We finally did it! We went to SAMS CLUB! Dallin and I are HUGE Costco super fans and do shopping vlogs there ALL THE TIME! Well today we're putting our loyalties to the test and shopping at SAMS CLUB! What do you think??? What's your favorite? Did we buy any of your favorites?
I spend 40+ hours a week at Sams as an employee watching people shop and now I’m at home on my day off doing the same thing. Wtf am I doing

Never seen your channel before, but as a SAMS Club manager for over 7 years now it made me feel really good watching you all enjoy the club. Don’t leave out that our memberships are much cheaper, we open earlier everyday and we are open later on Saturday.
Don't forget the Costco treats their employees better.

I have orientation on 7 there I had my interview yesterday got hired on the spot I had 5 years of retail experience
I have to vote for Sam's. I tried Costco and found the variety was lacking in foods that I know and love. Another thing I like is that you can scan your items as you shop and pay for them through the phone app. You can head straight to the front door and bypass the people standing in the register line.
I have both Costco & Sams memberships and I love both, however, in Costco I feel like someone may run over me, because Its a much more fast paced shopping trip. Where Sams is more relaxed and not as packed.

I have both memberships too and costco has way way tastier and bigger pizza slices by me. Sam's club has a lot louder customers, but this is in Merrillville, Indiana.
I have pizza at Sams usually twice a week. Usually it's very good... but once in a while not great. They are best when it's busy and they bring out fresh ones.

Me too. I love using the app to check out it's so convenient. One of the reasons I shop at Sam's more is because I dread the Costco checkout lines. =-/
Sam's self-checkout and scan and go is designed to eventually eradicate cashier jobs. Many customers refuse to use them for that reason. There are different items per store because of contract agreements with certain companies. Costco is like Aldi. They don't go overboard with trying to sell you 100 different products per week to keep your attention. You go back because they're reliably consistent in the few great merchandise they provide and there's less risk of poor ratings and quality of service or product management.

Costco all the way. Sam's club closed in my hometown without any warning. The employees showed up to a locked building and were left without jobs. It also caused a lot of local restaurants and businesses to have to temporarily shut down. So the city wrote to Costco and they bought and took over the old Sam's club building, and hired most of the same workers.
Uh huh. Sure. It caused a lot of local restaurants to shut down? Why? This sounds to me like you are just making this up. Restaurants and businesses would simply get supplies from Cisco and other wholesale suppliers. In my area, we have a Sams Club only (no Costco) and many restaurants and businesses still don't use Sams Club as it's too expensive as retail supply - they need wholesale.
@@SirenaSpades A lot of small businesses and restaurants go to Costco and Sam's club to get their supplies and stuff for resale. For example: many small convenience stores purchase tobacco from Costco; small restaurants purchase pastic utensils, bake goods, napkins, and etc; businesses purchase pens, sharpies, copy papers, coffee cups, and etc.
I've heard stories about Walmart/Sam's shutting their doors down without giving their employees a heads up. Those employees lost their job. I personally can never support Walmart even though they have nicer equipments than Costco (Costco's equipments look like they are from the 80's). They are the #1 retailer but yet, don't treat their employees with respect. How about start with higher wage and better benefits? Happy employees = Happy customers = more $$$.

Ok I work at Sam's club. The plus membership which is the more expensive of the two memberships earns you cash back based on your shopping habits. Also with the plus membership, you get free shipping on most things when you order online and have it sent to your home.
I miss working at Sams. We had amazing management at our club. We were actually one of the test markets for the coupons that rolled out with the plus membership in 2009.
Don't forget your optical and pharmacy discounts, and the early shopping hours.

Sams club is LIFE. I could live there, my husband and I have dates at sample hour and then go a get a berry froyo sundae after if we have room 😂 we make the most of our membership

I live in Canada and have a Costco card, which I use maybe every 3 or 4 months. It is a mile away.
I live near the border and also have a Sam's card. I go there every 2 weeks.
I love the variety, the self check out and the Key Lime Pie.
I also buy the 8 cupcakes for $7.98. Where else can you find beautifully decorated and tasty cakes for that price.
I freeze them and they taste like they were just made when they are defrosted.
Also pjs, men's shoes and ladies tops.
Can't say enough about why I like shopping at Sams.

I have both memberships and I've noticed here in Oklahoma a lot of Sam's items are cheaper than Costco. Also, Sam's is more shopper-friendly with the scan and go app. They both have a lot of things the other doesn't have so I feel they both are worth having. Sam's is by far less stressful and I feel like I can get in and out of the store way faster than Costco so for me, that is a huge win.
I have both memberships also...Costco Executive for almost 13 years and Samsclub Plus for 17 years...I love them both for different reasons...Granted I have yet to pay for the memberships in either one because of their cashback bonuses.

