Sadly the Shooting Brake never makes it to North America. A big SUV with a loud engine is considered the better choice. So sad.

Ehm, there are two rivals at least: Audi RS6 Panamera Sport Tourismo (although of course not in 2013). Excellent history lesson though.
Especially thanks for highlighting more "sensible" options than SUV which weigh 500kg more, need more hydraulics than the space station to not end up on its roof, and offer less interior space. Estates rule.

Now the most powerful CLS is the CLS53 AMG.

Which is a shame really… V8 biturbo 5.5 litre was amazing. I love this car, it’s shape and the fact it’s a shooting brake!

I'm no expert - but i was always told, "3 doors = shooting brake, 5 doors = estate car". So, yer Merc is an estate car or station wagon in the USA. For shooting brake think Vauxhall Magnum.
