Had mine 4 weeks, RWD but England only has the 20" wheels which rob you of a fair few miles. I'm getting about 260 miles from a charge in everyday use, the torque is there constantly and it's a lot of fun to use which greatly affects range. I did a 340 mile round trip added 30% halfway and arrived home on 23%, that was mostly motorway at 65-70. If you hyper miles it you coukd get close to 400. I did that drive with ac on but since found using the heated seats/wheel and hot air with no ac gets you and extra 10-15 on the hyper mile. It's pretty simple to get in and drive but also so configurable you can spend weeks playing with the settings, keeps things interesting. Love the car, like really love driving it.
Well done Blake, great review. I drive an almost identical spec Ioniq 6, where I have done about 30,000km done on Irish roads since last Jan and every km in it has been a pleasure to drive. You didn't get a chance to DC charge the car, but I can confirm that it does indeed charge from 20% to 80% in 18mins or so on an ESB 200kW charger (10% to 80% on Ionity in 18 mins) - faster than you can have a loo break and grab a sandwich when on the road. I can honestly say that the change from a 520D with 1100km of range at full to an Ioniq 6 with 550km of range has made absolutely no difference to my driving patterns.
I have never understood the range argument. I drove this weekend from Leicester to Dorset and back, 4 hours each way. 1 charging stop each way where go grab a bite to eat and have a toilet break, easy. I have found most EV critics have not even tried an EV 😂
Evening. Great video. Thank you. I've got one on order, hopefully here at the end of November. Slightly different spec (English variant), same motor and battery as your test vehicle, but with the larger wheels. Which.... although prettier, not as great with the efficiency. Question for you, when you carried out this trip, what setting did you have the re-gen in? Oh.....and I went with the matte grey 😎😎
I'm well jealous Lawrence...Great choice...although still dont get why Hyundai UK won't give out the aero wheels! I toggled the regen so many times. I like to keep it off when at high speeds, and then increase the regen in towns and sharp bends. Personal choice and I feel it gets me more efficiency.
It would certainly reduce the range like with any car...but the difference would be very small. Affects EVs much less than combustion thanks to regen especially in cities.
We went back 20 years 🤷🤦 In 2011 my Renault Diesel car was reaching around 1544km Range with 5 people and luggage😳🤯 A few notes, 3 were small kids and 2 Adults 98% Motorway no start Stop Traffic . However even my Boot was Bigger 462L 🤷🤦
Ahhh yes. The NOx output was ridiculously poisonous! The clatter was insidious. And the smell….. ah well, to each their own eh? Thing is even here in the United States of Petrol, guns and Highways. Most people only travel more than 43 miles from their homes about 3 times a year.

"Heated seats and hot air"?🤔
@bafattvahetere yes but turn AC off, tilt sunroof for a minute or two if it gets steamy.

Great looking car.
Great work showcasing the capabilities of a popular model, cheers Blake ⚡
Another great test, looking forward to seeing the comparative model3 test.

10:45 Finally someone with proper km values and kWh/100 km instead of miles per kWh 😅
I wonder, same trip with 5 people instead of just the driver, what the range would be?

Rally 3 hrs to go 206km? That’s about 120 miles? For the last leg… well I guess there could be a little traffic..
Just dislike the face of the Ioniq6. Very efficient as usual from Hyundai & Kia. At least it's an alternative to a MAGA/Musk Tesla .
Yeah...try driving around a real country ...like Australia 😮😮😮
A 'real country'? Wow.
Yeah…I drive my Tesla around a real country…like the USA.