The Nacho Cheese at Sam's Club is A-Mazing! Plus the entire container is like the same price as Nachos at a sports arena.
Idk how it is in the mainland but here in hawaii, Sam's meat Dept cuts your meat to your liking. Also, our food court is bomb! We got rotisserie chicken plate lunch (2 scoop rice, half a chicken and a scoop mac salad), kalua pig plate lunch, churro, pretzels, cheese bread, chili dog, icee floats. All within budget!

I really feel like the prices at sams club vary more than the Costco prices. For example in my area we have three towns with both sams clubs and costco, the prices at the different Costco locations are usually the same but at the same clubs the prices on different items are not always the same as the other stores

We have had a Sam’s Club Membership for years. You can share membership & each pay half. I did this with my friend as “family” for many years. My husband & I are now retired, so don’t need huge amounts. We actually buy very little. My husband just bought Michelin tires @ Sam’s good deal. He likes the hot dogs. We only go a few times a year. The new Costco is intriguing, but farther & much more expensive to join. Jeanne

Might be different where you live idk. But here Costco is $60 and sam’s is $40 for a basic membership. I realize I over exaggerated on it being half the price now but there is a pretty significant difference.
Costco wastes your time by reshuffling the pallets as much as they can forcing you to hike the whole store (to sucker you into more impulse buys), notice how the aisles are not signed, and making you wait through slow-ass checkouts. Sam's Club values your time . You can go in, find and get what you need, and get out, in 30 minutes or less. My time is valuable to me. Thank you for posting this video -- if you're weary of the not-so-fun Costco experience there is an alternative. It's too bad Sam's Club didn't survive in Canada, where Costco really does act like an arrogant monopoly.
I'm a Sam's Club member and I've never been in a Costco even though I would like to visit to compare. The problem is the store here doesn't allow you to go through the store to see if you want a membership, they make you buy a membership first! I'm sorry, but that is unacceptable. Love your channel!

I was turned away from the East Peoria Illinois store for the exact reason I stated above after speaking to a person at the membership desk having been invited to go there by a person greeting at the entrance that day. Maybe things have changed, maybe it was a temporary circumstance as it was extremely busy that day, but it did indeed happen and it soured my opinion of the chain.

We have had a Sams club in the area for years and only got a Costco last Fall. I had heard so many good things I got a membership to Costco while keeping my Sams one as well. I do like the fruit, portion sealed fresh meat, and some of the healthier options like organics at Costco, but Sams continues to get our paper plates and towels, TP, chips (they have the ones with ridges and our Costco does not :)) eggs, milk cheese and diapers though, from a cost perspective. I did buy a Traeger grill last week at Costco though, Shh don't tell my wife.

This is hilarious because I use to work at Sam's Club for a while and there really is an "atmosphere" to all of it. There is a large community of bulk shoppers and business owners who really do commit to the stores they shop at. Some swear by them, some come every single day just to hangout there, some hate the stores but still come back. We would have customers hand us their BJ's or Costco cards, sometimes on purpose as a joke, sometimes by accident. We would joke not to mention the other store's names. And if a customer was mad for any reason over Sam's Club (which would happen a lot), they would threaten to go to Costco or BJ's! I really loved working there. I enjoyed the employees and the customers, even though I would honestly say out of all of the places I have worked at, Sam's Club shoppers are the most entitled shoppers I have ever met. Even so, I still loved being around them! It was most of the time a really fun place. The lingo, the membership benefits, the instant savings, like I said it really is an atmosphere.

Also, Members Mark and Daily Chef are both Sam's club brands. Walmart has a generic called Sam's Choice. And members mark water is so cheap that they do not even profit from it, they just keep it because it is a staple for most customers!! And it really is.... the water aisle there can be so scary....
Me and my wife just had the exact same reaction as y'all when we went to Sam's for the first time last week. We just moved and we live super close to Sam's now. We are lifelong executive Costco members but we were truly surprised by how amazing the food selection is at Sam's. Try the garlic butter. *Cough Cough*We bought a Sam's Club membership don't tell Costco lol.

