    this is just over emphasizing specificity ,look at most actual pro footballers, rugby player, basketball player etc, train plyos and train specifically but dont ignore basic strength training, its all about timing and priotization.

    this guy is just talking out his backside , as footballer /athelte u should lift weights just dont do to much light weight wioth moederate reps for explosiveness is more than enough and also ur gym sessions dont have to be 2hours long all u need is 30 minutes yes thats even in offseason
