  • In part two we find out just how accurate the JSB .177 Hades is. Can it match the .22 version?

    Always interesting to watch you testing different guns and pellets 👍 I never thought there would be any difference in barrels on the same gun brand. I have two Daystate Huntsman Hrs, one groups well with Jsb exact and Hades and the other shoots better with AA fields and won’t group with Hades🤔. Keep posting 👍

    If your gun is working correctly, there are only about 3 reasons why this pellet, (and the normal 10.34g JSB pellet), will not be your favorite pellet for accuracy/hunting up to 70 yards or more. The Hades and the normal JSB 10.34g, (same weight and shape), fly almost the same. Very little scope adjustment needed between the two.
    1) Your scope is not holding zero, (springers usually).
    2) Your barrel is dirty.
    3) You're just not a good shot. (springers are tougher, but can be done)
    You guys do what you want. My .177 pellet search is over. :)

    Hi thank you so much for taking the time to show us all. Ps i have just picked up a new bsa r10 th and it loves job 8.44gr but i got some hades .177 10.34gr and its firing them like a shotgun? I might have a bad tin as I can see with a magnifying glass there seems to be lots of very small dents on the skirts of them. Or do you think my r10 just hates them ?

  • @stevecooper6069

    This video confirms that these hades are no better over range than any other brand ! Of course at 20 yds they can produce good grouping BUT ANY pellet can at short ranges.

    • @paulrhodesquinn

      They're not really designed for the range though. The hollow point makes them particularly effective for hunting. I use them for rats as they hit hard.

    My Steyr LG110 177likes all pellets except H&N but the 7.87 express are exceptional. The Hades in 22 at 890fps are fantastic but for best results the 25.39gn reins supreme out to 100 yards

    Mark
    Use both .177 and .22 find both fantastic.
    The Hades in .177 are 4.50 where JSB are usually 4.51 or 4.52 might be head size that make the difference.
    My s6 likes the Daystate 10.3 the best but struggling to get them now.

    • @airgunsniper-elite7385
      @airgunsniper-elite7385  4 роки тому +2

      Yes, i did wonder about head size. I usually find the 4.52 in .177 and 5.52 in .22 do well in the rifles I have. If they are smaller they don't seem to do as well. I couldn't see the head size on the tin though, but I expect they will do them in various sizes.

      @@airgunsniper-elite7385 hades are 4.50 although I have not measured them.
      What I have found is if you weigh the hades they seem more consistent than the JSB which can range from 10.2 to 10.6 with an odd 10.8. The weight difference seems to affect .177 more than .22.

    • @airgunsniper-elite7385
      @airgunsniper-elite7385  4 роки тому +3

      Yes, with the .22 being more of a diabolo shape, they will probably do better than the .177, like Kim Nichols says bellow, the shape of the .177 is probably due the the weight of the pellet, but they seemed to do well in my rifle so far.

    hi mark,not bad grouping at all for a .177 at that distance as its only a small pellet,i think they are shaped like that is to get the weight to 10 gns with that barrel portion before the skirt they can get it to that weight were as if it was a standard diabolo shape they wouldnt be able to make up the weight and keep the pellet to a similar length,,lets see what your other rifles do,,good stuff,👍

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA 3 роки тому

      On paper, the thicker mid section of the pellet may also reduce wind drag for a better BC than a skinny mid section with a deep skirt. It sure does not hurt pellet stability. In my 16.5fpe break barrel, I am hitting 3" targets to 80 yards so far. Lets see "Little Miss Big Skirt" do that for 3 shots in a row. :)

    Don't know if I should stick my head down he works bog or not ... It's a tricky one , I'm having a beer now and contemplating it .. what I are gonna do is get me butt out on my range Saturday and give them another go .. what I may do is weight a batch ( about 50 ) to get a bit of weight consistency , then test , it's the fliers that do my head in mostly , unfortunately there's no way of putting my results up on here ... Gonna try them in my brocock I think , in not sure if I have or not , I'll need to go through my records .. may , just MAY get another tin , on the off chance I've got a bit of a duffer batch ( or the likes ) so it's more testing for me , hopefully the wind round here ( it's even windy where I shoot when it's still elsewhere around ) kind of a vortex where m range is , not making excuses though ... Another super vid btw , and testing with another rifle ( or two ) will be very interesting .. very interesting indeed ... Btw , my Mrs watched your results and said I SHOULD flush my head down the bog , but she's like that , sadistic old duffer ...

      You'll find the right gun for the pellet. It can be very thrustrating when the pellets don't suit a barrel. Head size could be the issue.

      USA here, 16.5fpe $120.00 break barrel gun. 80 yards and I am shooting 3" targets with this pellet, (and the almost identical JSB 10.34gr heavy). They are by far the best long range pellets that I have ever used and I have taken small game to 70 yards, (mind you, I shoot my gun well). Even with a sub 12fpe gun, you will never see this pellet going sideways through your paper targets no matter how far you are trying to chuck them. My search is over, Hades it is for me. I can see how they may be a little heavy for a 12fpe gun, (I would keep small game/pest hunting under 30 yards myself, due to lack of pellet energy) but I bet overall, they are still worth it.

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA 3 роки тому +2

      @@POINTSOFAIMcheekyscouser When I started holding the gun very lightly, as if it were hanging from 2 strings, and actually pushing the stock from my cheek before I shoot, then feel my terrible trigger as best I could, I started hitting 1" or a bit bigger targets at 63 yards, (range finder measured) about 80% of the time. It is a 16.5fpe Benjamin Titan, and I would be very surprised to find a pellet that works better for long shots than the Hades and it's twin brother, the "exact heavy". I have only shot a few 80 yard shots with pretty good results, but I am past my mill dots on my scope for that far out. I usually shoot targets on my burning barrels, from a door jam of my shop, that is 63 yards, and my confidence with these pellets is off the charts. If I had a better trigger, well, it could only get better. :)

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA 3 роки тому +1

      Either my barrel is dirty or my scope is not holding up. I just shot a wild group at 65 yards, and I can see on the pellet and cardboard targets that the pellets are flying sideways at that distance. Well, I guess it has to be that the barrel needs to be cleaned. The scope won't throw a pellet sideways. :)
