Great video! That stabilizer is the best one there is, i’ve tried quite a few.

i know this vid is 7 years old... but in case you're still active, did you notice a big difference before and after? recently i've gotten two scary tank slappers on my 2016 which has me looking into these. i never remember getting any on my 2012 back when they came stock with an ohlins.

I had the same issue with the key, but it seems to go in fine with a slight angle initially. I just made sure there isn't any binding while putting it in or turning. Just for peace of mind I may file/shave down a corner of the key. I forgot to mention that in the video thanks for the heads up Volk

I purchased the new GPR V5-S stabilizer for my 2013 ZX6R Ninja 636. I was so excited to install it and start using it. To my surprise it partially blocks access to the key hole, so If you install the stabilizer you can't turn on the motorcycle! I thought maybe GPR send the wrong kit or I did something wrong? I called them and they said that many guys have the issues and the only solution is to buy a new triple clamp for $160!! I'm disappointed. They shouldn't be selling this stabilizer for 636 if it doesn't fit! They wouldn't help me and I was on my own. I'm returning the stabilizer ASAP and getting a OHLINGS stabilizer instead. You can read the comment section on some older 2013 videos and people had problems back then and they still didn't fix it! Their customer support and company as a whole sucks!

    Kaz. I cant lock my
bars either, but didn't bother to grind the key down since I never leave outside or alone for long periods of time.

I decided to grind the key down as I didnt like the amount of force I had to use to get the key out.

Check out the alien in background near bisycle at 6:48. i did a poor mans upgrade and took the stocker and changed the 2.5w fluid to 10w hydraulic fluid. I notice a huge increase in dampening but is still fairly easy to steer at low speeds. Some use 5W because there sissys and can't turn in a parking lot lol. Next summer I might change it to 15W for the warm season due to being a little thicker in cold.

I believe it was $400 shipped. I would say for the peace of mind it was worth it.

I just got my GPR steering damper installed today on my 636. Did you have a problem with the key not fitting? The shop had to grind down the plastic part of my key so I could lock the steering, otherwise I could not pull the key out. It's no big deal but I was wondering if anyone else had that problem.

I feel stupid asking but what do you mean "check the description" to see where you bought the damper from?

Does reusing the washer also pertain to a k6 gsxr 1000?

what about the ignition key of the bike ? i installed my GPR damper today and ignition key touched to the steering damper 's upper left corner. i had to cut the corner of ignition key to run it.

50 ft lbs is a lot of torque. I work on helicopters and the only thing we use foot torque on is the main rotor. You probably meant inch lbs

It's might be, I tighten the lugs on semi rims to 600 foot pounds. 50 seems reasonable for what he's doing. Wouldn't want it coming loose for sure
