Haven't flown anything but Delta domestically in the past couple of years. It's just the best airline for my frequent routes. I feel fortunate because they seem to be doing the best with emphasizing safety more than any other domestic airline.

Flew MSP-LAS-MSP and got back yesterday. MSP super quiet Thursday night and no wait for TSA precheck. Delta plane seemed very clean and love the middle seat empty. Plenty of room for the hubby and I. The airport at MSP yesterday looked like a normal day. Very busy so it looks like more people are flying.

    • @thriftytraveler

It certainly depends on what day (and time) you go through the airport, but empty seems to be far more normal now.

I'm flying delta to London in a few days and thank you, your video was informative. Its a longer flight (7-8 hours), so I'm going an extra step with a hoodie to cover my hair, face shield, goggles and KN95 mask. I will wipe everything down and will cover my head with a blanket LOL. I was told, it would be a good idea to go straight to the hotel (in my case airbnb), and strip and shower immediately. I plan to do just that LOL. I was promised that with a premium ticket, there should not be anyone sat next to me, BUT when it came to seat selection, Delta didn't block me from sitting next to another seat. Luckiliy, the flight going is still very empty 2 days ahead, but the flight going back (in a month) is rather crowded. I will monitor, and if it becomes a problem, I will ask to switch flights.

We flew to Midwest on a Delta Embraer 190 - masks required - but you really can’t social distance on a plane that size. We return to the air for the first time in 3 days. Looking forward to traveling, but still a bit uneasy. Our choice is Delta. We left AA a few years ago and the service is so much better. Now Delta has proven itself to be a step above compared to AA and U. We even stepped down to Economy from C+, better rates and an open middle seat...win-win. MDT-DTW-MSP-FCA

I flew American Airlines 2 days ago from California to Tennessee and the planes were full...no empty seats. On one of my flights I was seated next to a woman coughing her lungs up (literally) and she told me she just got over Covid....you can imagine my shock and dismay. We did wear masks during the flights, but the planes did not seem to be especially clean, just looked like they have gone back to their normal way of doing things. I usually fly Delta because I think they do more for their customers, even before Covid, but American was the only airline available for the time I needed to travel. The airports seemed to have opened up nearly 100% and I thought it was extremely busy for a Wednesday. I enjoy flying, but I'm a bit concerned at this time. I'll try to NOT fly anytime soon. Hopefully in the Spring when I must fly again things will be much better.
