Exactly! How can I get one of those presses? Also I'm wondering at what temperature the griddle is heated to. I'm looking for a portable table top griddle. I'm thinking a portable flat grill with 1 pound propane might work. But idk if I need to season so it doesn't stick. Can anyone answer my questions?

Just got our tortilla press and can’t wait to make some breakfast tacos! What kind of potatoes did you use? Obviously diced but were they cooked already? Working on my breakfast potato game! Thanks Chud love your videos!
Sometimes you discover genius on the internet! I’d love one of your pita press/grill plates, but I live in Canada the shipping costs would be ridiculous. So, I did the next best thing. I took my cast iron pita press that I never use because it sucked for traditionally making pitas/tortillas, ground the faces smooth, and seasoned the crap out of them on the gas grill. I made this recipe, slapped the pita press on the gas grill, and in no time, I had soft, supple awesome tortillas! Love this channel!
That was really well done from start to finish. The tortilla press over the burner is a fantastic idea and the Margarita recipe capped it off perfectly. Thanks man.
I've just made these tortillas for the first time today. Unfortunately I don't have a Chud Press but I do have a Breville panini press which worked perfectly, even managed to get the tortilla squeal 😂
What actually happened to cockburn?.. this is the first video I seen him and I started following chuds back in '21 or something like that... Ive seen since then a couple of hundreds of your videos but never saw him back😮..
Yo! Big fan. I would like to see how your press holds up on fresh corn tortillas. I think it’ll be a pretty cool experiment especially with your beef fat. Just a suggestion. For science. Ha! Big ups from Chicago, my dude.
Making these for the 4th time. I’m using just 10g less water and 15g less tallow. The first tallow I bought was superior to the one I have now, so I’ll get the first one again (can’t remember the name). These are great. A tortilla press is Paramount for this. Parchment and Tortilla Press has upped the game for sure. Thanks for the great videos, I’ll be trying the Jerk Chicken recipe/method next!
First time making tortillas. Tried making these tonight and used all the same ingredients measured out. The dough was a little wet so I did add some flour until it was not so tacky. I didn't have a press so I used a cast iron pan and wax paper to flatten them out. They were fairly tin but thickened up like a pancake when I cooked them. After I made the 50 g dough balls, I did let them rest for about 15 min. Was that not long enough? How do you get them to remain thin?
I'm snow bound and out of tortillas. Might have to give this a try today. Also, what are the details on that press? I cook mine on a 3/16" steel plate on my electric stove. How hot are you getting that plate? I noticed you had a infrared thermometer on the table.
Just made the tortillas with 60:40 shortening-salted butter mix. You have a full proof recipe here! Cheers and thank you. Oh, and hell yeah I made the margarita too!
I would like to see more Woody and the snake in his boot! Maybe you could through a rattlesnake in the smoker instead of your or Woody’ boot. You think you could give that a try! Just saying.
Well shit, I have a bottle of tequila, I’ll get a little bottle of secsecsec and some limes, then make some boozy drinks and drink them alone in the dark because I’m a lonely lonely man.
I roll my tortillas by hand so I STRONGLY prefer AP flour. You have an awesome BEASTLY tortilla press that manhandles the flour in a wicked cool way mind you, but those of us with rolling pins would have biatch of a time trying to roll them out with bread flour. They just end up shrinking back to the same size. I've accidentally used bread flour once or twice. It's a pain. I also use a dry griddle because that's what my mom and most other folks I know to do. The fat on the griddle fundamentally changes the flavor of the tortilla. That's just a preference, but I'd hit your tortillas in a NEW YORK SECOND. You're great man! I'm upset I only recently found your channel. Keep it coming!
As I was making this dough at 12:30 a.m. I realized I didn't have bread flour. I had All Purpose, Self Rising, and Whole Wheat... So I used the AP. Loaded all that into my stand mixer and let it hammer away for two minutes to knead the dough. Then check the dough consistency and it felt way to wet and tacky. I started adding flour and felt like I needed about 3 to 3.5 tablespoons more all purpose flour... That was until I heard the plop of you dropping the dough on the cutting board at 4:34
I'm from New Jersey A few years ago; I did some work at Texas A+M There was a dinner at the church I was working at My first taste of Texas style brisket I came home and bought a big grill (not a smoker); and made my first brisket I have a smoker now and smoke something almost every weekend People: visit Texas; change your life
Wow these look delicious! Ok was searching for tortilla press reviews and came across this channel first time..since I can't get the one you made, what's the best-I-can-do brand cast iron tortilla press? May as well go for the 10 inch one for bigger tortillas if needed. I don't have gas, just electric stove but at some point would use it on gas stove or grill too.
I made it just like the recipe, but they turned out crunchy (tried all sorts of cooking variations including heating my cast-iron tortilla press). Any ideas?
I'm certain that most of the people who viewed this video would love to see how you made that tortilla press or perhaps buy one from you. Seriously you could sell that sucker for like 100+ bucks!
Can anyone give tips on achieving that level of dough smoothness? I'm using all purpose flour and kneeding by hand as opposed to his bread flour and fprocessor. Thank you in advance.
I live in deep south Texas (Rio Grande Valley), and most recipes down here use pork lard instead of beef fat, so you're pretty spot on and using a better fat in my opinion. Maybe my only gripe is we press and cook tortillas when it's time to serve for maximum freshness. We don't press and cook tortillas and store them for future use. They acquire that notorious cardboard flavor that way.
There actually are many tortilla presses for the home kitchen that cook while you press. Salton makes them with nonstick coatings or you can buy seasoned cast iron presses from the local flea market.
As a fellow Mexican I approve this tortilla. Also need one of those tortilla presses.
Also congrats on 10k! This channel definitely deserves it.

I second this. I can weld and I can cook, but I still watch these videos because they're entertaining. Bradley could mix concrete and I'd watch.
Looks awesome: probably would make for an amazing smoked beef cheek taco! How about showing us how to do cheeks?

Brad - what temp should the chud press be at for pressing out the tortillas? Any oil? How long do you typically press for? Asking for a friend
My tortillas will not puff. I am using your recipe, 300 temp, and a press built close to your design. Any ideas?
