I haven't had the chance to watch this in its entirety but I have to tell you that I agree with you 110% on that kitchen. This is the first island I've seen without the sink. You have to also worry about spray going over onto the other side, I had a stained glass partition built onto the back of my sink just because of that. I need as much counter space & a large fridge as I love to cook & bake. If I could find this same kitchen (with residential fridge) in an RV with also a 1 & 1/2 bath I'd be in heaven. Love!!!!! P.S. I can't wait to watch the rest.

I really appreciated you showing the RV with the slides in. So many showcase videos do not but I find it so helpful when considering RV's for purchase. Keep up the great work. We love your channel!

We just bought one, it is only slightly used but from an older couple that didn't get to use it as much as they would have liked and took extremely good care of it. I am so excited! This review was fantastic. We are hoping to go pick ours up Saturday and I can't wait! It is a huge step up from the one we have now (2016 Keystone Hideout). I think we are going to be so happy!

I prefer the large window over the overhead cupboards but that is my choice. We see the air conditioner noise as white noise and can drown out the outside noise. I have found that having an outside kitchen comes with sacrifices on the inside one. We have frameless windows and you're right about the lack of air flow from outside.

Check out the Sandpiper 383RBLOK that will be our next rig . I have 3 kids and the Boss (Wife) loves the central vacuum, washer/dryer, and the big one is the 2 bathrooms.

One thing I've learned is I can't get exactly everything I want without giving up another option. Best I've found so far is my 2018 sundance 3700rlb. I wanted 2 bathrooms, king bed, outdoor kitchen, bunkroom, loft, auto level and full size fridge with 2 ac units. Washer dryer hookups and lots of storage everywhere.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on your 100K subs. We wanted the same Chap IBL but ended up going with the Grand Design 367BHS with the king size bed and are very happy. It does not have the sink less island that you're looking for though. As I'm sure you already know there is no floor plan out there that has EVERY feature that we all want. As a long time subscriber to your channel and watching many of your videos, we know you will somehow find what works best for you and the family. Good luck in your search and we look forward to what you finally end up with.

We have a Grand Design 377 MBS-R and love it. Put 10k miles on it last year on a cross country and felt at home. Has 18 cu. ft. Fridge with full size convection mw, big pantry and plenty of counter space.
Mid bunk and loft give a lot of versatility for storage or extra sleeping. Put a 5500W Onan in alsoo

I second the Grand Design 377 mid bunk. Great product. We have been looking at the 373 FB very closely for a few months. Impressed with quality and storage arrangement. The mid bunk area is a nice set-up IN THE 377. Seems that we all have to consider the real life tradeoffs in any RV (BUMMER). Best of luck.

In 2005 we ordered a Cedar Creek 5th wheel one of the options we picked was shock absorbers. The cost was next to nothing. I wouldn't want a 5th wheel that doesn't have the front and rear fiberglass caps. Our new TT has the rear "bike' rack. We haven't gone out yet but I plan on using the bike rack to keep stuff off the ground at the campsite. I may try the generator there if I need to.

@@JasonLee-qj8ts $42,000 exactly not including tax. It did include "set up", doc fees, destination charge, and tariffs.
It also included these upgrades: 6 point auto level, JT strong arms, rear reciever hitch, 2nd A/C unit, 10 c.u. fridge, solid surface countertops, and fireplace.
I think we got a Great deal!

More cubes more power and if the S.H.T.F. (sit) you will need to eat up all of it before it goes south. more caned / dry goods is the way to go!. You really have a very good set up. Just needs about four more upgrades. It's your money. with respect. Cad taste but chev pay.LOL!

All I can say is Good Luck. After owning one you Really like it’s Very hard to find a replacement. We own a Grand Design Salitude front living 2014. We have been looking to upgrade but can’t find anything that is a upgrade. Even looking at a 2019 model of the same 5th wheel seems to be using cheaper materials. It gives you more storage but at the cost of quality materials.

  • @Timothy_Smith
    @Timothy_Smith 6 років тому +2

The Jayco Pinnacle 37MDQS is close to that model in terms of counter space, but not quite. It does have a better bunk room. with a loft.
The 2019 Jayco Eagle is closer, but is missing several of the other features you are looking for as well. We (personally) are very heavily looking at the Eagle 355MBQS for our next model. It has a sofa/bunk option with a loft.
Both of those options have a king option.

For me I also bought a Coachmen, though not a 5th wheel. The Azdel is a nice feature to have. The slam latches are great too. I found the fit and finish and features were nice, no flashy silliness, pure functional and class. We have a 2017 Freedom Express 312BHDS Liberty Edition.

