing before, and nothing since, has blown me away the way that this trailer did. And the game held up to the promise. I hope MonolithSoft tries to make a game like this again
honestly though. After seeing stuff like FF7, cyberpunk 2077 and the like, I feel like we can confidently say this is the only game trailer in history which blew me away in a "this has gotta be impossible man" kind of way, only to deliver much more than we could've imagined
Shattered Sentient But it could be better. Better graphics, more thing's to do, more different monsters, better and longer story and more character insights. If you liked this game, you probably like Nier: Automata.

Same thoughts here. From time to time I just have to rewatch the trailer and the most fascinating thing is that it did not lie to us. The final product had everything in it. Still a reason to own a Wii U.
I saw a silhouette of a ball figure from the beach shores of Oblivia. Just for the heck of it, I began flying over there thinking it was probably something out of bounds. About 2 minutes later, the textures started forming. I could see large mountains, and a massive ball looking structure rested on top those mountains. I found myself in Sylvalum. I flew on top of this ball, parked my skell, and sat down looking in the direction I came from.
Coming back all this time later, it's quite interesting to hear The Key We've Lost considering they ultimately used that track for the final boss fight lmao It's also cool to see that much of the terrain was finalized by that point, the geography and layouts seem nearly identical to the final game Also interesting to see that the Zu Pharg must have been one of their oldest ideas; would have been interesting to fight it in Cauldros instead of Sylvalum, but oh well
Looking at this trailer, the most amazing thing I see is just how little changed in terms of locations or designs between this and the final game. It's one of the rare, wonderful times that everything promised in an early trailer is actually given to us in the final game
Well the graphics got downgraded and this cutscene isent nearly as nice in the actual game...though aside from that yeah your pretty much squeeing when this cutscene happens
+Zeke Blane (shadavar) Yeah, but the graphical change is normal for an E3 trailer. Most E3 trailers that have gameplay tend to have portions they show that are cut out or drastically altered in the main game; Kingdom Hearts 2's original trailer had an entire cutscene that was not in the original game, for example. And yeah, when I got to that part in the game, I was like "...no way... they're not going to do a frame-by-frame nod to the trail- THEY ARE! WEEEEE!"
+Doomerang01 While not as deceptive as many other trailers, I do notice X's trailers focused a lot on skells and exploration when these things are only a fraction of the whole game experience. Considering how long it takes to get a skell and how frustrating exploring the world can be without one, that was maybe a little misleading. But then if the trailer were completely honest, the amazing trailer music would be intermittently stopped as a monster 20 levels above them chases them half way across the world. :P
Unpopular opnion: I like it more than Xenoblade 2 ( 1 is still my favorite) My favorite wii u game, unfortunately, it was built heavy on the wii u gamepad. Still, I hope for a 2nd chance on switch (farming materials for the last skells without online co-op is nuts in this game)
The best part is that it takes really long and it's really hard to get. It makes finally doing it so much better. Or getting an Ares 90, it's an amazing feeling of accomplishment.

This is the kind of game Nintendo should be promoting heavily for the Wii U. Detailed, open-world game in 1080p, and we all we've seen is this trailer.
I still remember the Nintendo Direct where this was announced for the first time when i was 14, and i could not stop watching it for days after. I could not believe this was going to be released for the Wii U, after being told again and again that Nintendo only made games for kids and was the weakest party in the industry while the console was already failing. Now with Nintendo making a massive come back and the Switch going on its way to become one of the best sold gaming systems in history, i watch this trailer again, and i still feel extremely impressed that this was available on the Wii U, it may be one of the most technically impressive games i´ve seen on the console, along with one of the most memorable trailers i´ve seen in my life, at least on the side of Nintendo.

I found my personal reason to own a Wii U. This, Nintendo.. is what you need to impress. Not the hundreds of Mario Spin-Offs. Start heavily advertising this game, and I GUARANTEE you will see Wii U units sell like hot cakes.

Like theyre arent even a total of 100 mario games. shoot maybe slightly over 50 and thats over the course of 30 years. thats a long as time you guys overexaggerate mario. The original dead island trailer had a lot of gravity at the time. Other games didnt market themselves like that.
Sort of reminds me to that metroid other m teaser were Samus is walking around the Federation. That one was also sick.

Xenobalde Chronicles and Hiroyuki Sawano are the 2 most important things in my life. When I saw the new Xenoblade X Trailer with Sawanos godmusic, I was literally about to pass out. No joke. My love for nintendo reached new heights after this announcement. Thanks for making this a reality, Nintendo.
