Better to use a cheap pair of transparent swim goggles (the kind speed swimmers wear, not scuba divers). They are air tight so no droplets or aerosols can enter your eyes. Combined with a face mask, this would give you the best and least expensive overall protection. If I had to be in a questionable environment (flight, subway, etc) this would be my go to.
If the gym opens at 6 am, go at 6 am. Fewer people, and people haven't been there hours before possibly coughing and spreading the virus. Disinfect the equipment you will be touching and constantly use hand sanitizer; don't go in the bathroom to wash your hands since the air in the bathroom is very stagnant, and people can cough in the bathroom without covering the cough since there's usually no one looking. Don't go to the gym to do cardio, go outside for a run. Only do activities in the gym that you could not possibly do somewhere else unless you had gym equipment.
My relatives, including their grandparents, kids and grandchildren all got Covid-19 despite staying indoors and never leaving the house. They got it from a delivery guy who coughed. Question.... The virus hangs in the air, so as the biggest danger is many people in a confined space, why isn't it mandatory for airlines to circulate UV sterilized air?...... This would make the environment much safer, not only for covid, but for all the other bugs you tend to get, from airline travel. Costs are minimal, benefits are vast. What happens if you get covid when traveling? Will a hotel let you quarantine for 2 weeks?
In Maldives, resorts have to keep a percent of their rooms for guests to stay in quarantine should there be a need.