I really like your sofa space now. Its setup well. It looks like a really great 5er. Looking forward to what rigs you consider replacing it with. My wife agrees with you. She would prefer a king bed as well. Our setup has a queen like yours. With two little kiddos that inevitably end up in our bed around midnight it can be tight. I think if i were going to buy one right now i would lean towards the 2018 chaparral 370 fl or the 391qsmb with the king bed option!!
    Great video btbrv!

We have an 2011 Chaparral 330FBH. Nothing but trouble with it. We have a water leak in the main (only in tow) that 3 different service centers have tried to fix. Yours seems really nice, but with all of the issues we've had there is no way we would buy another Chaparral.

Have you thought about a 35’ to 38’ Luxe?
You can get your kitchen custom designed like you want. It’s about the same price as a grand design with a lot more options. Plus you can get a full firefly wiring system that eliminates a ton of wires.

I should have added...... the Solitude 377MBS has an optional King bed, newer Furion cook top, wider microwave, 18cu ft fridge, 6 point level up, 4 tread - solid steps. Everything you want. Also, Grand Design has the best post sales support. For major warranty items you can bypass the dealer and deal direct with Grand Design and they WILL take care of you. They have even made people whole after the warranty has expired. Quite often they will authorize a local mobile tech to complete the work. For anything major (structural, frame), they will come get it from you, haul it back to Indiana, repair and return. Also Emily Stahley formerly of LCI recent moved to Grand Design which also bolsters their customer support. What do I need to do to put you in a 377MBS today !!

I'm currently in a Grand Design Reflection 337RLS. I love the kitchen. The oven is not like the typical easy-bake ovens shown in your video. You would want to check the Reflection 367 or one of the Solitudes if you have the money for a decent drop frame model.

I remember buying some off-brand tires the salesman told were made by Goodyear but they didn't put their name on it. I found out why about 3 weeks later when the tire blew out on me on a rain slick freeway as I slide across 2 lanes. I was lucky that at the moment there were no other cars on either side of me.
After my heart stopped racing, I made a vow then and there that I would never cut corners when it came to tires. That's just my experience, so I'm not trying to speak for anyone else.

Have you considered a toy hauler? I've got a Fuzion 371, perfect convertible guest quarters to dining area to play room with half bath. Morryde equipped. Sailuns standard.
Mine came with a king bed (but takes up a lot room), loft bunk and 6 point leveling system.
    Full size kitchen appliances.
I stayed to a dual axle trailer vs triple as I wanted to stay under 40 feet.
It's a trade off for the convertible garage space to interior living.
Just putting a bug in your ear. ;-)

With all the improvements you have made makes it hard too recover you're money. There as only been one floor plan that had a large kitchen and it was a Keystone Montana 3701LK, we loved it, I want my wife too have a large kitchen for cooking, our current kitchen has very little counter space. But things have change here recently and a new camper doesn't look like it will happen now :-( with all the modifications you have done, and being a Coachman I'd hang on too it for a long time. Don't let all the bells and whistle's of a new unit bite ya.

    • @agent8699
      @agent8699 6 років тому

It is an RV not a stock or real estate. It loses value the second you tow it off the lot. Even without "improvements" They will not add their cost in in value either... they will also lose money. Now if you could claim some notoriety so it had some cachet to it, say Trump had golden shower party in it.... Somebody would probably pay up for it.

The filth wheel of yours looks great I thought of something that could be done to the bike rack that you might like to try, make a flip up rack that bolts or pins to it to where it leans back a lil bit and you could really use it as a clothes line with several lines. I wish there was a way I could draw it for you On the back of my moms we put a tool box that carries a some extra blocks and a jack, waterhose Plus on the sides we built some sections of pipe that we can slide a lil smaller pipe down inside it for the clothes line Anyway I like the island without the sink, I never did like those with the sink Thank you

The new 360IBL got rid of those cabinets above the love seat/theater seats. I was about to buy one, then changed my mind because of the lost storage between those cabinets and the lack of storage around the TV area. There is one open slot above the fireplace now and nothing else. I so much prefer the setup that you have. We should have bought the prior model year. Unless Coachmen goes back to the old setup, we'll probably stay away from the Chaparral.

Open Range has a couple floor plans with a similar sink/counter space set up, but I haven't seen that on any of their bunkhouse models.

Check out big horn traveler 39mb. Has a nice wall of cabinets, not as much counter top, but more by the stove. We loved that the mid bunk has extra windows and doesnt have the little bunk on top, unless you order it.

The granddesign solitude 377mb is close. Sink is in the island but there is still counter space. It has a loft also. Now they have a outside kitchen that slides up in the front storage as a option. I have saw one on a jayco that sits on the back of the camper. The solitude will still need suspension upgrades. The DRV 44 Cumberland and luxe elite mid bunk and luxe gold mid bunk will have the best suspension and frames but they are big heavy and expensive. Neither have a loft or outside kitchen. The rv factory will work with you on some making some things custom.

