I did this musical a few years ago and played Bert Healy. This was my favorite musical back then, and I loved the song "Tomorrow" and I always sang it.

I love the Annie's who have strong voices, like Andrea and Joanna pacitti ( sorry if I spelled her last name wrong!) They are just Annie to me. I wish that they wouldn't have fired Joanna cause she was excellent.
That is exactly how I feel. I don’t care if she comes off as vulnerable or strong or whether she can dance or act very well. All I care about is that belting voice.... that’s where they went wrong with the true Annie lovers like us.
TRUE SOMETIMES YOU WONDER WHY PRODUCERS OF THIS SHOW DID NOT THINK TO DO SUCH SIMPLE THINGS LIKE KEEP A RECORDING OF THIS CAST AS IT WAS THE BEST. PLUS REMEMBER CELL PHONES AND DVD'S DID NOT EXIST YET. WE ALL FORGET THINGS WE NOW HAVE AT ONE TIME WAS NOT HERE.
Wow, I am reminded yet again of why I love theatre, and Annie, and songs, to make it short: of music. This is just too perfect, if there's such a thing.
Thanks for mentioning Laurie Beechman, far too many people forget about her role in this musical besides all the other great works she performed in over the years..
Vodka thanks for uploading this. My Aunt Dottie was Mike Douglas's liaison and I met Andrea Mcardle when Mike had her on his show. Andrea was the first and in my mind the only Annie so sad when you get older you have to be replaced in roles that require age. Recently I met Andrea in California after all these years and while we were talking for a half hour it was hard to fathom that she's 59 but the face and eyes were and always will be The only Annie.
@@tomorrowmorning8360 I'm very private for my safety. I know more people than I can clearly count. I'd never share whom I know as that is completely ill manored as well as sheer showing of. ZEN I certainly wasn’t asking you to sacrifice your privacy or anything or reveal your name. I was just curious if you were, say, one of the Warbuck’s staff, or possibly a Hooverville singer (guessing not one of the orphans as many of them have social media accounts and have done interviews therefore not hiding). Wasn’t pressuring you to sacrifice privacy. When I asked if you “knew” Andrea I was just wondering if you had memories of the production. Anyway it’s not a big deal. I noticed you have a lot of rock references in your profile which is fun... from Broadway to Rock
1970s girls were special. You see it in Jodie Foster and Kim Richards and in these kids. There was just something there. Amazing, fun time to be a little girl.
They fired Joanna Pacitti, saying that she looked like she was getting too old for the role and that they didn't want to give a "Lolita" impression. But Andrea here looks older and more mature physically than Joanna did when she was hired.
i know i've seen it for sale on ioffer.com it's a great resource for old weird rare variety shows and all kinds of wonderful specials. check there. i am weary to upload the whole thing because of copyright issues. i'll have to check youtubes policy's. it may be an instance where they let you keep it up but put an ad in front of it?? i'll look.
Danielle Brisebois was 7, Janine Ruane (blonde) and Donna Graham (brown mullet) were 13, Robyn Finn (shoulder-length hair) was 14, Diana Barrows (braids) was 11 and Shelley Bruce (long pigtails) was 10. Shelley became Annie after Andrea McArdle outgrew the role.
I think the kid casts started trending younger as time went on, but I also think this kind of old video footage, the aspect ratio, as well as the angles they’re being filmed from exaggerates their size a bit.

Dorothy Loudon OWNED this role. She was one of a kind!!
This cast of kids was never duplicated.
Agreed. They left big shoes to fill when they left the show.

Laurie Beech man was a force of nature. She completed her last album in A couple of days when dying of ovarian cancer.

The best vocal of Annie
Had the 33 RPM Record from The Broadway Play with Andrea Mcardle and loved her also in Rainbow as the young Judy Garland in 1978!
The original cast was so great! Thanks so much for sharing this!

You know who is noticeably missing? Lily St. Regis... from both Easy Street and the final Tomorrow with the entire cast. Strange.
it's from the Annie Christmas Special
Loved Andrea in this play and she was in TV movie Rainbow playing the young Judy Garland very gifted young lady .

Love this show and the cast.. but how old were they? I’ll have to google. They all seem like teens except for Molly.

They didn't do the whole show...Just this medley...Then they went on to Christmas stuff
The Girl in the Pig Tails being so Extra is just great, did she go on to have a successful career?
Diana Barrows
She was always "extra" LOL
She definitely worked after Annie. I remember her in one of the Friday The 13th movies when she was older. She’s done voice work as well.
Tied with Grease for the most annoying musical crammed down the public’s throat for decades.
Should’ve used them in the movie. The Annie in the movie was terrible.
