My family flew in to Isle St. George when I was about 9 Years old. We had an uncle that worked in the vineyards there.I"m now 71 and don"t remember much about it except that it was covered with grape vines. Is anyone still alive who might have info about the people who lived there in the 50's?
My great, great, great grandfather and his brother (Simon and Peter Fox) owned most of the island starting in late 1800’s I think. I have an old map with properties and who owned them. Had a summer home there my grandfather went to up until 1950’s I think. Some Foxes in small cemetery by chapel. I visited about 20 years ago.
Thanks you for your drone view of the island. Being a drone owner I'd love to do fly overs of all the islands. 2 questions I hope you'll answer. Is Isle of St. George an actual village? There's a gal in a Lake Erie Facebook group I'm in that lives there. Also.... is there any type of ferry service to the island. I've been to Kelleys and PIB several times. I hope to get to MBI soon.
its crazy! there are people who live there year round, we flew in to the small landing strip on the island and went to check on my instructors house he has there. from what he said everyone on the island is related. I know a few people if you want to get out there. there is a ferry that goes there in the summer or i can get you a flight in cheap
Appreciate the reply and the offer. I just wondered how NBI compared to the others. When I saw your video I surmised that there were less people there than on MBI or PIB.
I've paddled out there several times. Honestly the video only shows you part of the story. Truly a remarkable hidden gem in Ohio. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice! I’ve always thought it would be fun to be there and explore for a few hours. This might be the closest I come to that.
Wow just amazing use to spend time as a child there even attended the school they have thank you for the video.
Wait people live there?

I really need to live on North Bass! Thanks for the video!
really nice! who's doing the music in the background?
Clean up the algae blooms turning the lake into split pea soup.
That's a long--term project. No immediate fixes.

Nice vid.
All that algae is a complete shame, caused by humans that water should never look like that
I came there
