As one who only started playing lap steel a few years ago when I retired I envy your talent, Mike. That was beautifully played and the sound was that sweet Hawaiian sound that first attracted me to the lap steel. I still can't master harmonics. I loved that in this song. Best wishes from down under.
Thank you John. I have not played Lap Steel that long myself and I find I am frustrated with my playing at times also. But it is fun and I am enjoying the journey. The real secret with harmonics is to play as lightly as possible. Never easy to do under pressure!
I soooooo love this sound, but wouldn’t have a clue as to how to start making it myself!! I remain in envy of your talent Mike. Thanks for continuing to share matey! Regards, Dave
Beautifull how you make such a sound, with tree instruments. Do you record the ukeleles whith a microphone or with a contact pickup? With the modern technologies i think home recordings can sound almost as good as studio recordings. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your kind comments Jean. The Ukulele is recorded with a condenser mic into the computer. All audio is balanced within a program called Reaper.
@@MikeHollandGuitar Well it sure sounds very good and ballanced. I use Ardour on Linux, and i just bought myself a tenor Uke, but the aNueNue that you play are a bit too pricy for me as a beginner uke player. I am wandering Michael, you as a fine multi instrumentalist, have you ever considered a version of Manha de Carnaval? A version of Jose Feliciano that i have tried to play along on guitar when i was young, but never succeeded because of way too difficult :=). The chords of that song are beautifull. God Bless You.
@@germona Thank you Jean.....I love Bossa Nova and all types of Latin, Spanish and South American music! Therefore Manha de Carnaval definitely on the list. I played this on a 2nd hand uke that cost $100. ua-cam.com/video/wgsL-WNZSFI/v-deo.html
@@MikeHollandGuitar Oh yes, that was a great performance of Asturias. I also bought the Uke after hearing your backing tunes with the ukelele to accompanion the labsteel guitar. Glad to hear that you consider Manha de Carnaval. Maybe the lapsteel can have a small place in that version :=)