I agree 100%. The Grand Design 377 is a very nice floorplan. We have considered it as well as the Columbus 37mbb and even the Jayco Eagle midbunk. I like the 2019 Gateway 3900mb as well, but would need to modify the large section of cabinets to be additional counter space.

      @kelleypatterson4396 6 років тому

Not to mention with all of those you will probably have to modify the suspension. Have you checked out the valinos yet? I heard a mid bunk may be coming but that was months ago. I know they can do some custom work. A sales man told me they have put the moryde IS suspension on for customers before. Also are you looking for a brand that comes with 17.5 rims? I know some companies have that as options also.

Check out the Cardinal limited 3780LFLE, it doesn't have all your requests, but as I'm sure you're aware, to get something you have to give up something, I've looked for the perfect 5th wheel and have yet to find one that meets all my requirements. Beyond azdel, full body paint may suit you, as I believe the one we will purchase will be our one and only and I don't want to worry about fading.

I know this is an old video that just came across my feed. I love your channel. Thanks for all your hard work. I know right now you are demoing that beautiful Van Leigh, and the bikes fit inside. But you mentioned the rack on this video with your old Chapperal. I'm a cyclist and I always see people using these bike racks that don't really work. I don't represent Kuat at all. But consider them - www.kuatracks.com/product/nv-addon-2/ The base rack includes two bike holders and options to expand them as needed without having to just buy a whole new rack as you can modify up and down as you need. It also includes a bicycle repair stand as the end piece - because when do you not need that. The support for the bike is in the wheel tracks, not hanging bending the frames. And THEY LOCK each bicycle. We are always concerned with people who make dumb decisions in our travels. Anyway, I love these racks. It might make a good video for you. ;) Anyway just a thought since I saw you describing yours. I see those working better for carrying extra blocky equipment. While I'm here there is a product called VertiYak that is AMAZING. I've seen it but not as familiar. Plan on obtaining. vertiyak.com/

I understand it is not a "mid bunk" but the Cyclone 4005 has a kitchen with tons of counter space, and a "rear bunk" a.k.a. the garage. The 2018 model even has an outside kitchen.

It is hard to recommend any one 5th wheel. We are on our 8th 5ver with a Country Coach Motor Home in betwen, (Stay away from Motorhomes) they are a maintenance nightmares. Since Thor Industries has their fingers in just about all the 5th wheel lines, it's hard to recommend.
First off, STAY FAR, FAR Away from Heartland Landmarks and BIG HORNS. Of course you can purchase one of those as long as you are close to a Walmart or Hardware Store. The Heartland was our first 5er and we spent more time fixing the damned thing than traveling. Of course Heartland is owned by Thor.
Then there is the DRV's. We have had 2 of them, both were good 5ers, but have become EXTREMELY expensive now and they are also owned by THOR!
We now have a 2016 Redwood and it has been somewhat of a nightmare. We have had our Dining Room Slide that was never installed correctly. 3 times back and forth to the dealer. Finally, took the unit to Lippert in Indiana and they adjusted and lubed the slide correctly and made an access point for me to lube the hydraulic Shafts underneath the Belly Pan. We have found that the Slide Toppers are a negative too. After having the Dining Room Slide fixed, I took off the Slide Topper on that side of the RV and now the slide operates flawlessly and quietly.
I am in the process of going to Elkhart this week to have the Morryde IS system with Disc Brakes installed. Looking forward to the new system.
Now, we are mostly happy with the REDWOOD and will probably be our last RV. I am a Morryde Nut and have the Morryde Pin Box and the Step Above and now the IS System. The REDWOOD came with a GVWR of 16500, the new ones have been upped to 17900. Standard wheels were 16inch and I have upgraded to 17.5 Sailun Tires and they are wonderful. We also have the Lippert Level Up system, standard on REDWOOD.
Now, our MSRP was $130,000, we ordered the unit from the factory, so it wasn't a Unit on the Dealer Lot. We closed the deal for $84000.
I would recommend the REDWOOD, even with the problems we have had. We have over 20,000 miles on it so far and it is really coming into it's own.
If you have any questions, please Email me.
One final thought. If you buy from a dealer or order from the factory, insure they put in a re-enforced water line to your Fridge, if you have Ice and Water in the Fridge. Another Headache will be resolved by replacing the CHEAP CHINESE CRAP WATER LINE!
    Thanks,
    Jeff

pin weight alone on 295BHSS which is 35' long is 1350 lbs unloaded. plus the weight of a hitch, gear in the bed of the truck.... probably already over RAWR with nothing in the trailer. Sure it can tow it, stopping it? Gonna break something?... fer sure! Safe? It's not... straight up.
