Love ya work man! No one provides advice like you do to beginners on land based shark fishing. You’ve given me the confidence to get into it! Yew! Legend!
An excellent video. It's guys like you that give us anglers a good reputation. Catch and kill for no good reason is a thing of the past. Those who still kill for no reason need to stop and take notice from you and all those around the world. That you don't have to kill everything you catch. Envy you guys wish we had fish like you get in Australia.
Great info! I ended up making my own hook rig after watching several of your videos last year! It’s helped get the hooks out fast and easy. Love the channel!
I don’t target shark nor want to fish sharks, but here in Hawaii shore fishing for GTs we hook up sharks occasionally. Your videos are legendary for advice bro
I went to the jolly roger pier in one of the Carolinas (cant remember north or south) about 15 years ago and caught and released footlong sandsharks all night until the sun came up. I hand fed seagulls the rest of the shrimp I was using for bait. I was by myself the entire night and was a great opportunity for me to watch the sun rise over the Atlantic ocean. It was a great experience!
Awesome instructional video, thank you. Where can I buy a dehooker like this? I live in the states and don’t have a problem paying the fees to ship it.
@@sharkyshepo8167 I'm in Florida . I do loads of sharking from shore . I cut my hooks with bolt cutters to getitout fast easy and safe. I would absolutely love one of these dehookers . Even the big game loop ended dehookers you see on Amazon all just bend .
The game here is pretty consistent based on the season . We get big great hammerheads in the winter . We have the mako and black tip migrations here yearly aswell . Late summer about all you are going to get is big bulls and nurse sharks . Tiger sharks in the winter and spring aswell . Anyway yeh your dehooker should go up on your merch shop ;p

@@liltimothy8109I am being realistic when I tell you that I use barbless for every species of fish except bass as they tend to get leverage on the jig or lure and throw the hook quite easily. But for all other species there's no difference - except that it's far easier to catch and release when there isn't a barb. Stainless steel hooks can stick in a fishes' mouth for a long time, and cause infection. Sharks have cartilaginous jaws so the hook will penetrate alright. So if you are a competent angler there shouldn't be any problems in bringing them in. With a barbless hook, you can just shunt it out and release the fish easily. With a barb, that process is more difficult. All in all I feel it's a better way to handle an adversary that deserves respect.
Anyone have a dehooker they’ve made that they can sell me??!?! I’m fishing in the gulf & been hooking up every night. I’ve been successful in pulling most of the hooks but I need a nice long dehooking tool to assist with pulling the hooks safely & smoothly. I’ll be fishing the next two weeks & desperately in need of a dehooker tool! Any link to where to buy them would be great too!
I have a irrational fear of sharks!!! It’s easy to become angry with the fisherman, but fishing is inevitable. Therefore awareness and know how and a good soul of a fisherman is what we need to count on. The video below is in regards to how to properly remove a hook when you catch a shark: ua-cam.com/video/WcuSH_Zi8qg/v-deo.html
Just as long as you release them pissed with humans that's the main priority. Do you dangle a leg in front of them too. Give them a whif of your odours as a nasty thing to tell the bros about. If they are in decent population areas you should kill them or just not annoy them in the first place.
Our dehooker works perfectly as the video shows, and the sharks swim off fine, I laugh at people that think the hooks hurt them, wen that mate they nearly bite each other's fins off, a 8mm hook won't do nothing
@@sharkyshepo8167 i didn't say it "Hurts the shark" just saying its a lot easier to release them, file the barb if you would like, or don't file the bard it doesn't bother me, i was simply stating that as someone who has shark fished for many years just like yourself, i like to make the release as easy as possible.
