I can't believe how upset people are about 30m water resistance. It's a dress watch! Just because Panerai once made watches for the Italian navy doesn't mean that's the only type of watch they're allowed to make. Calm down
Agree. Splash resistance is all it needs, You wouldn't even want to plunge your hand into a sink full of water with this watch because of the leather strap, why would it need more than 30m?
I love the idea of a Panerai that serves as every point for people who are interested but not yet fully on board with what the whole Panerai thing. This one knocks down the size barrier, but leaves some other big barriers in place (price) and even creates some new ones (WR).
30M is 100 feet. How much deeper are you going to be going down into the ocean with your dress watch? Let that sink into your brain for a few minutes before you reply.
The date / closed case back are big minuses. It would also be nice, especially in this price range, if Panerai would use more interesting and unique dial materials > mother of pearl, etc. The dial material is often way too bland. This is way over priced at $6k. Even if all of the above where incorporated, it would still be over priced. And I love Panerai, it's my favorite manufacturer.
I like it. Yes even quite a bit 😃 However I would have liked it even more if the second hand and date complication were removed and replaced by the numbers 3 and 9. Greetings from Denmark
I love Panerai and only wears Panerai, I was at the boutique yesterday and tried this one on my wrist it felt very bizzare and small. Panerai must be 44 case size that’s what Panerai is all about, like or hated!!!
The problem with Panerai is not design. It is quality. For this particular watch the quality is subpar. My watch then I ordered, green dial, is faulty from box, misaligned minute and hour hands. If that is Panerai quality, it is horrible…not worth 100 USD not mention 10,000. I am no longer surprised the brand is sinking.
These watches, as well as the Due, could have been the most amazing Panerai launches yet, but 30M is quite bad for such a brand. I bought the Luminor Quaranta, and at least it has 100M.
The shame of these Panerai, which are the ones that I like, is that they don't have any Panerai credentials. 30m water resistance? Well then, why is this a Panerai and just not any other watch? I agree that they blew it on the date though.
$6 k for a 30 m depth rated Panerai ? Sure, sounds like a $100 k Porsche two seater with 95 bhp. But is it important ? The customers Panerai is targeting here are probably not Italian combat divers nor dive watch geeks, but rather civilians who will see an ad in a lifestyle magazine and walk passed a Richemont boutique in a posh shopping mall
Whoa. This video got a lot of comments really fast. This is one reason being the CEO of Panerai is not an admirable position. IMHO, trying to satisfies the die-hards while expanding market share is almost impossible. That effort to thread the needle is the origin of the problems with this watch, regardless of one’s approach. Perhaps Panerai should make some watches just like it was 1937, and a few more like it’s the 21st century.

Agreed.
It's been updated to 50m. Perfectly swimmable now.
Absolutely agree on that date window -- ruins what ought to be a really good looking offering from Panerai.
Disagree. A tool watch must have a date.
@@cruxae Maybe so... but one that doesn't look so rubbish. In any case, with my eyesight they are completely superfluous.
might as well you open a watch company n run it
@@litan114 It has crossed my mind
I could care less about the 30m rating,....I don't think I'll be diving below 100feet of water with this watch on.

Please go see it in person! So pretty!
Agreed with you.
Should remove the date window and will look super clean
Finally a 40. awesome!
The stated water reistance from Panerai is 50m not 30m
30m WR is panerai actually showing the finger to the customers
A joke.
Completely agree !
I dont need to go swimming in my dress watch.

people are mad they can’t go scuba diving with a watch with a leather strap
I like the watch. It's on a leather or alligator strap so I don't see why water resistance is a problem. I wouldn't give that a second thought.
Always wondered with watches that have those wire lugs, what happens when the strap wears out, or heaven forbid, you might want to change the strap?
You can take the wire lugs of on Panerais, there is 2 screws for each lug on the back.
@@marvinberwart thanks Marvin!
It's a very good looking PAM with good proportions but there's no "boldness" in a 40mm radiomir.
Should have reduced to 42mm, no date, 100m WR.
Still the prettiest watch on the market today. Panerai is the one to get.
Good review. Happy to have found your channel. Subscribed !
Awesome, thank you!

What do you think, if you could buy it for 4.000$? Is it fair enough??
Don't get me wrong its a lovely watch. The Radiomir, however, is a dive piece that is chunky and legible.
the date window ruins it

Think they should dump the date for their style of 3. 30m water resistance is a joke.
Who cares about water resistance-it’s a dress watch.
Too bad the Radiomir isn’t 38mm and without a date.
That PAM is yelling JOKE !! Come on Panerai, 30 m ???? Easy pass for me and I do like OP watches. Thanks for such a great content W&W Team !
Its actually 50m, which is 164 feet. Id say its water resistant. wouldn't you?

my 34mm watch can manage 100m of water resistance, but this..........
It’s a Panerai ! 40mm meh ! Needs to be 44/5 mm.
A Donut have a better water resistance than this Panerai...
100 feet is more than enough water resistance for the common person.
@@bigmacdaddy1234 30m = not even splash safe, do your homework.
