I've been watching a load of your videos recently. I've fitted a kitchen in a charity place that didn't have one, running drains and water supplies. Changed my central heating pump for a new silent black Grundfos one. Drained the system after adding cleaner in the Magnaflo. Refilled and added inhibitor. Fitted a RADMAG in the bathroom towel rail. All running lovely! Your vids are great for knowledge and confidence. Thanks mate!
@plumberparts I would like to thankyou for all your content you have created for all of us under average plumbers 😂. I would like to inform you with only your videos I have managed to fit my entire bathroom, my entire kitchen and even when I've had heating issues your videos have always helped hugely. I find your videos serious but with a slight humour so they are brill. Keep up the good work 👏🏿
Rats nor through the flexible plastic waste because it’s particularly translucent so they are intrigued by the light they can see through the pipe (especially when the room itself is bright in sunlight or room lights are on at night. Great video by the way 👍🏼
Hi mate im really fed up, my wife and I had a kitchen fitted a year ago and the plumbing under the sink is shocking. But the problem is I don't know a really good plumber in Sheffield uk who does good old fashioned cooper work. Im fed up with shocking trades people unless you know of anything in Sheffield who's any good. Cheers Love your videos 👍
As always great video - just finished installing one myself this weekend - using your other videos as a guide. Owe you a beer. Do you recommend sealing the bottom and sides of the unit to the deck or just around the toilet and top of the sink?
I’ve got a wall hung Japanese smart toilet with a concealed cistern and remote control. Very complex to fit. My plumber has issues with his family and his van. I’ve already paid him half the money. I had no bathroom for 2 years and no heating for 3 years. Hopefully he can come back soon.
Thanks for taking all this bloody time to upload a full video and a full course! I got a bit lost...what's the concertina white pipe for again? Is it the poo poo pipe?
Another fandabydozzy video, hope all the family is well James Ps There is a supposed reason for the angled side of the formers, but I also live on the wild side like you and ignore them 😉
I prefer to predetermine the size of the silcone bead. So i cut the silicone spout around 1 or 2mm bigger than the tool im gonna use. That way, theres less wasted silcone and less smear problems. Works a treat. As for them w/c cabinet systems.. its great if the wall and floor are square🤔
Great vid ,guttin me bathroom at the minute, been lookin ages for a decent vanity, can you tell me the name and where from of the one you've fitted ,and the concealed cistern...thanks dude
Unrelated have another issue waste pipe coming in is 120mm which I can't find a toilet adapter for so I am thinking of getting a rubber coupler with dublee clips to reduce the size and from the toilet a flexible pan connector will this work?
Great video but I was really interested in how you fixed / joined waste pipe to stack and you did not show it,,bit disappointed any chance you can show how you did that ??
Sorry you’re disappointed. I had no idea whilst I was doing this job that you wanted to see that. They just push in using the rubber veins into the pipe. It’s very simple.
I asked my boss to buy me an xpro rodless sealant gun but he won't pay the price they want, it would be perfect for the jobs I have to do in work with the tight spaces.
Been looking at these myself. Mcalpine state "Independent tests prove conclusively that there is no build-up of sediment in the flex". I was more concerned about the 90 degree bend - can't find an authoritative answer on whether that's ok, if it is, why do they also make these with 90⁰ bends on (WC-CON8F etc)? 🤷♂️
Plumber who fitted our bathroom didn't secure the cistern properly. Over time, the bottom of the cistern swung back and slightly unplugged itself from the ceramic, causing slow leak, making the cabinet blow. I fixed it with a wooden wedge. but, too late, the damage is done. So, I'll be doing myself this time, like I should have done first time!!!
How weird.. ! I fitted one of these units myself a few years ago and encountered this very problem.. ! The pressure of the water entering the back of the toilet via this pipe forced the pipe out causing water to leak everywhere.... my solution was to fix a block of wood to the wall behind the pipe to 'butt' up to the back of the 'L' pipe so that it blocked the pipe from moving back and out of the toilet.
I used to fix them but now most plumbers (myself included) prefer just using the sealant to hold the toilet in position. IMO works fine but the comments section of UA-cam will disagree! 😂
A waterless trap? Different. A bit like a mini AAV then. Or rat flap. Don't like the plastic shank on the fill valve. Give 10 years before it's perished by the copper.

i guess having a 20mm gap down the side of the unit and soilpipe boxing is less preferable than making good a small bit of the boxing that was hacked out (badly).....
It’s not easy to get the boxing out when there’s metal beading in by the plasterer. However I knew this would all be covered up when I finish the wall panels - so in the end will look lovely.
Hmm, don't like flexible wc connectors, after few years they can go brittle as the walls tend to be quite thin and they can split and/or block up as "stuff" can build up in the grooves. Never fitted them when I was a plumber, sorry, just don't like them. And why not just cut the copper pipes down below the basin so its a much neater job, rather than bending those flexi tails! And not screwing the wc to the floor, really?

My favourite part is that gap in the floor between the unit and the shower. Floor fitter had a real eye for detail.
Never mind put a tube of Xpro in that. lol

Gotta love the singing! Watched an old one of yours (9 years ago) singing “I love your smile” yesterday. Quality. 😂
Thank you for taking the time to make/edit and upload the video, I enjoy watching your videos james thank you very much and keep them coming 👍👍👍👍👍👍😉
Absolutely loved this video.. I'm not that confident at DIY but your presentation is inspiring...
Excellent Video, very well presented, please keep em coming.👍👍

The tapered side is for pushing the silicon into the joint. You then use the flat side on a second pass to clean up any leftover. 😊

He's not coming back mate.

Great vid. Can you explain why no silicone on the waste or am I being paranoid / belt & braces?
Surprised you didnt silicone the under of the clicker, always leaks for me when i dont! Great vid

I was going to do this exact job myself but ive got a hernia problem , what kind of price would I be looking at to have this exact job done ?
One short waste FOUR bends unecessary you could have reduced that by 2
How many are you charges for bathroom renovations? Thanks

Is the mistake that you said about just putting silicone on the back of the units to stick it down but still proceeded to put it everywhere?
Hi mate do you have a link to this vanity unit looks ideal for a job I need to attempt at home?
Better bathrooms website have some. Look great. I have 2 of them. One in my main bathroom and other In a downstairs wc.

I’d prefer a rigid soil connection James, don’t those flexible pipes harbour poop 😂

32:20 where did these kinks come from? They looked fine ish just a minute ago
You could see the right one was well kinked before. Still look a bit mangled at the end 🧐 they were getting twisted as he tightened.
