Turrets consume 10 power and can't be chained like ceiling lights. This means that a small battery can only power 1, medium can power 4 (electrical branches consume 1 unit), and large can power 9. You could also do a batteryless setup (remember, batteries destroy 20% of incoming electricity, so 100 unit input becomes 80 units output) where you have 2-4 wind turbines combined into a single line, and they would provide around 240 units of electricity; you can then connect this to electrical branches and the branches to the turrets; the remaining electricity at the end can be used to power ceiling lights and electrical heaters (remember, if you are in a desert, connect the line to a blocker [which is connected to a solar panel] before going into the heaters, this will ensure that the heaters only turn on if the solar panel outputs 0 units, aka at night). Also, I usually use 2 solar panels for each turret instead of one, because 1 usually can't sustain a turret 24/7, especially if your base blocks its line of sight to the sun. The main advantage of pythons is that they are cheap, but you should know that turrets literally have aimbot, so any automatic weapon lying around (there are usually a few thompsons and customs in the gun box that nobody uses) is great for turrets. Attachments don't do anything, except the flashlight. Turrets shouldn't be place outside at all, because it makes you an asshole to shoot random naked; and those random naked can use a compound bow to break your turrets easily. Either place them behind doors with heartbeat sensor, or on your roof if you have a skirt that protects them. If you place them inside your compound, place them near the wall looking towards your base, and not near your base looking outwards. They can also be placed indoors to protect jump-ups (it takes an incredibly long time to clear them, because raiders only have a split second to shoot an incind or hv at them, and they will die with each attempt).
Hi Jfarr , I am personally thankful to your vids , I started rust recently and I try to master one monument each wipe so whenever I visit a new monument I literally start your video on my phone , Launch Site was a maze for me , thanks to you man 👍👍👍Keep up goo work .I really hope you get big soon . Anyways you have loyal bro here 😁. Cheers 🥂
Thanks man for all the videos. You have a great voice and your videos are the perfect length, clear and concise as well. These are my go to when learning about something new
Jfarr, you are by far and away the best Rust UA-camr. - Your concise, well scripted, edited and informative content is amazing. You have taught me how to play this game, I met my wife on a server last year, but I wouldn't have done that if you hadn't taught me the monuments, electrics, farming and more. Thank you so much, truly you deserve more subscribers. I now point every player I meet to watch your videos if they need to learn a particular aspect of rust.
@Jfarr thank you for the video! I have one question @ 7:23 it looks like you're at the north side of the map placing the solar panel north or maybe i'm missing something? A bit confused here lol would appreciate some clarification thanks again xD
man this was so helpfull i just unlocked auto turret and had the supplies to make one. ''oh this is not that hard place panel connect it and ''gg ez'' but fking hell its just like redstone all over again xD ( atleast a bit more simple ) still could not figure out how i could connect 2 solar panels but this helped me alot
Great tutorial, thank you. Would you have explanations on the usefulness of the various connections of the turret? What are they for? Super tuto, merci. Aurais-tu des explications sur l'utilité des différents branchements de la tourelle? A quoi servent-ils?
Power In is where you want to put the connection for power Has Target-when connected to an alarm for examle, the alarm turns on when smeone is targeted by the turret Low ammo-if connected to an alarm, the alarm will turn on when the ammo in the turret is low No ammo-if connected to an alarm, the alarm will turn on whn there is no ammo in the turret Hope this helps!
Hey Jfarr, I'm sure this might be difficult or impossible, but do you think you could make a video about trying to figure out if a base is worth raiding or not? Since it would be a good way to find bases and not waste so much sulfer
I was hoping to get an explanation to the other sockets that say "no ammo" (or if it's empty ammo), and something with "has enemy" or something and a third I forgot what it says. What are they for? Thanks for otherwise a great video, nice idea with the extra batteries hooked up to the medium one!
@@JfarrYT I did. Me and my teammate set a goal for each wipe (living in snow, make a farm, make a compound etc.) and for this wipe we decided to make a small base and just grind to the auto turret and place a bunch around our base, this guide is gonna help us achieve it :D
Hey Jfarr, this morning I woke up and there was a ladder on my base and my turrets were gone. My TC was fine... Can an enemy pick up a turret? Does it need power? Thanks

tried intermediate way but my turret keeps turning off and on I have 2 solar panels setup on roof connected to root to battery through to switch and finally branch using the branch out to turret...i suck at setting up electricity
Cheers Paput and I currently don't have any rust gameplay footage lined up due to time constraints. However, if I do get the chance to play a wipe I will attempt to get some footage.
Hey bro, so new to electric on rust. On turrets there's an additional three outputs. Ones low ammo or target and low health? I think. . But my question is what do those mean.
If you are referring to an auto turret guide for console, I have an old auto turret guide on my channel which might still apply to the current console edition. If you are referring to a general guide for console players, I unfortunately won't be able to, as I don't have a console to test/record on. However, most of my older guide videos (from 4+ years ago) should apply to the current console edition.
The turrets have additional output nodes such as 'Has target', 'low ammo', 'no ammo'. I did 11 power because if you want to one of the output nodes on the turret, they will take an additional 1 power. So 11 power gives you enough to use an output node if you want.
Tbh i was always lazy to build auto turrents cause i always think it is trobulesome....but this video make me understand that it ist that hard And jafarr voice sound more dry than usual....something is not right
love the videos but i feel like you missed alot of things in this video aswell as making it very complicated. set up a windmill-place a large battery and connect then. a normal switch connected to the battery and then the switch to a splitter. ( add another splitter connected to the first splitter for an extra two power slots for a total of 5 turret outputs on one large battery. The wind turbine will power the turrets forever and will need no charging as the turbine creates more power than being used. simple
Definitely is a viable solution and maybe I should have included that within one of the setups. I just wanted to show the cheapest way (wind turbine, medium battery, small batteries) someone can build a system that can be decoupled from their main power grid, in case raiders target the wind turbine or destroy the main battery. But I agree if you have access to a large battery you likely won't need to do any of that since it will continue to run your turrets for quite a while if your power sources are destroyed.
Us console players are pulling our hair out with this. I got a medium recharge battery n solars but im not gaining energy :( so gonna have to do turbine
Rust devs should hire you for making such clean tutorials that could almost be recognized as something official.
Thank you Chris and I will be waiting for that offering :)

This does appear to be accurate
Hi Jfar, why did you branch out 11 power at 8:30 when AT uses only 10?
the branches/timers/switches use 1 power per component they have to be accounted for in the overall branch out
@@hotdogbrah no, not in that setup, he directly puts the branched out wire onto the turret! 10 energy is required, not 11.
The turrets have additional output nodes such as 'Has target', 'low ammo', 'no ammo'. I did 11 power because if you want to one of the output nodes on the turret, they will take an additional 1 power. So 11 power gives you enough to use an output node if you want.
