You are right It does look like an amazing knife and that back piece on the guard does need to go, I can agree on that. When you turned the knife upside down it looked like a talon or a claw from big cat kind of. And does the top of the clip-point look sort of like a harpoon too you, that is what I am seeing. Something about this knife reminds of some Gil Hibben designs. I don't know much about NedFoss, I have used some of their throwing axes and they were decent enough. Honestly, for pocket knives and hunting knives, stainless does not bother me. They can be easily sharpened with minimum tools, which is not a bad thing if you're away from home. My favorite hunting knives are the Gerber Gator, Buck 119, and Hen & Rooster 001, all stainless steel blades. Not hard to get them sharp enough to pierce hide and flesh using only a stone. I can see a lot of practical uses for this one and not much to complain about.
Joe if you had scrolled further down the Amazon listing they say it's 8cr14M and below that in the product information they list that it has a convex blade edge despite it clearly being a hollow grind.

The more money we spend the higher the expectations. At 30 dollars you can't be too disappointed. I'd take one for father's day 👍

I absolutely hate the choil area of this blade. Complete waste of steel. Once you get past that it looks like a nice swooping clip point blade.