@@dalemoore1308 Costco refuses to make more than a 15% profit from anything they sell, they treat their employees MUCH better (better pay, full benefits, etc.), the CEO's salary is WAY less, their commitment to sustainability is top notch, and their Code of Ethics is remarkable

You guys are hilarious! I just sub'd. Near my house we only have Sam's Club. Costco is a 40 minute drive. We are hoping for a Costco soon. Heard so many good things. I love Sam's Club clothing, funny to say, but their shorts, pants and hoodies are good quality and some name brands.
You guys should definitely get the membership. Next time you go, instead of getting pizza, try a salted pretzel and frozen yogurt. Absolutely to die for.
I've worked at Sam's, usually the cashier will unload and load your cart for you which is a huge plus, they also scan your receipt and one item in your cart.

Our Aldi's just recently raised lots of prices....example: Loaf of bread from 85c to $1.45...Hope this isn't the first sign of the apocalypse......Fresh and Easy did the same thing and shortly after closed all their stores....

My wife and I are Sam's members. Costco is too far away from our house. I wouldn't mind a Costco membership, but don't want to drive 30 minutes each way every time we go shopping. I will say that Sam's used to have pretty decent pizza with flavorful ingredients and sauce. I'm not sure when, but they changed something. The pizza just isn't that good anymore. I do enjoy their quarter pound hot dogs though. Excellent price and a serious dog. No wimpy dogs for me.
Finally, I would comment (like others) that the Scan and Go app is generally awesome, but with two annoyances. First, sometimes the app just craps out before you can check out. Second, there are restricted items that you can't scan. Some I can think of are tobacco, certain medications and alcohol. If you are buying any of those things, don't bother with the app because you will be standing in line to checkout, like it or not.
I have had a Sams Club membership since 1991, and also bought a Costco membership when they opened their first store in my area in 2011. I love them both and shop both regularly. They are similar stores as far as what they do, but they have different product selections. Sometimes I find what I want at Costco, other times at Sams.

I am 78, my dad`s father was 96 when he died, my dad`s brothers and sisters were in mid 90s. they grew up eating bacon and eggs because they raised hogs to eat and chickens for eggs. a few years back they told you eggs were very bad for you. now they are good for you. we knew all along they were healthy. eat all that other for a shorter life span.

I have the Sam's Club membership and my brother has the Costco Membership so we get the best of both worlds.
Recently during the toilet paper outage and the paper towel outage , I got lucky and bought both branded with Member’s Mark and the quality is amazing. Three weeks later and we’re still using the original packs, we are a family of five. I am really happy about that purchase. And no lines open , no problem . I just scan and go.
We used to have both, now we just have Sams. It is the scan and go app and the Online ordering with pick-up that put Sams over the top for us. Shopping day is so much faster now.
I have both Sam's club is more comfort food. Costco is the healthy version's. Both have great customer service, but Sam's is a little better. Costco has more samples.

We have both Sam's Club and Costco memberships. Costco is better but Sam's is in our town and Costco is a 45 minute drive. We took a cross country road trip last month and we bought all of our gas at Costcos along the way and had many of our lunches there too. Saved us big bucks. Yes!! Get it on Groupon ! You get the rotisserie chicken..a pizza...and a VUDU coupon I think 🤔. I love Sam’s Club sooo much!!! And...you can use Scan and Go!
Groupon has discounted memberships for both Costco and Sams club. We have alternated memberships every 2-3 years! With the freebies they throw in, its almost like joining for free!

I say yes to a membership. You can pick and choose which store you go to for your needs just like one does when they go to Smith’s or Harmon’s. Both have great options.

The best thing I love Sam's over Costco is the Scan n go when I'm in a hurry.
If I go to Costco it's easy to lose track and go off budget. But at Sam's you do Scan N Go when you reach your limit you stop.

Well, I consider a lot of the stuff they sell at costco junk food. I think costco just sells "higher end" junk food that most people dont think is junk food, but I think they are both the same.

The pizza with red peppers, green peppers, onion, mushrooms, black olives, Italian sausage and pepperoni is to die for. Just tell them you want the everything or loaded pizza. I love this one.
Costco treats their employees like assets compared to the Walmart, Sams club philosophy. The only reason I need to shop at Costco.
Costco disrespects their customers, which is why I wish we still had Sam's Club in Canada.
I used to have both memberships but we rarely went to Costco. Costco only accepts Visa branded debit and credit cards as well as cash and checks. Sams club has Members Marks label but they are really brand name products. IE: Large container of mixed nuts is really from Planters brand but labeled as Members Mark as per management. Sams club has a lot more products that we use. Although Sams club is very busy and has many locations in Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, Mo, Costco is insanely packed with people every time we have shopped there which I do not like. My vote goes to Sams Club.
