      I'm Hungarian and here we all know about that paprika-fact since 5th grade but only because who "discovered" vitamin C (even got the Nobel-prize for that) was a Hungarian biochemist, Albert Szent-Györgyi. He made his research also with paprika. ^^

    A tip: the water you use for rinsing the lentils and sterilizing the jars you could use it to water your plants instead of wasting it :)

    One tip to eat more iron: When you're making rice, swap out a third or half of the rice with brown or green lentils and cook them together. No effort but adds some more protein, nutrients and variety to your meals!

      I do that, however, I don't cook rice but farro. I love the chewy, nutty texture and taste. I also add quinoa at times. Makes a great hearty grain combo.

      @@sandat8480 i think kushari will be delicious with any recipe because it's the same ingredient but, if you like spicy food you can hot sauce and make sure to squeeze some lemon!! And if you are adding the onions make them crispy ✨✨

    i love how these healthy nutrition hacks are only suggestions and are all about what to add to your diet instead of “no processed food bc it has too much sodium” or “you have to eat more leafy greens bc you’re not getting enough iron”

      Industrialized agriculture has made many old traditions unknown. I even brought whole wheat bread to school when I was a kid (in the US) and people thought it was weird lol....

    Didn’t know vitamin C helped absorb iron it reminds me of how black pepper helps absorb turmeric i wonder what other combos are out there...i did know about brazilian nuts being the best source for selenium but didn’t know it just takes one or two nuts wow!!! Also epsom salt baths is a great source of magnesium! Keep sharing tips and bam 💥 lol thx!

    for sprouting the easy way : tie them up in a piece of cloth and hang it over the sink. keep sprinkling water whenever you use the faucet. that's how we indians do mostly.

    The water drained every time into the sink can be used for watering plants.

      That's actually not a good idea. Most of the time, this water contains worm, microbes and insects that can harm the plants...

      @@RosesAndIvy it is actually a mixture of all the things that I have stated above but in a very less difused form. The logic is simple. You won't drink the water that is coming out of a water filter right. The contamination is simply high!!

    1:51 so true! We measured vitamin C in different vegetables and fruits in biochemistry lab.. turns out green bell pepper and cabbage had the highest amount of vitamin C!!

    I love this! (Also: nuts are magical, I try having a handful of walnuts/pistachios before bed! Walnuts and pistachios in addition to their natural omegas also contain melatonin;the sleep hormone!)

    In Belgium the government decided that iodine should be added to bread, because everybody had this deficiency. So if you by bread in the store, you got your iodine

      They did that in India by adding iodine in the salt in the 80s.
